I canceled over a year ago and they're still harassing me. I've begged them to stop calling and even blocked their number. My internet was $80 a month and barely worked. We'd go days without internet because they wouldn't send anyone to fix it. Then, when I finally canceled, suddenly they could offer me internet for $10. One of the reps even raised their voice at me and basically acted like I was stupid for not taking the $10 deal. After almost two hours on the phone, with multiple people hanging up on me, I finally got it canceled. And now they keep calling trying to win me back like a toxic ex who can't accept the breakup. Horrible connectivity and horrendous customer service. I canceled my service on the second day of the billing cycle and must pay for 28 days of unused service. I literally spent over an hour trying to disconnect this service. They talked deliberately super-fast and tried to sneakily get me to agree to continue the service. I interrupted and said "no" consistently. They said they had to give the entire script, so I just kept saying "no" whenever they took a breath. Then, after dealing with that for an interminable amount of time, they said they had to transfer me to "level 2" support to actually cancel the service. This company baited me with a promotional deal: $60 for 1GB internet, then mobile lines with a BOGO $45 plan, totaling $85/month. After signing up, none of that pricing showed up on my bill. I reached out immediately and was told it could take "up to two billing cycles" for the promo to apply -- but they were already billing me the wrong amount. I've exchanged countless messages with their rep Gabriel, sent proof, followed instructions exactly -- and still nothing. The only reason I'm giving these guys a one star review is because I can't give a zero star review. I've had these guys multiple times while in college and it's an absolute JOKE. Their "student rate" they claimed that I was on (which was supposed to be $75/month) just vanished out of nowhere. Wasn't sent a letter stating they were dropping the student rate and when I got my bill that next month, it was over $200. The people working inside the Optimum store did next to nothing when I went in to ask why my bill had jumped up nearly $100 and I was basically told "oh we can give you a gift card or change your due date if you're having problems paying your bill this month." I cannot stress this enough, if you are in the Stillwater area and you absolutely need internet, it's better to go get a cheap hotspot from Walmart than try to go through these people. read more

Unfortunately, there is no zero to rate this horrible business. My 96-year-old mother signed up for their services and had to cancel because her apartment used Blue Peak for their cable services. I had a conference call with her and the representative, and he was surly, not helpful and would not speak to me because my name was not on the account. My Mother was in tears and then they kept charging her account with a late charge. My sister-in-law went into the store three times and told them they had called the separate phone number, and they had canceled four months prior, including returning the equipment. She ended up paying the inflated bill just to Keep from constantly getting worked up about it. This is absolutely pathetic and you should not even be in business. When trying to call billing the option to speak with a representative wasn't available!!! The local office in Stillwater doesn't handle billing! They told me there was an outage in my area and they would fix it as soon as possible. The next day still no internet so I contact them again, hoping for an update. This time they said the connection to my place looked fine and it was likely a modem issue. I replaced the modem, get everything ready and still no internet. I contact them again and they tell me again that there is an outage in my area and they are working to fix it as soon as possible. So why did I replace my modem? It's been 4 days and still no internet. An outage shouldn't take this long to fix unless it was major structural damage from a tornado or something! Absolutely horrible service. read more

SuddenLink is absolutely the worst nightmare i've ever experienced in circular bureaucratic do-nothing, pass-the-buck, on-hold forever BS. it began with a badly bungled install with loose wire running on the ground across our driveway to no service the first week due to wrong router, and then customer support hold times over 30 minutes to non-responsive support and misinformation, i.e., canceled Premier Support with one support call only to find out the next month it was NOT canceled. i wouldn't recommend them if they were the last Internet provider on the planet. terrible company. i'd give no stars if possible. read more

I have been screwed left and right by this company. I've been charged for a phone on my monthly bill for a year before I found out it was on there and didn't get a refund. Then they had to switch my router which has unreliable internet and they can never fix it. When I asked if I could get a better deal considering that I've gone weeks without internet but still had to pay for it, but the customer service rep just laughed it off. This is the worse provider I have ever dealt with. I ordered business phone (2) lines with rollover and Business internet for $153.00 From the start this was a complete mess. Tech shows up and was at my business no longer than 15 mins. Left with both internet and phone not working saying he called in a ticket. Two days later still no phone or internet. After hours on the phone with Suddenlink comes to find out only one number was ordered and they were having issues with setting that number up. No excuse for internet not working. I was told at that time the other number was ordered but over the next week or so when my services were still not working it comes to find out the 2nd line was never ordered. Over the next three weeks I spend over 20 hrs on the phone with tech support trying to get my phone and internet working. Suddenlink sent out techs four different times never getting the services working. Every time the techs blamed it on programming and said this was a very common issue with Suddenlink. Finally on November 25 and after spending 5 hrs on the phone with Suddenlink tech support we got the services going and this was only due to the woman I finally got in contact with was a long time employee and had contacts In the programming department. She ended up ordering the 2nd line and fixing all the issues. Now to billing. Before my service were even working I received a bill. The bill included services for both phone and internet even tho it was not working. The bill also included installation charges and a missed appointment charge. When I ordered service I was told any installation charge would be credited or at no charge and at no time did I ever miss an appointment. I was also supposed to receive a visa gift card, which I never received. After calling in and speaking to billing who is overseas I was told over 3 times the account would be credited properly with the last time the overseas billing representative told me my bill was 60$. Now after having the service from Nov 24, receiving an incorrect bill in December which should of been about 60$ and receiving a bill today January 14 they are telling me I owe them a little over 500$. This is impossible as my monthly is only 153$. I was told today my billing cycle is the 7th to the 7th. So, December 7th to January 7th is 153$ and January 7th to Feb 7th is 153$ equaling 306$ plus the 60$ equals 366$. Another day wasted on the phone with Suddenlink for 2 hrs with the billing representative telling me there is nothing he can do. I would not recommend Suddenlink and I am currently on the phone changing providers. read more

I turned on services and had a bill due the very next week. I called and asked why I hadn't received the reward card. A representative said "we ask that you stay with us for three months and not pay late, then we will send your reward card." No where on these promotional flyers does it state these terms. I would absolutely NEVER recommend optimum to anyone. I had Suddenlink back in June and as soon as it switched to optimum we had nonstop issues. We moved apts (in the same complex) in October. Had talked to someone to move the internet from one unit to the other. Had no issues till January when someone moved into our old apartment and set up their internet and ours got shut off. Called in and had a horrible experience (as always) trying to talk to anyone and get help. But ultimately found out the person who moved our internet didn't do something correctly and messed it up so that there was two accounts still on the first apt. When through hell trying to get it fixed took over a week of no internet and getting told I'd get a call back, never getting it and then having to go through the hell of calling in again. Finally was told by a supervisor that it was all good and fixed. Come the next month, we cancel and switch internet companies. Which is also hell to deal with. And then also find out apparently the supervisor who helped had just opened a new account with out telling me so I had two accounts with them, and apparently was charged for a new account set up. When I wasn't aware or even wanted that. Just wanted my original account fixed. And because I wasn't aware and hadn't paid that account set up fee that shouldn't of been charged. It was sent to collections (affecting my credit) and when I called in and they opened a case on it they said it's okay that the previous supervisor didn't inform me that I was being charged and that I still had to pay and that basically it doesn't matter as long as I had internet again. Which mind you I had already paid for all my internet fees and charges. This was only one charge that was a mistake by the supervisor. But they rather screw over customers then admit they're employees and company has made so many mistakes that are effecting customers. Definitely avoid Optimum at all costs. I feel that optimum treats us poorly because they CAN, because they know they are the ONLY provider that offers high speed internet to our area therefore we don't have any choice but to go through them...The service may not be too bad for those who live IN TOWN, atleast WE never had any issues when we lived IN TOWN but since we moved out here to the EDGE of town by Richmond Elementary it's been nothing but problems and today I realized our bill has increased from $64.99 (what we've paid for 2yrs) to $79.99 because apparently our "promotional rate has expired" usually I wouldn't complain but again, we've had nothing but issues since we moved! The first issue, the day they came and moved our service out here last August they updated our modem and TOOK MY coaxial cable with them leaving me alittle 5ftish one, I bought ours to extend our modern at our old house cause I didn't want it on the floor! Well when they moved our service out here they setup our modem on the floor again AND took MY coaxial cable so I could not move it!! Why setup modems on the FLOOR? we all know these modems do better ELEVATED, UP IN THE AIR! well, the techs SHOULD know that anyway. Immediately I start getting everything setup and realize my desktop computer WILL NOT find our new network! Tried for days! Even tried resetting my computer and NOTHING! it is only down the hallway in our back bedroom...ended up having to spend $65 on a wifi range extender from Amazon...so now my computer runs off the range extenders wifi network instead OUR home network ‍ our bedroom TV has even had issues connecting to the network, it acts like it's too far away. Our living room TV seems great but my ring doorbell that is installed on the patio just off the living room has the worst time stating connected the network! Like WHY??? Living out here we also lose service COMPLETELY when a storm comes through...mind you I work from home, I rely heavily on my HIGHSPEED INTERNET! I really hoped that once SUDDENLINK was out of the picture our service would get better and wouldn't be paying $80 a month for CRAP but that just isn't the case unfortunately and like I said, they get away with this cause we have nowhere else to turn! AT&T doesn't offer the service I need for stillwater OK and Tmobile internet also just like AT&T only go's to 25mps. I need the 1GIG HIGH SPEED otherwise I'd switch providers! At my address this is the only company offering fast WiFi. I have had them for a year or so now, and the WiFi when it works is fine. Their customer service however is the absolute worst. Everyone in town told me the same thing before I started with them, but I didn't have a choice. When setting up my account it took forever, I couldn't get a hold of anyone personally. I had to set it up online myself, which is fine, but they should have the option to talk to someone. Now, I have a tree limb the broke the internet line in my back yard. Iv been out of WiFi for 7 days....still they refuse to answer my phone call or give me the option to talk to a representative. I called and after bullshitting with their automated customer service rep, finally got ahold of a real person. They then informed me that there was a "company wide rate change that accounts for the $10 change". I thought that my rate was guaranteed for 12 months after service began, clearly I was wrong. The only thing dependable about SuddenLink is that it will drop the internet every hour, especially between 11:00 and 4:30. Technicians have been out twice and both said the cause is a bad node. They told me the node would be updated 4 weeks ago and to date the service just keeps getting worse. Customer service reps, when and if you can get to them, have strong accents and a very limited script. They are not able to answer questions and their script ends at "usually rebooting your modem will fix the problem." The bottom line is, they charge a premium for their connection, but do not maintain their system. read more

Everything seems to be out sourced outside of the US. I have had this service since June and my home phone has never worked, on the 3rd attempt ( in August to repair did I mention I started service in June) to repair they done something that stopped my internet! Yes on 8/12 and as of today still no internet no phone and no one cares. Yes 8/15 was our 4th technician and nothing works but TV. So here we go for #5 tomorrow I'm willing to bet it will remain inoperable. The technician will say it's trying to connect to Chickasaw when it should be connecting to Suddenlink and it's on the Suddenlink side, the horrible service (almost impossible to get through without wasting hours) center will say it's a installer issues and around and around we go. Suddenlink needs to get it together! Every single day, the DVR has issues. Have to reboot, remove sd card, power off, and then you are lucky to be able to watch a recorded show.
