This place is phenomenal…read more I am so emotional after my business meeting there today that I almost can't take it. My grandmother didn't have that much dementia, but the place where we "placed" her was not nearly as wonderful as this Emeritus location. I think she would have been a great candidate for one of their "wings" - if only she had lived here and not in Rome, maybe we could have had her there. Here's the deal - Emeritus has 11 metro-Atlanta facilities, four that are dementia-specific, so to speak, and over 400 locations nationwide. From meeting with one of the key folks today, and meeting other staff and directors, it is clear that they are committed to the very best in patient care and treatment. Each resident has a nameplate on the door, and a photo/collage type thing next to their door with whatever they feel portrays them best- family pics, notes, etc. Even better, the four "sections" of the facility are decorated like....things that make you happy! My favorite was the "beach" themed room- and the hair salon! In one corner of a wing, they even have an old-fashioned mirror/dressing table and vintage dresses next to it. Wow. Beyond the aesthetics, it was clear that the staff really cares, and that anyone whom I love would be well tended to at this place...I witnessed staffers calling everyone they saw by name, carefully tending to the sofas in the lounge area, checking on people in their rooms or in the common dining area or group activity area. Really, it was - overwhelming. Bob Carr and staff do an incredible job, it seems - if I get totally *out there* one day, for whatever reason, this is the kind of place I would want to be.

Both Joe and Allis welcomed us and spent a great deal of time sharing their vision and commitment to their residents. We brought mom back for a visit and she immediately fell in love with them and the facility. Their warm and caring personalities made mom feel very secure and they immediately became friends. When move in day came, mom was anxious but at ease with how smoothly it went. She settled in almost immediately. Both Joe and Allis are exceptional people who care deeply for their residents. As mom began to have physical difficulties, they knew what to do and how to respond to every need. Mom often said how secure she felt and how much she loved being there. Our family was extremely pleased with everything that they did for mom. If you are looking for a safe, supportive, involved care center for your loved one, we can without hesitation recommend Hamilton Mill Senior Care. They are awesome !!

I visited very frequently and the place was always spotless and the staff was so personal, loving and attentive. Even when nobody was around my grandmother would tell us how much she loved the people there and she felt like this is where she belonged. On the day we had to say goodbye to my grandmother the owners and staff were not only there for my grandmother but for us the family as well. One of the assistants made a point to tell us she loved her and to make sure we knew her favorite song. That spoke volumes to me about the personal relationship my grandmother had with them. This home and the people that run it felt more like family than a business. I will always be grateful for them.

The kitchen staff tries hard to work with little, so not on them, but the meals are the kink in the Rehabs armor. Over cooked vegetables, under cooked rice and mostly boring mains. Rooms are either single or double room. You should never expect much from these places. You do get what you ask for eventually. Sometimes you get oral care and baths if staff have time. But these places are usually short staffed and services and far and few in between. We spent a week here after my mother in law had a stroke and was eventually transitioned to hospice. Our family had a decent experience. We adored our nurse Charleen and CNA Jackie in particular. They were more compassionate, patient, and detail oriented. We befriended quite a few residents while we were there since my children and I spent hours there daily. That really helped to have the whole community of residents and their family members lean in and help take care of us when the staff couldn't. For the residents that have been in rehab before, they did say that Briarwood is their preference. They do get seen daily by the doctors, PT's, and OT's. And although service is slow they seem to get what they need. There were a few disgruntled residents who would on occasion scream for their pain medicine to be on time, especially in the evenings. Overall I was still pleased enough with our experience. I could tell that a lot of the staff were overworked and many of them were truly trying their best. I will miss both the staff and residents that we became really close with. When you share food, gifts, and stories during a time of great trial, the kindness and power of the human spirit really does leave a mark.

Ms. Larrier was very professional and her empathy towards her patients health issues was amazing. Yes!! I'm a 40+ woman who's body is in worst shape than some of these vibrant, full of life seniors I had to hop pass trying to find my way to the pool area. Yes! I said hop.... Geesh! go figure. Heck they where looking at me as though they wanted to ask if they could help me. Unfortunately today was just a medical visit. While hopping around (LOL!) I did noticed how elegant and huge the Sterlings Estate is. It has a very welcoming entrance with whom I believe maybe a concierge to help you with what your looking for or answer any questions you may have. Today was a nice gentleman standing in waiting. Again looking at me like..... he was waiting for me ask to be pointed in the direction of my grandmother or something. NOPE!!!! He was polite with telling me the way to my destination. The Sterlings has a grand dining area with plenty of seating. I noticed also they have what looked like a coffee area, wellness center and plenty more activities for the seniors in your life to enjoy. I'm here today to get the full benefits of their heated salt water pool. The Sterlings offer Aqua therapy for people who don't live on campus. My health insurance had them on the list of places to choose from. I chose The Sterling Estates, because I have driven pass about 4 times and thought to myself.... Those look like a nice community for my mom or great aunt to live. Not knowing I will be the one visiting before them. But a least I had the pleasure of seeing what little of the community I could see. And I can say it was a memorable one.

They absolutely need better top staff members. Never try to reach the "nurse". She is unavailable by phone. They seemed to be really on top of things prior to our actual move in. Not the case at this point. The actual facility certainly needs a face lift. There are no automatic doors to the interior garden and patio area. Thus, if you are in a wheelchair you are not going out without help. If you decide to dine in your room, your meal is brought to you in a styrofoam box at the end of the meal service in the dining room. So you are going to get your meal an hour later. Oh great, almost in time for you to go for the next meal. I will not go on. Most of the residents are happy there. But, let's be real. Change is hard enough who is going to move again?
