The good thing was that the documents that I needed to be served were served. The reason I chose to take stars: -It took (what I consider) a substantial amount of time (nearly 2 months) to serve the documents. When I offered to make the process easier by calling the person to be served when the company intended to serve I was told it would be an extra fee. -I asked for confirmation that they filed the necessary documents with the courts..to date...no response. Overall, too unprofessional for the service that's offered. I would pay a little more for someone who is more reliable. Edit: In response to Michael's comment: Michael did do a follow up (after reading the review). Had he taken a position of trying to resolve the problem, things would have turned out well. However, instead, he was VERY defensive (went down the list of the issues I noted in my review). Ultimately, he acknowledged mailing the documentation to the wrong address. To his credit, he emailed me a copy of the documentation and agreed to mail the originals. He also explained that he does not file documentation with the court (which I understood, but had no documentation to file with the courts myself). After realizing he sent the documentation to the wrong address he apologized. Again, this could've been resolved in a positive way but Michael's attitude got in the way of that. read more

Prior to working with Michael I had never been to court or needed any of these services. He took extra time to answer all of the questions I had and helped me through the confusing process of small claims during COVID-19. Michael actually called me the date of the hearing just to see how it went. Great old school customer service and I will not hesitate to use OCPS again (Hopefully I don't have to). read more

I needed perhaps the simplest thing a person could request from a legal process server; the mailing of a set of documents. I called Michael on a Friday morning and he told me to drop by his office and somehow forgot to mention there was no one in the office. When I arrived, I had everything set up for him to drop in the mailbox -- papers collated and placed neatly inside an envelope which was already addressed and had plenty of postage at the top. All he had to do was drop it in the mail. But when I arrived at his office, no one was there and I had to leave my paperwork with someone at a desk who did not work directly for OC Processors. "No problem," I thought. "He must do this all the time," I thought. I also left my $35 fee and a self-addressed, stamped envelope for him so he could easily mail me the form that allows me to prove the paperwork had been legally served. Three days later, the paperwork was received through the mail as Michael promised. Six WEEKS and many phone calls later, Michael still has not returned my proof of service form (you know, just the one I am obligated to file with the court to prove legal service). I might as well have done nothing at all. The five times I have spoken to Michael on the phone, he has acted as though he would mail it that very day, and still... nothing. I've given him the benefit of the doubt over and over again at this point and now I expect nothing from him. Instead I am going to find another process server and pay to have it done all over again. I realize Michael is a probably busy guy, but he is filled to his brim with excuses and clearly gets his ego bruised quite easily. He consistently mentions and/or blames his "assistant." I don't know if he really has one because nobody ever answered the phone when I called except Michael, but he either needs to fire his current assistant or he actually needs to hire one. I would have been elated to have been able to speak to anyone else on the phone other than Michael. Maybe something might have actually gotten done if I had access to anyone other than him. I cannot recommend this company. Michael has doubled my trouble and my cost for what should have been a simple task, and I am a working professional with no time for this kind of unprofessional game. Time is money and I'd rather pay to have another more dependable process server do this again for me than to hear a single excuse more from this Michael at OC Process Servers. read more

It is important that I spend a few minutes to address Michael's most recent updates and flat out lies: First - Mr. Delaney is inaccurate in claiming that my bank conducted an inquiry into my dispute of his charges and found them to be accurate and warranted. Charles Schwab sent him my dispute which he failed to respond in a timely manner for which they provided a provisional credit. When he did finally respond with the authorization for payment, my bank accepted that alone as sufficient. They never investigated the quality of his service, on time delivery of his service (or better yet THE LACK THEREOF) or his flat-out absolute lack of professionalism - all of which are relevant to my review and documented in images and details which Mr. Delaney has spent the better part of 9 months asking Yelp to delete WHICH THEY HAVE NOT. See also my Better Business Bureau inquiry regarding the same matter, wherein BBB ruled against him and found his responses to be insufficient, inadequate, and flat out wrong when I presented them with the facts. Second - Michael is blatantly and unrepentantly LYING when he says that I threatened him and his staff and any further assertions as such will result in me publicly posting the recordings of our phone calls on appropriate forums to prove such and possibly pursuing further legal actions against him. Importantly, he has NO employees and the only person other than Michael I ever spoke to during the course our business was a receptionist at his VIRTUAL office location (aka Michael has no physical office presence) (in the City of Orange) who informed me that she didn't work for him but for Regus Virtual Offices and to direct my communications to him alone. I only spoke with her briefly to find out how to pay him - that is all. I invite Michael to present the names, times, phone records, or correspondence I made to any of his so called "staff" where I threatened him or them. I also invite him to present the details of ANY police report he filed wherein they were "contacted". THESE ARE FLAT OUT LIES. Again, our phone calls were recorded and I am happy to post them on appropriate forums to settle any doubts. I have continued to diligently respond to Michael's lies in what I consider at this point to be a public service. BE WARNED and do not say I didn't tell you. If you have something of importance to be served there are so many significantly CHEAPER and MORE RELIABLE options including the local Sheriffs - USE THEM and save yourself what I can only describe as the most disparaging, disgusting, and despicable treatment from anyone who ever took your money. read more

Unprofessional. Rude. Just cares about the money, he is lazy and just wants the easy jobs. He isn't concerned about helping to protect people who are in serious dangerous situations. He's been doing this job so long now, he's jaded and each person he helps is just another dollar sign. I prefer to have my money returned to me since he couldn't even properly do the job. I told Michael the person to be served makes a living at taking advantage of others, so he's going to be extremely elusive. The first day Michael went near the residence to do some reconnaissance. I gave Michael over 4 months and more than $200 to serve a licensed house cleaning service in Long Beach, CA. Not only did he fail to complete the job, he didn't even have the courtesy to respond to my calls or emails with updates about the case or to inform me whether or not I should ask for an extension. My trial date is tomorrow morning and I haven't heard back from him since January. If I wasn't so sick and tired of the legal process already, I'd file a small claim against Orange County Process Server for essentially stealing from me. The service I've received so far is not comparable to other reviews/services I read before choosing OCP. I've tried communicating through email and phone and have not received a valid response and I was hung up on. Very unprofessional! I did not hesitate to pay for the service or to provide the appropriate documents on time so I'm not sure why it's taking so long to finalize the service. Beware! The owner of this business is extremely unethical. I went directly from Lamoreaux Justice Center to his office at 333 City Blvd on the 17th floor. As instructed I left a copy of my court documents and a check for this service amount. After several phone calls to Michael Danley the owner, he finally served the court papers 10 full days later. He called me right after the other party was served and commented on how nice he thought the other party was. When I asked him when I would be receiving my proof of service in the mail so that I could file it with the court as required he replied about 4 days and abruptly hung up on me. I week later I still hadn't received the proof of service that is required for the court. I called him yet again and he was extremely rude and said oh well I sent it and hung up on me again. He cashed my check the day after the service and yet I never ever received my proof of service. Only did I find out that he had actually befriended the person I had him serve. Completely unethical. Like I said beware, I would never recommend this business to anyone. read more
