He apparently dined at a restaurant next door to it from a past visit. So he was intrigued to find what this restaurant offers. Looking at their menu, they seem to have a wide selection of dishes. So the hubby opted for their profiteroles with cafe americano. He so loved it that I didn't even get a chance to take a picture of it. I tried their "chupitos" (shots). Hey, it's 5 o'clock somewhere! And it was quite an experience. Imagine different flavored alcohol shots ... pandan, strawberry, ube, chocolate and melon? Just because it piqued my interest, I'm rating it a 4. There are quite a few located in North American cities which have large Filipino populations. So Jollibee is not a new place to me. Dropped by this Jollibee for brunch on our way to Simila Shrine. Our orders came out at different times, but within 10 minutes we each received our order. I heard no complaints from anyone, and everyone finished what they ordered except for those who do not each much rice. My lovely wife liked her Tapsilog. I enjoyed my Yummy Cheeseburger with fries and pineapple juice! Of course, we got Peach Mango Pies!! Costs 89 Php for 3 Mini pies, and it is worth it!! They do have traditional Filipino food so do not fret. I ordered the *Yellow Fin Tuna Kinilaw* (P390) as a starter. Kinilaw is similar to ceviche but with a more heavy use of vinegar, and in this case coconut vinegar. The fish was firm and fresh. Added ingredients included some veggies and very potent chilis. Yum! I also ordered some pizza just to change things up but still went for their *Cebuano Special* (P380) which, in addition to minced beef, did include slices of mango, so to me it was pizza with a Filipino twist, to an extent, haha. The pizza I feel was expertly prepared, perhaps in a wood fired oven. The mango pieces gave it this sweet twang and creamy texture which was enjoyable with the peppery seasoning and cheesy goodness. I believe there were 8 slices or so. I did attempt to conquer this on my own but the portion is definitely more appropriate for two eaters. I do prefer more laid back restaurants such as these. There are many options along the small main drag but this one is a little more tucked in and is therefore more quiet.

Food service can take a while sometimes but since I usually go there when I'm on vacation, with no other appointments other than to relax, this was not an issue for me. As for me, I'm a local who is always on a budget but has a penchant for idyllic spots so whenever I'm here, I usually just go for their iced coffee, which at around P50+, is cheap AF and splurge on the food, which are amazingly affordable (usually range from P165+ to P400++). But we have been eating some form of lechon since we arrived on New Year's Day so I was getting tired of it LoL! just a little. I ordered grilled chicken instead. Conching's is famous for one thing: their charcoal-grilled native chicken. What is a native chicken? They are more commonly raised in rural areas, cage-free. They are smaller in size than the regular chicken, it's because of their organic diet. Both its size and diet make these native chicken unique and more natural in taste. We ordered two servings and it didn't disappoint. So delicious, salted just right and the skin is crunchy. Setting looks rundown, nothing fancy with long tables and plastic chairs and a grill out front. Very laid back. Live music entertained the diners... young adults with music instruments. I was amused.
