Not to demean the newcomer, but I really miss having McDowell's. It was truly a special experience to walk into the church-like building on the corner of Washington Street, and enter the store. There was always a unique, homey smell about it. Everything was well set-up, and the owners were warm and friendly. We always found something perfect here. Denney Electric sold me a broken ceiling fan & when I called I was given a phone number for Hinkley (the fan producer) to try & solve my problem. I NOW have to wait for a part from Hinkley that may or may not fix the fan. I am now responsible for also paying someone to try & fix the new "broken" ceiling fan I was sold by Denney Electric. If this part doesn't fix the fan I will need to buy another ceiling fan & I am out $500?? How is this fair?? Very disappointed!
