I didn't get to explore the rooms much, though what I did get to see had a good amount of space in an understated, quiet design. I really only got to spend the time at their function rooms, but you could tell that the place was still new, what with all their tablecloths and runners still immaculate. Our small function area was pretty cold, so you could tell the air conditioning was in check. Even their drink dispensers and heated coffee pitchers were impressive. The best test for a good hotel though is always the food, and their food was great. When you've been shuffling around holding a camera up to document something you're not really interested in, you get tired and bored fairly quickly. The lunch buffet made it all worth it. You can tell the chefs know what they're doing when chicken done in big batches is still moist and soft. Chicken is easy to screw up, and they did the meat right. That alone is worth a star. Good job, Brentwood Suites.

Absolutely loved and enjoyed our visit at the Manila Hotel. It was trip down memory lane for my…read morefamily and I. We came here after Father's Day weekend and had brunch at Cafe Ilang Ilang. The Manila Hotel is beautiful and the history of it all speaks volumes. The architecture, art pieces and ambience highlights the culture and foundation of this amazing hotel. When walking inside Manila Hotel they have many beautiful Filipiniana gowns displayed by many different artists. Each gown is meticulously pieced together by Filipino artists and stylists. It was important for us to see this hotel as we pass on the importance of culture and history to our children. I remember when I was much younger my grandparents and grandfather would take us here for lunch and during the summer when I'm off school with family and friends. The Manila Hotel has sentimental value for our family (on both sides). My grandfather was a prominent lawyer in the 70s, 80s and 90s. When he was busy working and meeting clients here, he would make sure to have us picked up and brought here so he wouldn't miss dinner with us. Love the aesthetics of the hotel along with the paintings that hang along the hotel and the hallway towards Cafe Ilang Ilang. Felt the history of it all when I last visited Manila Hotel at 8 years old. Thankful to be able to visit this place and show our child the rich history of Manila Hotel so she can write about it. Will be staying here on our next visit. We can't wait.

Philippines Review #11…read more During my last visit to Manila I stayed in this modern, contemporary boutique hotel, the A-Venue Suites. Since then this property was purchased / taken over by Best Western. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/best-western-plus-antel-hotel-makati?select=EmMipKQ-OFYfM32mqQ036A LOCATION: On Makati Avenue, adjacent to the A-venue mall. You'll find some shops and restaurants there, plus a few others in the surrounding area. It's a 5 to 15 minute taxi ride (depending on traffic) to the much larger and nicer Greenbelt mall complex. One time due to heavy traffic I decided to walk to and from Greenbelt, which was good exercise, but it was quite a long (and sweaty) walk. The lobby has a clean, contemporary look to it. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/best-western-plus-antel-hotel-makati?select=o2tisgXoe4zR5fYM02kaRQ I booked this location because I liked the look and the price. I decided to "splurge" and book a 1 bedroom suite. Fortunately at the time, was only like $58++ US (P2700) per night, which I thought was fantastic. Breakfast was included each morning, as well as free in room wi-fi. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/best-western-plus-antel-hotel-makati?select=4ANc3hfuhUqIHWRzb5koLA http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/best-western-plus-antel-hotel-makati?select=soIoR99Iq1OUlE5Nj_pRZA The room had a kitchenette too, but couldn't do any actual cooking as there was only a microwave. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/best-western-plus-antel-hotel-makati?select=lq7DhvYj1ScpwBNfmjB1QQ A pretty nice gym was available for guest use too. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/best-western-plus-antel-hotel-makati?select=ENitK21c9RSm_tl99RBPng I also enjoyed this impressive, covered but outdoor infinity edge pool on the 5th floor. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/best-western-plus-antel-hotel-makati?select=LQ7ZYGQm7m519MoLg_ngPQ OVERALL: A very nice boutique hotel in a pretty good location, close to some restaurants and entertainment, plus just a short taxi ride to the large Greenbelt mall complex.

Experience Date: 10.06.2015…read more We went to visit my friends who were staying here in Tower 1. Even though we were not staying guests, staff were very friendly and amazing. The lobby was not that big but it sure was clean and trendy. The room had a small kitchen and it was enough for a small family. The bed was comfortable, the view was okay. It's placed in a convenient area. There were drugstores, eateries, grocery, malls and there was even a bazaar. If you like arts, why not visit Ayala Museum or Yuchengco Museum? If you like malls, go visit Power Plant Mall, Glorietta or Greenbelt.
