Took a friend of mine there who found a pair of boots she liked. Sales people told her that they were on sale for Black Friday, 40% off. She said they were $725 then take 40% off. After having them held for a short time, she decided to purchase. We got home and she looked them up online. Turns out they marked them up about 40% and then sold them for pretty much the same price we saw them on multiple websites, including the Lucchese website. I really hate dishonesty. My friend wanted to return them just b/c of the deception, but their horrid return policy meant she was stuck with them and a bad feeling in her gut for believing a small business in our great downtown area! If you looked at my previous review, I used to love Orisons. My husband and I shopped there for 12 years, and after yesterday, our trust and loyalty to the store was destroyed. My husband had bought a gift for his brother, and when I went to pick it up, they no longer had it. They blamed an employee who no longer works there instead of taking responsibility. The employee that was working told me I couldn't wait in the store for the manager, and I needed to come back. When the manager called me about 20 minutes later, I headed back to the store. She did try to make things right, transferring deposits, credits, and whatnot. I thanked her and picked up my second layaway. I did not check the layaway as I have been shopping here for 12 years with no issues. When my husband and I unpacked the layaway yesterday evening, we found I was sent home with the wrong necklace. I texted the manager, and she did blame the previous employee, once again not taking responsibility. She then sent me a screenshot showing I never paid for the necklace. When I had been in the store the first time, my final balance was $330, and the necklace was on the layaway. The credits applied added up to a different amount. The manager said that even though I never paid for the necklace, I could keep it as a good faith gesture because of the mess with my brother in laws jacket and my hat disappearing. While I appreciate the gesture, they need to check the POS action log report and see who deleted the necklace. They also need to check the action log to see who either sold or zero out my hat and brother in laws jacket. I've worked on the technical side of the POS industry for almost a decade, so I know that inventory can't just disappear without the reporting recording the changes made. I also want to bring up that the necklace I received had been on display when I came into the store the first time. That, for me, is a red flag. I don't want to make any accusations but it left a bad taste in my mouth being told to leave and then the necklace in my bag was the one on display yesterday, and not the necklace I had put on layaway. This was also what made me decide i would never give Orisons my business again. After venting to a friend in the rodeo community they let me know several other regular customers have had issues with this new employee specifically, and that they would not be shopping with Bonnie this year before NFR because of it. It's obvious to me that Bonnie doesn't need mine and my husband's loyalty, business, or for us to spend our money in her store going forward. I wish Orisons the best but will no longer be spending my money in Bonnie's shop. read more

ALL SALES FINAL in this store. I've gotten a few things here, but I was in the other day and witnessed the sales women being rude to a customer who tried to return a top she purchased as a gift, and it was too large. The customer said she was told she could return it. Either way, retail is too competitive these days to put up with this behavior and absolutely no returns from a high-end boutique. They, of all stores, should work with their customers. For me personally, I stopped enjoying going in because I feel like I need to wear bug spray to keep them from being on you constantly, trying to show you items in the store. They will not let you leisurely shop. Pushy, pushy, pushy. You could probably put on a dress that's too tight in the butt, with the sleeves hanging three-inches from your fingers, and they would still tell you, "you look great" just to make a sale. read more

Bought boots that were on "sale" for $145 (Old West Jama Boots) down from $250 and then found them online for $90-110 with free shipping and free returns. First and foremost, I am a big fan of Orison's friendly staff. They are always extremely nice and helpful when I visit their shop. Everything in the store is so unique and beautiful, I could spend days in there if it wouldn't get me into big trouble with my husband. The items are high quality, and I've never bought anything there that disappointed me. The only reason I gave them four stars and not five is because of the prices. Best store ever!! I bought a great pair of Corral boots on sale, and a beautiful turquoise bracelet that was a vintage piece. They had a great selection of old pawn jewelry and some new turquoise pieces as well as tons of great boots and hats...so much to see here, and they have very friendly staff that knows a lot about their merchandise. I was extremely disappointed in a recent transaction (early Feb) by discovering what I believe to be a very deceptive return policy. I shopped one early evening around 5:00 before closing and found multiple items (spending $1455.00) that I liked. I purchased these items, taking them home to see what I could use potentially for an upcoming trip in June, assuming that any items that I decided to return could be done for a complete credit. I returned a few items literally the next day (20 hours later). To my dismay, there is no refund back to your original form of payment. I actually don't have a problem with the store policy except the fact that this was NEVER mentioned at checkout the day before. Once, the blonde clerk realized I was upset I was not given the time of day. Had I known about their store policy I would have waited on my purchase until the next day when I wasn't so rushed. It's a few simple words at the register...."are you familiar with our return policy"? I was never informed of ANY return policy. No problem there because once I use up my new STORE CREDIT only I will NEVER shop there again. I am a very loyal shopper to many local merchants but I have now told all of my friends to beware and stay clear of THIS store policy. The sales person that was there the day I returned my things was borderline rude. Again, I have no problem with a NO RETURN policy as long as I am informed. Period. I now have a $700 store credit and dread going back to the store. read more
