I'm a huge library nerd. Always have been since elementary school when my dad first took me to the massive South Beach library on 14th street (It's no longer there anymore :( ) and that day, I checked out the book limit which was 20 books. Did I read all the books? No, but as a 7-year-old who hardly went out anywhere, that place was paradise. That's why the public library system is such a valuable asset; especially where children are involved. It keeps them out of trouble and in a place where they can actually learn something. Fast forward to many years later and my heart still skips a beat whenever I enter a Library. This Library in particular is small when compared to other libraries in central Florida, but it's also one of the newer ones so it's clean, well kept, and has a Lab room, but also a Technology room should you sign up for one of their courses. Which by the way is completely free. I try to take advantage of that when I can, just the other day I took a: "How to make a book charm class", and it was a delightful experience. I've seen that you can even learn how to program video games if you wish to go down that avenue, or if you wanted to, you could sign up to become familiar with various computer programs, even how to build a web-site, all free, why would you not take advantage of that? Other than books, you are able to check out DVD's and movies here as well. The staff is super friendly here, definitely will be back. read more

Did you know you can learn how to crochet for free at the Library!? They offer classes and you sign up on line. You have to have a library card, but that is free as well. I signed up for Amuriguri Class 1 and 2. In the first class you learn how to make a magic circle, then you move onto single crochet stitches, increase stitch and if this is all Greek to you, don't worry...it was for me as well! But Gaby, who is the teacher will help you and you too can learn how to make the basic little character like I did. There were people in my class who had done this previously and then there was me, with a little bit of experience. I was hoping they wouldn't kick me out and I had big time imposter syndrome. But guess what, they didn't kick me out! I learned some basics and in between both classes I watched you tube, practiced a lot! I took apart my project three times and remade it. You can find the same type of yarn they give you at Hobby Lobby. It's called Beginner's yarn. I hope if you have always wanted to learn how to crochet, sign up! And here's a top tip, sign up at the beginning of the month because classes fill up faster than you can say Amuriguri! read more

I came here to do my duty of early voting and I was impressed by the building and the staff. The linterior of the building is attractive, an engaging place to seek knowledge. There is a stage to the left upon entering for live readings and other events. All in all, a pleasant environment and reminded me of my childhood when libraries were a regular stop in my life. read more

I just started to visit this branch of the Orange County Library System just this year. I like movies. And with the pandemic, my visits to the cinema were few. I have ventured out recently to see The Northman and Jurassic World Dominion. But I have a lot of catching up to do. And this branch has a great selection of DVDs' for check out. Everything from comedy, drama, family, horror/sci-fi, westerns, war films, and foreign. Even anime. Plenty of books and CDs' too. Availability is an issue. Some days, the newer releases may be checked out, with only older titles available. And some days, new releases are plentiful. Feast or famine. Space is plentiful here. As well as activities for the whole family. Fiber Art Classes are currently available along with technology classes. Both the interior/exterior of the library is kept clean, making it inviting and comfortable. And the library staff are friendly and helpful, welcoming you as you enter. DVD titles are available for one week, and the library system has just started an automatic renewal system, checking out your titles for another week. Which gives you more time for returning. With school being out for the summer, the library is family friendly in the mornings and afternoons. And there is plenty of parking available. Plenty of summer reading available too. read more

Liars! of the women named Gabby left a message saying a book would be held til the 17th, I came there on the 15th and and was told that the book was sent back. It's 2 days before the 17th yet prematurely the book was sent back?? This makes me mistrust this branch! False information! They shouldn't lie and tell a specific date and when I go there book isn't there. Lazily they don't want to leave title so that I can request it again. If I could give zero stars I would! read more

I just recently became a library member for orange county. This specific library is very close to my house, which I love! You can use your library card for any existing orange county library. There are several. This location is very spacious. You can take many different classes like tech savy computer, salsa dancing, Spanish basics, and many more! They have a GREAT program for children. They just recently had someone from PBS come and visit. There were tons of kids. The computer area is great, you can print for a small charge and check out over 100 books at one time. The staff at this location is great and helpful with anything you need in regards to books or where to find them. I would recommend anyone to come by and visit! read more

Such a beautiful library! I think this is one of the nicest ones in the area. It's located on Chickasaw Trail and has its own parking lot. Everything is very clean, organized, and very modern compared to other libraries in Orange County. The open layout works well with various seating areas throughout the space so that groups can meet or individuals can study. They have a cute little outdoor area too with chairs to enjoy when the weather is nice. The staff greeted me on the way in and they have some great programs for kids, teens, and adults. Some require advanced registration on the website but some you can just show up to. The OCPL website has a helpful calendar for the programs that is frequently updated. Apparently libraries nowadays are for kids to run around and scream. Even with noise cancellation headphones, I sat in the corner trying to study for 2 hours while back to back kids coming in, having no respect for the aspect of being in a library. Adults think it's ok with SHHH really loudly "as if the kid was gonna listen to that anyways", high pitch screams from toddlers, elementary kid running around, adults making a lot of noise.... What happened to being quiet in a library?? Why are parents bringing their hyper kids here?? Staff has no control over this. If you want to study, literally going to Starbucks during rush hour would be quieter than a library. Downtown library was just the same. They even have a little kids section here promoting this behavior!! Ridiculous read more

I've been visiting this branch every day during the month of July 2023,I am part of a school summer program , bringing the kids every day to be part of the different activities provided daily is being a gratifying experience. I have to said is a great place to bring your children and be part of the fun with them. read more

This library is not only clean but the staff are really friendly. I usually stop here to do some studying or a CE with my iPad. The only downside is the school across when being released goes straight here and it's like a zoo madness lol. They go in and out and the heavy doors slams closed countless times. Not the most pleasant experience when the students come in. I would only go here during the early morning until maybe 2 pm if you want quietness. read more

As this is one of the newest branches of the Orange County Library System, it looks fantastic! A good amount of room in this one! The one issue here: The patrons. Lots of people get in your way, and if you visit this branch after 3pm on a weekday, it's flooded with kids from the school across the street! The computer area can get pretty packed, too. I come here most because it's close to me, and it's good enough, I guess. Decent branch. read more
