My husband and I stayed at Paradisus Cancun for our 4 year anniversary and although it was an…read moreall-inclusive resort, we could not resist trying their only restaurant that garnered 5 diamonds in Mexico (equivalent to Michelin guide in the States) even though it would be a separate cost. And let me tell you, it was absolutely worth it! After enjoying resort food and drinks for 5 days, our palettes were graced with an absolutely delicious take on Latin fine dining. From the food to the service, we thoroughly enjoyed each carefully prepared dish that was bursting with flavor and complexity. We indulged in the wine-pairing along with our 7 course meal, and left completely satisfied. Our server was very kind and provided excellent service throughout the night (please forgive my memory -- I forgot his name.) But overall, we are so glad that we tried Tempo and it was worth the extra charge, despite being surrounding by several other all-inclusive restaurants! If you have the means to try Tempo during your stay at Paradisus Cancun, I highly recommend coming here. You won't regret it!

We opted for the tasting menu experience, I had the vegetarian and my partner had the regular both with a total of 7 courses and about 4-5 complementary courses. The presentation was wonderful as were the flavor combinations for each dish. The portions are perfect and if you don't fill up on bread (like we did but it's so good!) you should leave more than satisfied. The standout to me was the truffled honey ice component of a savory dish, I was also a HUGE fan of the cheese platter which was perfectly paired with sweet accents to offset the sharpness of the cheeses. After the dessert course they also gave me to very nicely decorated pistachio macarons for my birthday! If you find yourself in Cancun definitely check out Tempo. A Michelin Star Tasting Menu for approximately $100, what is there to think about? Hope you get Daniel as your waiter he is the best!

Really more like 4.5 stars…read more Holy CAO - this place serves delicious food with inventive and entertaining cocktails, and vibes to keep you grooving in your seats as you eat. Located in the marina with both indoor and patio seating, you'll have a nice view of the water and a breeze in the evenings. My party spent 4 hours dining here for dinner; splitting a few dishes and mostly just talking with each other, the staff, and vibing to the DJ's tunes. At times the music was a little loud and I could see this deterring families with young children from sitting outside. They also push the alcohol sale here hard. As with most restaurants, I'm sure this is a big money maker for them (nothing is cheap here) but we had a person in our party who does not drink alcohol and the push was a little too pushy, even after we asked that they stop asking. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and they brought a cupcake at the end of our meal. Unfortunately, it was frozen solid in the center. Every entree and appetizer selection was excellent. I highly recommend the quesabirria and garlic shrimp! We're from the California Bay Area and the pricing here was like going out at home. It's expensive and caters to the tourist, so beware. You can also hookah here!

If I could give a place a 5+, this would probably be it. Right from the ambiance, to the…read morepresentation and showmanship and finally the flavors, everything was on point and above. We were celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary and wanted a place that was fancy, non touristy and not bank breaking and zeroed down on this place. ++ The complimentary chips and salsa was delicious. I landed up getting another order of the chips ++ Cocktails. Not only were they delicious, but the showmanship was the coup de grace ++ The New York Aguachile was something else. The server cut the steak and seared it in front of us and applied all the sauces (more like vinegars), onions and guacamole ++ Try the rib eye gaoneras and the Cao Tacos. You definitely won't be disappointed We were so full, that we didn't have any space for dessert. I may have exaggerated on the 5+, but I think that's subjective and relative to competition. Among the multiple places in Cancun, this one definitely stands out.

Dinner in the cancun strip…read more We decided to pick Porfirio's for the evening from all of the restaurants outside of the all inclusive resorts. I took some notes and this is what I thought of the dishes. Xoajacan Imoladas - The mole is perfection. The flautas, superb. Everything in this plate is a symphony of what I would expect from Xoajaca. 9.5/10 Barbacoa Bonemarrow - Barcacoa is on point. The Marrow is Sublime. Together with the accompaniments is superb. I dream of Marrow everyday. This is a 10/10 Yellow fin Tosatadas - Superb!!! One of the best tostadas I have ever had. The microgreens, the sauce and the square Tostada works well all together. 8.8/10 Salmon - Cooked perfectly. The corn is a great accompaniment. The fish is impeccably seasoned. This dish is heaven sent with a 9.8/10 Grilled Octopus - Grilled perfectly, I can tell by the texture. The mash is superb, they used margarine instead of butter and I absolutely love the contrast from the traditional mash. 9.8/10 Mexican Rice - Its pretty good. It does have a nice seafoodish finish. The pepper was actually spicy. Nice and pleasant rice dish. 8/10 Charred Avocado Salad - Grilled avocado is a bit of a wash. It did make it look good on the plate. The dressing is a little weak. Needs a little more zip, some citrus or vinegar would give this salad some justice. Its a little uninspired 7/10 Service is impeccable and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely.

Anyway: the food, presentation of the dishes itself, and the overall vibe: 4/5. My favorite dish was definitely the steak. The bone marrow is better off being plain without all the stuff they put on top. The steak itself was perfectly cooked & seasoned. I should've took more pictures of the food but whatever- the mango tuna thing with avocado was delicious. Very mango forward. Great alongside some salsa as well. The octopus: OK enough, slightly overcooked. Chewy. Chicharron guac was yum. Our server was so sweet in the beginning but had an attitude after getting tipped 25% LOL other than that, great experience :)
