An inviting backyard space that I didn't bother to explore as I nestled at the bar. I have been here before when the music was live and this Friday evening was courtesy of a woman named Laura DJing Colombian, Latin and what I would call Neo Soul music. A really cool mix. The vibe at Danger Danger hinges on the music. They have great drinks on offer and even better food courtesy of Sam Braverman's Lori Jayne. Trevor took my first order, a Tecate beer with lime that hits the spot during the summer. Note, they do not have a tap for draught beer. Then I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with everything, including grilled onions, and fries. The burger was great and deserves special attention. Adding another patty would have put it over the top in retrospect. The fries are good too, but they are of the narrower gauge, not string fries, and some fries will become crisp all the way through. I then ordered a Dangerous Daiquiri 2.0 and a Steak Frites, which, on this occasion, caused me to wonder why I ordered fries with the burger. Fortunately the fries were not as generous with the sliced steak with au poivre. The steak was good and very savory. Some slices evidenced a less than ideal cut with some excess fat and gristle, but this is excellent steak frites. The savory and salty steak frites actually demanded the sweet counterpoint of the Dangerous Daiquiri 2.0. I would not order the slightly sweet daiquiri alone, but the cocktail pairs very well with the steak frites. It is one of the best selling cocktails here, along with the Blackberry Betty. Sam Braverman, if you are reading these, your curry ketchup is excellent. I have had it before. I recommend highly that you add Curry Wurst to the menu. I have searched far and wide for good curry ketchup and you have it. Curry Wurst is street food in Germany and I cannot find that taste, but you got it. You only need the sausages and you have an easy addition to the menu with the fries. Just sayin'.... This is a great spot and Trevor was great. He even spotted and hooked me up with a bar stool in short order. If you come here after 6 or 6:30, seating can be challenging. They have bar seating on the right and some booths on the left. They pulled together custom menus for our event, created a self-serve espresso bar where guests could make their own drinks, accommodated our desired food format, and were constantly checking in to make sure everything was running smoothly. All in all, it was a total dream experience. The food was excellent and the service was world-class. Sydney and the entire team working that day were incredibly kind, efficient, and thoughtful. We were a huge group ordering an insane amount of juices and cocktails, but Sydney never let our chaos show and absolutely crushed it.
