About two weeks ago, I went out to pay my respects to my Dad and Niece. Also to trim up around…read moretheir markers so grass/weeds don't obliterate them to the point of being illegible. This is something I have done for the last 42 years. I was very shocked at the overall condition of the cemetery grounds. They've obviously only mowed once or twice all summer as most of the grass is near dead and now weeds (thistle, clover, etc.) are taking over. Almost all the trees and bushes are dead as they look as if they haven't been watered in years. I was even more upset as I observed a vehicle had rolled right over the markers of my Dad and Niece! Only by luck were they not broken or fractured into a million pieces! This has never happened before. Of course there wasn't any one around in the office area during their "open" hours to explain any of this. It looked as if a vehicle just turned off the road at an angle , plowing over several markers in the process. I have photos but not sure how to upload yet. I bought my own burial plot there, 30 years ago, but will now probably sell it. It doesn't look like anybody has done any maintenance, much less watering, there in a few years. I also saw their little resevoir was full of water at the time of my visit. This is the worst I've ever seen this place in 42 years. It looks awful. Very, very disappointing!

Also did a little visit on a rare fall day and it's like they haven't even tried to start fall clean up the leaves are so deep and the dirt roads are inaccessible. It makes me rethink about starting a new family plot in another area and maybe just start a new one at highland. I am going to discuss it with my family and see what they think so disappointed.

Everyone at Newcomer Funeral Home is so incredibly kind and caring. The facility itself is far from the dark, depressing image you might have of a funeral home. It's feels warm, gentle and comforting. I can't say enough good things about these people. They made a truly horrible experience bearable. They are all genuinely kind and caring, and it's clear that this is the type of people they really are and not a "face" they put on as part of their job. I will be forever grateful to the people at Newcomer Funeral Home here in Casper, WY.
