After a gap, on a nice day we decided on a whim to give it a go. They offer 2 tours.... one 30 minute and one 75 minutes. We gave the 30min tour ago first at a reasonable $30 PP. We booked through the website for the same day and it worked very well with no probs. The website is well done and explains all you need to know about tours, prices, hiring etc. So we turn up to the ramp about 20mtrs up the Causeway to Granite Island, where the boat picks up and drops of. The boat seats 10...looks fun!!! We were greeted by owner/operator Dan, who was friendly, efficient, he explained the safety rules and handed our life jackets (spray jackets were available for splashing but thats all the fun!!!). On boarding we left the Causeway slowly and headed to Granite Island....once far enough out Dan hit the gas and we enjoy an exciting, speedy trip, bouncing of waves and skimming the water. We head to Seal Island.....a small granite island where we see several seals including cubs frolicking on the rocks.....we were given plenty of time to photograph and watch them. Next we headed in the same speedy fashion to the shore of Encounter Bay, where Dan had said dolphins had been seen recently. He obviously knew his stuff as within minutes of arriving at least 2 pods of dolphins played around the boat for ages. Unfortunately being the 30minute tour our time was up and we heading back attacking waves and being sprayed by seawater splashes.......very refreshing on a warm day. Dan was a great guide, and while the trip was taking place constantly spoke to us about the places and there history as well as knowlegde of wildlife in the area. Next time i go back i am certainly doing the longer tour..... I can't wait......it was awesome!!

The crew and guide were all excellent and professional, we felt very safe and looked after at all times. The weather was quite bad the day we did our trip but the supplied plastic/rubber 'ponchos' kept use very warm and dry.

Apparently there are tasting events here all the time. The cafe has a beautiful terrace with a huge garden, so it would be completely reasonable to get some food here and just sit outside for the afternoon. There's a half-price coupon for coffee in the free tourist magazine, you can pick it up at the counter and use it at the coffee shop right away. In the next room is an art gallery showing paintings and sculptures from local artists. We spent most of the afternoon here and then it was already time to go home!

This wildlife enclosure is located in Adelaide South Australia. When you first enter the compound you follow the path to a large enclosed bird atrium. There were so many beautifully colored birds flying about playing games with each other. One parrot even landed on my head! See posted picture. The birds were very friendly, and none of them pooped on me. I purchased a bag of kangaroo food and did not have to go far before I was being stalked by a mob of these cute creatures. I believe the groundskeeper said they house approximately 200 kangaroo. The kangaroos were free to roam the large property. They were very friendly, though the Park makes you sigh a liability waver just in case you get hurt. I got to pet and play with wallabies and a cute baby joey. If you want to pet a koala, make sure to look at the time on your program that tells you when they take him out. An interesting and kinda scary fact is that koalas, even though they are cute and cuddly, they do not like to be approached. They have very sharp claws and teeth. The keeper gives strict instructions to only pet the shoulder blade/back area because they have a bone plate there and they cannot feel you touching them. Urimbirra also has a large reptile exhibit. Other animals to see were Dingo, possum, alligator, deer, fox, sambar, wombat, and one of my favorites a Tasmanian devil. There is a small restaurant and gift area located at the entrance of the park. You can also pack a lunch and have a picnic with the wildlife. This was a big highlight on my trip to Australia. I have never been able to get so up close and personal with so many types of animals before.

I found out about this place from a co-worker who highly recommend us to visit. It's not that big…read moreplace but if you just want to feed the kangaroos and get up close with koala, that's the place to go. My in-law was here to visit us and really wanted to see Kangaroos and koalas, this was the best place for us to being her. It's only $15 per person and you get stay there as long as you'd like. You can also pet the koala for free and take selfie. There are also some other animals there as well. Staff are very friendly and a gift shop on the way out for you to bring home.

In those towns that are popular with tourists and day-trippers there seems to be at least one pub…read morethat they all flock to. Well, this happens to be that pub, and it certainly does meet its needs. They have a pretty awesome beer garden out the back, and they have a great range of beers as well. Oh, and the location next to the park is just perfect. Mind you, it does get pretty packed on those days the day-trippers flock down, but as a pub it is definitely pretty cool.
