Whether you're a full-time, part-time or sometime veggiesaurus, the Veggie Patch Diner will please…read moreall plant-based leanings. It isn't entirely 'super food' or 'raw food' but more accurately; 'comfort food' on the vegetarian dining spectrum. Inside its a humble diner-style place with light wood furnishings and a sunny courtyard out the back. Most of the food is on display at the front and ready-to-assemble if you're in a rush. Like burgers? Well, you'll be spoilt for choice here if you're a vego. There are about 5 different kinds; like zucchini and feta, cajun spiced tofu or chipotle smoked mushroom. Personally, I cant go past the mixed plate. A rainbow of whatever the daily salads, edame falafel, changing dips - oh dips! - house made pickles and pita bread. It will fill you up good. Healthy, hearty, homely food.

The burgers are incredibly tasty for vegetarian food. I had the olive and almond burger. The mix of the beetroot relish, mayo, tomato relish were flavoursome, just like a great burger, and they were oozing out of the burger. The sweet potato chips with basil mayo are the bomb!!! I ordered them everytime I see the truck and here at the diner, I was presented with a bigger serving. They are my favourite chips in Sydney. Service is so-so, the food came out fast. You order at the counter and water is self-service. Decor is like that of a cute trendy cafe but nothing special. Food is the highlight here. Hours after lunch, I'm still salivating over the burgers and sweet potato chips. Cannot wait to return.

D&B delivers what it promises - dumplings and beer. This is a tiny place near Kings Cross, and it…read morewould be easy to miss since they just have a sign on the door. Inside, there are maybe 3 tables, a counter with 6 seats and a mezzanine with a few more tables. Call ahead (they take reservations) - things get served quickly so a wait shouldn't be too long. We stopped during happy hour so got a discount on large beers and a very nice Sauv Blanc. As for food - it's mostly dumplings with some steamed buns. Most dumplings come in orders of 4, so you can get a bit of variety if you're hungry. Others have mentioned the duck sliders ($11) and they're great - succulent duck with a bit of hoisin and some veggies for crunch. Dumplings wise, we had steamed pork, pork and shrimp and of course soup dumplings (9.90 each). All of them were delicious and made in house. The soup dumplings were my favorite - they had delicate skins and the filling/soup was incredible. Prices are really reasonable - 3 orders of dumplings, 2 orders of buns and 4 drinks - about $60.

What a fun restaurant! We stayed nearby and I was craving some dumplings. We headed to this place…read moreafter seeing the positive reviews. The space is smaaaalll, luckily we got there early enough to snag a table! Typically, you would need reservations. We sat on the second level at a counter overlooking the door and a movie they projected on the wall. We were there for happy hour, so we had a couple beers. We tried 3 food items, the scallion pancakes, pan fried dumplings, and xlb. They were all solid, though not the best ever. The scallion pancakes were really different than any I have ever had....really thick. They weren't bad. Overall, we felt the restaurant was a bit expensive for what we got and not the most comfortable ever, but it was still a good experience.
