She soon came back and told me NO, and x-rays would $319. SEEMS LIKE THIS PLACE IS THINKING ABOUT THEIR OWN FINANCIAL GAIN, INSTEAD OF THEIR LOYAL PATIENTS. I can appreciate that ADA guidelines recommending x-rays every 2 years, but certainly you would think exceptions could be made (well not at this place). I'm really considering canceling my next appointment, and going to a place that BOTH me and my wife can go to, and who appreciates our business. They obviously are doing so well that no exceptions can be made surrounding their absurd x-ray policy. Then, there were detailed descriptions of my teeth recorded along with measurements of my gumline. I have never had a dentist measure my gumline before. Or jot down these descriptions of my teeth. The cleaning by the hygienist was so thorough, I finally understood what after dentist clean meant. That feeling lasted for days afterwards. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Shah and his team. The level of care they provide is top notch! Dr. Shah is not one of those shady dentists who tries to upsell and profit off their patients. I completely trust him with my dental care. He lets me know what he sees as concerning and will be keeping an eye on and always answers any questions I have. Dr. Shah also does a great job of explaining what might need to be done in the future and what my insurance will cover so I can plan for it. Today I chipped my front tooth and was able to come in same day to have a filling put in. I left the office in happy tears because my front tooth looked so good and it was all done so quickly. The team at Sorrento Smiles is amazing. From scheduling, figuring out insurance, communication, and treating you like family. I am so happy I found them! Mira mesa Dental Care is a simple family practice. They do what they are supposed to to do without any fancy upcharges. the entire experience is relaxed...starting with a super friendly receptionist (there are 2 that i've met so far). You might even be lucky enough to catch one of the singing! Dentists are mother & daughter. You have to option to stick with one or the other but I opt to take whoever is available and i really like them both. All the dental assistants are all super friendly and make me feel comfortable. I have recommended them to others and my friends who have gone are also quite happy with them. only disadvantage is that i needed a root canal and that had to be done at another facility. that was new to me but to have such a good and honest dentist...totally worth the slight inconvenience. thank you =)

Because they use the best possible equipment in dentistry, they have optics on whats going on in my mouth that my traditional dentist apparently doesn't. Through this comprehensive consult, they discovered a pretty big abscess/infection in the back right of my bottom jaw through a CT scan in a tooth that apparently doesn't have any nerve pain currently. (I would never have known! Not even my dentist saw this with traditional x-rays. What the heck!!??) Jennifer and I discussed a treatment plan to address ALL concerns and I just realized, through her help, that the incredibly severe Trigeminal neuralgia (facial nerve) pain that had me in tears a few years ago over the course of 3 months that NO DENTIST or root canal specialist could explain and that disappeared just as fast as it appeared. It was highly likely related to the abscess that they discovered last week because of the specialized equipment and overall focus they have on addressing issues from many angles. My body was crying out for help 3 yrs ago after God knows how many years of that infection being there and no one could explain except for this practice. I want to cry. I had an appointment for an extraction which I had to take off of work, then when I get here Dr. Karr thinks they are pulling 2 teeth and I tell her I was told it was 1, then she wants to have a different x-ray done. They come back to tell me that I have to see an oral surgeon (why wasn't I told this prior to taking off). The manager Nancy comes in and tell me basically that the doctor who by the way is the owner that he obviously didn't do the correct x-ray. (Then states my insurance doesn't cover certain x-rays)I'm beyond frustrated with the customer service that I have received from this business. Just like they have a job, so do I. I have lost a day of pay which means that is food taken out of my kids mouth, which by the way I'm a single mother.
