Meet my new pharmacy, even though instead of being a half mile from me it's inconveniently more like 3-4 miles, and here's why: reliable service that's above and beyond what others are offering. It's not even close. Before you get the idea I'm a pill popping-got 20 prescription meds in my bathroom-3 times a day gotta get my fix... Nope. I take no prescription medicines. Zip. But I *do* get routine COVID tests for travel outside the U.S. and I got my booster shot here, so much more convenient than others. And last night, received my RT-PCR COVID test results less than 12 hours after submission. No worrying if I'm going to receive my results on time for my flight. I'm hooked on this little family owned business. My regular old pharmacy is nice enough, but they're deathly slow, offer no testing in spite of being a massive corporation. A previous trip with my wife we both got tested at another large, recognizable national corporate pharmacy. You know the one. Bright lights, right on the corner, big parking lots, no pretense of fitting into the community, their profits streaming out of state. I digress. We got results, alright. Mine 2 days after I was *in* Canada, meaning the tests were over 48 hours beyond the 2-3 days advertised and utterly worthless, and my wife's test they completely lost even though we took them at the same time, depositing the materials in the same repository. Thanks, CVS. Oops, didn't mean to actually name them. Not even worth reviewing on Yelp. We only made it to Canada thanks to Orchard. But this place: they'll talk to you, they understand you may be traveling, they get the importance. One gentleman even told us, "if you are getting close to your flight and you don't have the results we can call the lab for you." Service as it should be. So from now on my business goes here. I rarely get something, an occasional flu shot and that's about it, but if the time ever comes and I need something, I'm here. And I intend to tell everyone about them. They're the best. read more

These guys have the best systems in place! If you are wanting Covid testing or vaccines, they make it so simple and fast. And getting my prescriptions refilled is super easy-they send me a text of what I want refilled and then let me know when it's ready. They will even deliver it if I need! Who does that!! I tried Orchards back in 2011 when Walgreen's refused to fill an rx that both my OBGYN and primary Doctor said was low risk & necessary to avoid further stress and complications in my pregnancy. When my husband called Orchards Drug to see if they would fill the physicians orders, they were completely professional and understanding. One of the pharmacists, Mark, stayed open late to meet with my husband so we could have it immediately. He explained the medication and side effects. Ethically he recognized that when the physician and OB have determined it necessary to my care, he did not need to interfere with judgement. Ever since then I was sold. We switched all medications over to them. Sally is another pharmacist there and both are very knowledgeable and comprehensive with their consultations. I've been there when elderly customers come in and staff are always so polite, asking the customers about their family and what they've been up to. The service is exactly what you would want from your pharmacy. As another reviewer mentioned, when I need to buy an over the counter product they are great with recommending the best product and making sure you are getting the best value. My stepdaughter needed to use an inhaler temporarily when ill and Mark took the time to show her exactly how to use it and then had her take a dose there so he could give her more tips and guide her through the process. You can't beat the service and care you get at Orchards. Bonus: they deliver! read more

Honestly, I keep loving this place more each time. Granted, I still don't have any prescriptions (knock on wood), but I do go here for cold meds, allergy meds, and other stuff and they're always very helpful with, as I keep discovering, crazy good prices. Case in point - I'm fighting a wicked head cold and have no medicine. Finding it difficult to make it through my work day (my office is just down the street), I roll over to Orchards for some meds. Sure enough, I am not inside for 5 seconds before I am asked if I need any help. The woman helping me listened to what I was suffering and recommended a simple decongestant. She asks me if I can do the generic stuff in order to save some money, which I can. I also picked up a box of Kleenex, and the whole thing was $8.50 or so (with tax) for the Kleenex + 24 cold pills. I moved up to Lawrence freshman year to start at KU and I really struggled to find a pharmacy I liked. I went to Watkins but it took days to just get my one prescription so I looked for pharmacies close to my dorm and ended up finding Orchards Drug because it's right up the street from daisy hill. I couldn't have been more happy with the quick service. Also I was so lost with figuring out insurance and what not and the pharmacists made me feel so comfortable and helped me figure it all out. They help call my parents and get all the information they needed. I've been with Orchards for the past 5 years and I couldn't be happier. read more
