I have been without internet service from Suddenlink for 11 days and the issue is not resolved at the time of this post. This review is long but it provides you an insight as to the support you get from this company * August 5th: New service installed * Installer laid the cable across a lot about to be developed * I questioned the wisdom on this as the a house was about to be built as I believed the builder would sever the cable * September 2nd: Moved into the home * Internet up, cable across the next lot buried - all looks good * September 3rd: builders next door start work * First thing they did is sever the fibre optic cable [as I suspected they would] * Internet DOWN [1 day without service] * Tried to call Suddenlink - systems down due to upgrade - announcement stated they would be up on September 4th * September 4th - Called Suddenlink - systems still down - call agents could not issue a repair ticket * Internet DOWN [2 days without service] * September 5th - Called Suddenlink - eventually got through - got an appointment scheduled for September 6th * Clearly stated the Fibre Option cable outside the house was severed/broken and needed to be replaced * Internet DOWN [3 days without service] * September 6th - Technician showed * Validate the issue as severed fibre option cable * Stated he was not qualified for fibre optic and left * Internet DOWN [4 days without service] * September 7th - Called Suddenlink to get status on repair * Agent confirmed a repair ticket was raised but did not have access to local system so could provide no more details * Promised I would receive a call back with details - NO CALL BACK * Internet DOWN [5 days without service] * September 8th - posted review online giving the company 1 STAR * Internet DOWN [6 days without service] * September 9th - followed up on response to my review with email to BrandReviews * Initial experience was good - contacted me and arranged for dispatch to send out a fiber technician Tuesday 10th * Internet DOWN [7 days without service] * September 10th - no technician arrived * We had a bad storm so I understood but expected a reschedule to the next day, and notification * BrandReview rescheduled the appointment for September 11th * Internet DOWN [8 days without service] * September 11th - no technician arrived * Website state the appointment between 2PM to 8PM * Called support at 8:10 PM to get a status - on hold for 70 minutes * Agent informed me the next appointment would be September 15th; told the agent this was unacceptable and I wanted to escalate * New appointment for September 12th between 11Am and 2PM * BrandReview confirmed a Fiber technician was being sent out * Internet DOWN [9 days without service] * September 12th - technician arrives * Reviews the work to be done, speaks to me about the job but states he is not qualified for fiber work * States he will speak to his supervisor and the fiber team would come out to fix relay the cable - he confirmed it would be done that day - hold on - this is the exact same thing that occurred on September 6th - 6 DAYS AGO * No fiber team arrive. No update. * Call support at 7:50PM to get a status - on hold for 80 minutes * Agent tells me she has created a new appointment for WEDNESDAY September 18th. * I state this was unacceptable, but she stated it was all she could do but would request an escalation and 'someone' would call me back * Internet down [10 days without service] * September 13th - Called first thing in the morning to see if a new escalated appoint time was set * No new date, but agent stated she would have the dispatch team call me . * Internet DOWN [11 days without service] read more

This is probably the worst cable company I have had to deal with. After missing the first schedule appointment for install, they proceeded to miss the following two appointments that I have had to reschedule. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. read more

We are new customers of Suddenlink due to the rural company's monopoly in Conroe Tx. They just installed their substandard equipment, and when we called to tell them it never worked they charged to come out to fix the equipment that was brand new and never worked. We called daily to get this charge removed and there appears to be only two people working their entire call center and after putting us on hold for 40 minutes each day we call they aren't allowed to credit the account and they have to escalate it and they say someone will have to call us back. Keep in mind this is the billing department we call. They never call us back!!!! Time to get a lawyer! Buyer beware! read more

Only internet provider in my area or we would go with someone else. CONSTANT outages, like seriously once a month. This last one has been going on for like a week, my boyfriend can't even play online games on his wired computer, and I NEED internet to work from home during COVID 19. Even when it's working it's slow as sh** and I often have to turn off my WiFi just to be able to play a phone game. If you have a different option, take it. read more

If they were not the only cable internet provider in my neighborhood, I would have dropped them. Will soon switch to DSL at twice the price, like my neighbors have. ZERO Stars! Worst customer service and deceptive practices @suddenlink. Promised Google home mini with service upgrade 3/2019. Still haven't received it after MULTIPLE calls and requests. It's been 8 months and now they are saying I will receive it in January. That would be 11 months after the upgrade. Their representatives failed to note on my account that I called them 5 times since the upgrade to inquire about the promotional item promised. I've provided them the confirmation email dated 3-13-19 and they won't acknowledge their mistakes. read more

I wish I didn't have to give a star at all. This is by far the worst Internet provider service ever. The Internet loses service on an average of 3 times a month for 2-16 hours. Of course u can call but there are no humans to answer questions. You will be told by auto voice that there is a service interruption in your area and most interruptions are resolved within 2 hours. NEVER TRUE. Plus, they do not give any credit for the time the Internet is out. They just continue to charge. Weekends and weekdays the services goes out without any bad weather or reason. I am anxiously awaiting a new provider to come along in my area. For now I am stuck with Suddenlink which is a company that does not care about their customers. Or the inconvenience they cause. If you think your going to get work done at home that requires a stable internet connection think again. This place has to be the worst provider I have ever had and that's saying something coming from Charter. Shoot Id take Charter back in a heart beat over this nonsense. Also they will make sure your personal better ORBI router doesn't work after a few days so you're stuck using theirs with a charge per month to do so. Cant wait until my lease is done. I could say a lot about the horribleness of this company, such as how they lied about the $69.99 bundle, which turned out to be $143, which is now $164 because they just went up on price to keep providing us with quality service, HA! Or how the tech who installed lied about hooking up wi-fi to my computer, something that anyone with a competent brain can do, or how Netflix barely comes on or how YouTube has never worked properly, pausing every 10 seconds, or how the wi-fi goes in and out intermittently. But I will not say any of this. All I will say is what I told the customer service rep this morning, this company is gangsters, rackateers, and should be eradicated out of existence. I just returned some equipment after being a customer a while back. I live in an apartment and I never had an issue with the internet or tv services. I'm only writing this review because of the lady that helped me when I returned my items. I didn't catch her name, but she was nice, courteous, and professional. She was friendly to my two young sons all while managing my return. The in-store customer service was great! read more

I have called twice to complain about a cable stretching across my property into the street to the next house in my neighborhood. They claim it is part of their infrastructure and then charged me 60 dollars for the call and will not reverse it. I find it difficult to believe how such a large geographic area has only ONE internet provider. Being as such, they're aware of this as they do not have any quality customer service, and you'll need it as their internet is TERRIBLE. Their fix is to walk you through tedious troubleshooting that doesn't fix the problem. I have rented their modem, purchased my own, had techs come out, and there are still multiple outages per week. I took an online course and couldn't complete it partly due to the lack of internet. My wife works from home sometimes but has to use a hotspot from her cell...So happy Tachus will be coming to our neighborhood!!! Bye Suddenstink! read more

I work from home, and need the fastest internet. Suddenlink was the only option in this area. Never have I experienced so many outages, so frequently... my customers can't even call our main line. Thank God, I have Verizon Wireless and able to at least get access to my emails. I think Suddenlink needs to replace their lines, cause outage almost on a weekly basis is outrageous. They charge you without any interruption though.... so frustrated at this point... wish Verizon would run their FOIS in this area... or Comcast would expend to this location... would switch in a heartbeat. read more

I was a customer of Suddenlink for phone and internet service for 7+ years. I most recently upgraded and paid for 400 mbps for the last two years but on most days I never got more that 200 mbps and in the final months never got over 100 mbps. It was so slow that myTV streaming services often would not function properly. So I finally changed to another provider. My new provider installed installed their service on August 2nd, I cancelled Suddenlink service on August 3rd, and I personally returned the equipment to a nearby Suddenlink office on August 5th. Today on August 18th I received notice that my credit card had been charged for another month of service. I called in and was told that I cancelled on the first day of a new billing cycle so I had to pay in advance for another month of service. Service that I was not going to receive!!! They didn't charge me for one day, two days, or even ten days but a whole month. Customer service was not able to give me any satisfaction and there was not a supervisor or an assistant to discuss the matter with. Please understand that I was under no contract or obligation to give advance notice. This is nothing but a greedy money grab and should be illegal. read more

71018. Since hook-up on 62618 I have not been able to get channels listed in my package. I finally call in and listened to their repetitive crap while on hold for over 25min. Then, a Rep asks me what the issue is. After her 4 attempts to 'Reset', I'm asked to unplug HDR receiver....replugg....and Nothing. Which was a good time for her to drop the call. No word back, like they don't have my ph # on record. 14 days of service and was told it would be 30 days prior to 1st bill. I received my bill only 7 days in. What a lousy good for nothing company to have to deal with. They have taken SUCK to a level I've never known to exist. Get rabbit ears. You'll do better and live a longer life. read more

I have generally not had an issue with Suddenlink and could never understand why people complained so much. Well, my time has come! No outage in my area, just my home. I work from home and invest in the highest level of service with the intention of being a priority customer. That means nothing to Suddenlink, apparently. My service is out and I can get zero work done, but they can't make it to my house for 5 days?! 5 days with no internet. All work comes to a halt for 5 days! I am very dissatisfied with the service suddenlink has provided. At the local office location the one time i had a billing issue they appearantly lacked empathy for my situation and proper customer service skills. At this very moment our area has no internet service so im using data on my phone and unable to watch my favorite shows on a sunday evening and to top it off I will pay a full bill as if there were no service interruptions all month which is just wrong. Suddenlink is a rip off and they take advantage of people that are areas that have only them to choose as a provider. I am constantly having to unplug and retart my router. Suddenlink is a terribly cold and evil company. Proof: My bedridden sister died and I had to travel across the country to take care of her funeral arrangements. Previously she told me she had canceled her Suddenlink services but as it turns out she needed to return the cable and wifi boxes to the physical office. I returned home and discovered the boxes at my sisters house needed to be returned. I called Suddenlink to seek their help but received a matter-of-fact response with no help, no mercy, and no understanding that I had just lost a loved one with no reasonable option to return the boxes. The Suddenlink saga continues ... Once again, we had no internet service this morning. I rang Suddenlink to report the problem. I was on hold for just under 16 minutes waiting to speak to a Suddenlink agent. During all this time I had to listen to a tape loop telling me what a marvel of speed and reliability Suddenlink is and how excited they were to take my call. Under the circumstance, it seemed they were going out of their way to insult my intelligence. Apart from whether the assertions made in the recorded announcement were true or accurate, they would certainly have been more appropriate for potential customers who still don't know any better and are waiting to sign up for new service than for existing customers who already know the truth and are calling for the umpteenth time to complain about Suddenlink's poor service. When I call to complain again and again and have to wait on hold for 15 minutes or more, I would prefer the tape loop to feature the sound of Suddenlink technicians and executives crying for mercy as they are pistol-whipped by frustrated Suddenlink customers. Let me start by saying I am not a customer of Suddenlink but I was in the past. The cable box is in my back yard. It is gaping open and has been for years. I sometimes go out and straighten it up and put it back together but now I can't even do that. They recently dug a trench beside my house from the street to the cable box. The trench has since caved in. The box is still gaping open and cannot be closed because half of its innards are sticking out. Is this anyway to run a business? My contact has been with the tech people. My issue is tech related! This company uses a call center outside the boundaries of the 50 states. Before anybody trolls me, I work in a very diverse cultural business so put a cork in it! I discovered a glitch in the email system when I signed up online. I had to use another service as my contact email since my account with Suddenlink had not been established. Here in lies the problem. I/ they can't create new email addresses because the account was set up using a different domain. I have called tech for help 5x since opening this account. If I wasn't disconnected, the rep stated that is issue requires a deeper look and that it would require 24 hrs or more to fix the problem. I still waiting two weeks later, still no resolution. Today I called and asked to be transferred to a tech in the US. The entitled "b" had adasity to tell that I was racist for asking. Being that this tech was by her accent foreign and English was her second language. I responded " who the f do you think you are? Now she wants to tell me that one curse word was grounds for her to hang up. I asked for her supervisor. She stated that she doesn't have one. Hard to believe that a call center doesn't have a supervisor. Hung up on her arrogance! Called back, next tech has no idea how to forward contact information so I can file a complaint on the previous tech. I then repeat my story about the email again 7th time. Guess what, she has to file a report for a deeper dive into the issue. God help this company. If they didn't have the monopoly at my complex, I would loose them faster than a fart in a fan factory. Even the management company here thinks they suck, but they don't care to look for other internet companies for the community. Unfortunately I have to use Suddenlink as satellite and other cable/internet services are not available in my area. Customer service is and has been a joke for the 10+ years I've been a customer. Spotty reliability, dropped audio, picture pixelation and incorrect billing is the norm. Contractors attempted to bury cable across my property numerous times without authority or easement. Call customer disservice if you have time to waste on hold only to be hung up on after 30 minutes to over an hour. The only way service is going to improve is competition.
