I used this provider's online scheduling system expecting a straightforward booking process, only to find out afterward that my appointment couldn't even be confirmed without submitting insurance information separately. If insurance details are required to schedule, why isn't that built into the online booking flow? Instead, the system lets you think you've successfully made an appointment, only to follow up later and say they can't actually schedule you yet. It's a poor user experience and feels misleading. This comes across less like a true scheduling system and more like a lead capture tool that creates extra back-and-forth for the patient. For something as basic as booking an appointment, this should be much more streamlined and transparent. Not a great first impression. Response to Business: I think the confusion is coming from the inconsistency between what your office communicated and what you're describing here. Your team explicitly stated they could not add or confirm the appointment without insurance information. Amazing experience. My 16 year old had an ingrown toe nail and Dr Yang was amazing at explaining everything And the procedure.

I was very nervous about going to a podiatrist because I've been in horrible pain. My foot feels like I'm walking on sharp rocks. I was also expecting to be told I need to have bunion surgery. Nope! Dr. Coyer had a look and carefully scraped away at my callouses. I felt no pain! His final words, "Never let anyone tell you that you need bunion surgery. Don't do it!" It was the most pleasant appointment with a doctor I've ever had! He gave me a 1/4" metatarsal pad before I left to relieve the pressure on my foot from wearing dressage tall boots all day. I had an odd swelling on my second toe on my left foot. It was a bit itchy, but didn't hurt. I scheduled a meeting online on the same day and after filling out the paperwork as a new patient I was in and out within 40 minutes. Dr. Coyer was honest with me. Since there wasn't any pain, he couldn't pinpoint exactly a cause. He went with his best opinion which was that it could be something with the tiny vessels within the feet not getting enough blood just a skin irritation. He didn't want to go extreme with antibiotics or even an x-ray when he didn't think it was needed which I appreciated. I set out with using the topical cream I have for my eczema & ice to try and get the puffiness down. The new offices in the Hoag Medical Center is nice, clean and modern. If I do have any podiatry needs, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. I recommend Dr. Coyer. read more

Dr. Coyer took terrible care of my best friend. She went in last week for follow-up treatment for an infected toe nail. Dr. Coyer told her that he needed to "remove her toe nail". He then provided some numbing shots into her foot. Dr. Coyer did not provide any reassurance as he rushed right into the procedure without checking that her foot/toe was completely numb before removing the toe nail, she was totally in pain! She was shaking and crying the whole time! Dr. Coyer's lack of bedside manner coupled with his lack of compassion made matters worse. He was simply rushing her out so that he could help a full office of patients...guess his focus is making money. My friend was told she could go back to work (not at all likely as she was in extreme pain). My friend asked about limitations, such as driving. Dr. Coyer asked her if she knew how to drive? Odd question. She was provided with such simple after-care instructions that she had to look online for better information. She stayed home from work the rest of the week as she was in such pain and could barely walk! Because of my friend's experience---I will not recommend Dr. Coyer to anyone! read more

Dr. Coyer is the best! I made the mistake of watching on YouTube an ingrown toenail removal video so I was extremely nervous. I even brought my own vomit bag to my appointment. Dr. Coyer assured me that I would not feel a thing after the initial numbing injection. He did not lie. He used a cold spray on my toe prior to the injection and I didn't even feel that. It took less than 5 min and I did not have any pain even when the lidocaine wore off. He also addressed my plantar fasciitis issue. The office staff is very nice also. Great experience. **** My 400th Review **** Okay, I admit I was a bit nervous reading the reviews while I was in the waiting room - sure there were a lot of five star reviews, but a lot of them were from people who looked like they coincidentally created an account JUST to write a review for this place. Well, my left foot hurt and this was one of the few places closeby that had availability. I figured, worse case, I could get some insight other than Google about my issue. First off, kudos to the receptionist staff here - easily one of the friendliest and professional office staff I've had the pleasure to deal with. From the initial phone call I made where I booked the appointment, to the first impression I felt on my initial visit, the front desk staff was definitely very friendly with paperwork signing and answering my questions about insurance and coverage. What really caught me off guard was when the medical assistant called my name - and I told the receptionist that I hadn't made my copayment yet and she responded "Oh, we collect copays at the end of your visit, we want to take care of you first." Wow. Definitely a first and sets a different tone when copayment is made after than before - like most other medical places. The wait in the patient office was very brief before Dr. Coyer came in and introduced himself. Almost instantly - and I only get this feeling with a few of the many clinicians I've met throughout my life - I felt a warm and genuine demeanor. Dr. Coyer was very comfortable with probing and palpating my foot to see where the pain may have originated from. We went through a brief medical history with regards to my foot pain and some steps which we would take to address the pain. At no time during the visit did I feel or get the impression like he was rushing me out. He took the time to acknowledge and address any questions (and I had a feel, including some misconceptions I found on Google). Dr. Coyer created a action plan for my foot situation and also suggested some alternatives that I should try such as getting orthotics from REI which I could get for a fraction the cost of custom orthotics that would cost significantly more in-office. He also mentioned that a follow-up appointment would not be necessary if the pain goes away. I really like that Dr. Coyer is sensitive to cost and does not seem like the type of doctor who would order unnecessary procedures or tests, and truly is doing what's right for his patients, with cost and necessity in mind. I don't get foot pain often, in fact, this is the first time in a decade or so that I've visited a podiatrist, but in the future, should the need arise - I definitely would have no issue coming to see Dr. Coyer again. I now see the legitimacy of the other 5-star reviewers and the high rating is definitely warranted. Parking is easy - I didn't have any issue finding a spot despite the lot being shared by a few other medical offices, including an urgent care. I am in charge of taking my 86 year old mother, who has pretty severe dementia, to her many doctor appointments. She had a recurring infection in her toe and went to 2 other podiatrists that made the situation much worse. One of them even caused a secondary infection. He is so caring and so great at communicating clearly with my mom in a way she can understand and has been seeing her weekly and referring her to secondary doctors to find underlying causes.
