Attached to the market but independently owned is the Ying Korean Chicken Street Food Style restaurant. There is also a phone fix it kiosk at the entrance to the market. Th inside of the market was clean and well organized. There is a fresh juice and smoothie stand. The rest of the market is the typical grocery store items along with produce and a meat counter. The produce looked fresh and they had some interesting things you might not find everywhere like sugar cane stalks and chicharon pasta. They even sold pots and pans. The groceries however were very expensive. For example a small bottle of sesame oil was $12. With so many businesses in one spot this was still an interesting stop.

I bought a few sauces to try and make some new Chinese dishes at home. Also bought some ramen. They have a whole wall of snacks as well. But on the other note they have fresh breads and cooler in the back with fresh veggies. I didn't go down other aisles but they have others that I'm sure have a bunch of good foods. All the vendors were very kind and more than willing to explain their products and some even gave free samples to try out! I will say toward beginning of April is when there isn't crowds at all so definitely the best time to visit and walk around without feeling like you're running into people. I've never been before, so it was nice to have a chance to stroll down the middle of the street between the displays and to see all their wares. The market stretched for quite a few blocks down Clematis Street which was closed to car traffic. There were a lot of people selling clothing and jewelry. A couple folks had collectibles/antiques. I'm not sure why it's still called a "green" market as we didn't see much edibles/food nor produce. The street was quite busy. I'm not sure how much selling the vendors were doing, however. I thought prices of many of the items were quite high. Then again the folks slumming from the "island" (palm beach) wouldn't mind a bit. Although we didn't buy anything, we always enjoy browsing.

I'm so glad I found one that is open everyday and basically all day! They mentioned that following their Facebook page provides the most updated information. They actually post everyday about what is available. They also seems to have pretty comparable pricing to other farms and right now, they are selling a bunch of varieties of mangos for only $2.99 per pound. Some farms are selling them for $6-7 a pound so this is a steal! They have different farms that bring produce over to them to sell, so you know you are still getting farm fresh produce and fruits! We went on a weekend and they still had a good selection of items around noon, but it recommended to go by 8-10am if you want to get the first pick of the day.

Having been around for almost 50 years, Union Bakery may be no frills, but there is no lack of flavor in the food, and the staff are always super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very home-y, with wood paneling and some signage that may have been around for the entire existence of the spot, which gives makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. My best friends, their kids, and I come here for one of the best yet simplest breakfasts that you can find anywhere in town: eggs over easy, perfectly fried potatoes, the crispiest bacon you will ever encounter, buttery Cuban bread, and a cafe con leche. When I tell you that this is the crispiest bacon you will find, I mean, it's a pile of bacon that crumbles in your mouth, is salty and smoky, and yet, teeters on the edge of being too well-done, but it's actually just perfect. I think you can tell how much I think about this bacon on a daily basis. The bread is buttered for the gods, great to make an egg sandwich, dipped in gooey yolk, and/or dipped in coffee. Why not all three, since there's plenty of each? I will never get tired of this breakfast, and always love how taken care of I feel from beginning to end by the friendly staff.
