I went in for the fitting, and very little adjustements were needed. For once, I did not experience significant adatation period or headache after receiving new glasses. The guarantee of two years (no extra fee) was also very reassuring, especially since anti-glare coatings can deteriorate. The glasses came with a case, cleaning product (can be refilled for free), and an extra microfiber cloth (also can ask for a replacement if needed in the future). The staff was very professional and welcoming. Alice took care of all the follow ups. This shop might not have "promotions" and "sales" all year long, but the service is excellent. I believe it is worth the price; I use my glasses everyday after all!

The doctor I worked with was fast, friendly, and down-right helpful when it came to how I can better treat my eyes. Robert, the notorious optician behind the cash, took extensive pains to have me try on every pair of glasses he thought would be flattering on me based on my current style/glasses. I ended up with a really affordable and boss pair of vintage frames. What's particularly awesome about their selection of glasses is that they order never-worn vintage frames (as well as new stock) so you're not dealing with the designer prices other places will impose on you. Because of this place's proximity to Concordia they're extremely mindful of insurance covering for products/services; as such, I walked away with an eye exam, new glasses, and a small batch of contacts, paying (after insurance) $10. I've seen the reviews for the location and it's definitely not the same experience for me. First of all, we were promptly seen after we waited to get inside the place. They purposefully close it and have a sign clearly saying appointments only. This was a great sign. Inside, there's around 2 people working and it was fairly spacious (with a bunch of different frames all over.) as I write this review they have a few promotions going including 2-for-1 for both lenses and the frames. The person helping us was kind and let us explore the shop without interruption. We were able to choose frames and just put any frames we didn't want into a tray so they can clean and replace them. The person helping us, after we finished choosing, let us know about the different lenses available and had a few suggestions. There was a pricier lens set but she was never pushy about it. I really appreciated that! The other individual took a bit of time to help us measure the distance between my eyes. He was very nice as well. The price was reasonable and everyone involved was great. They gave me all of the invoice and receipting required for my insurance. They also let me know all about their warranty. I am looking forward to picking up my glasses in a couple of weeks.

I went into Lunetterie New Look at Place Vertu to look for frames. The young woman who attended me was very helpful, took her time with me - I had to try frames for 45 minutes before finally finding the perfect one. She made me a price and then I decided to book an appointment for an eye checkup with them. The following week (Dec 22nd) I went for my eye exam and after to pay for the actual glasses. They now give me a whole different price (evidently higher). I explained to the man what price I had been given, but he kept repeating the same tape. I left the store very angry and most importantly disappointed; I decided to go back to ask for the piece of paper that the young woman had left the previous week, that's when the manager, Brigitte I think her name was, came and talk to me. She told me that the frames I had picked were not part of the promotion, etc. and asked me to look around to find another frame. I told her I had already looked through their selection and that was the frame that suited me best (this was not a designer frame). She told me she'd call me the next day to see what she can do. I left the store and purchased my glasses somewhere else. Moral: this place does not know what "business" and "customer service" mean. You need to honour a promise made to a client. I had been looking forward to getting new glasses for years and decided to gift these to myself for Christmas. This is no way to treat someone, especially during the holiday season. Little advice for the staff: a satisfied client will probably tell 1-2 people about the great service they had, a dissatisfied one will tell everyone they know and meet.
