Sketchy. With an HMO, you have to get a doctor referral to see any specialist. They say I can only get ONE referral per appointment (which I have never run into with any other doctor). When I asked why, they said there is only one referral coordinator per 7 doctors. It definitely seems like they are doing something under the table to keep from having each doc file with insurance. Florida Blue said the doctor I saw was not covered because of missing paperwork, but the doctor's office said I would "just list another doctor as my primary care." read more

I agree, zero stars is appropriate. I wish I had read the other reviews on Yelp before wasting an hour and a half at Orlando Family Physicians. Why does anyone still come here? It's my first visit - I just moved to Orlando - and I thought using the Blue Shield app would give me a decent primary care physician. What a foolish idea. I should also give Blue Shield zero stars. I came 20 minutes early to Orlando Family Physicians on Vineland Ave as they recommended, so I could fill out paperwork for basic authorizations and health record releases. That means I signed and dated *paper* forms ten times. Is this really necessary? I thought electronic health records EHRs had swept the nation. Obviously not here. I wouldn't mind the paper flow except that I then waited for 45 minutes for a nurse practitioner to take my weight and blood pressure, and then wait for another 30 minutes in a *secondary* waiting room. Is this the start of Dante's seven rings of hell? In both waiting rooms people are playing videos without earphones, an HGTV program is blaring on the office TV, and numerous people are taking phone calls. People are coughing and sneezing, and even the nurse practitioner turns aside in our session to sneeze and cough. She doesn't cover her mouth, or sanitize her hands afterwards. This is flu season and even these staff are not following normal hygiene protocols? I guess the question is, why am I still sitting in this secondary waiting room, writing this sh*tty review when I could get out of here and find a good doctor? Must be my mom. She always said she would watch a movie to the end cause she had to find out what happens. I don't think this is a good idea mom. I've watched this stupid movie already. Unfortunately, I think it's time for me to find a new primary care physician. Waiting now 2-1/4 hours in a small, freezing secondary waiting room, in a routine follow up for a minor leg condition. I am fine now, and don't understand why it was taking so long to see a nurse to tell her that, even if she was backed up. I have had a long wait on the past, but never this bad. I appreciate their concern, accepted insurance and extra precautions with 2 follow-up appointments, but this is very disruptive and unorganized. I was told I was next several times. I was seeing so many patients go in before me and didn't see any emergencies. The apologetic reception asked the medical assistant for me as well, and offered to reschedule, which I replied, "No, please no." Additionally, it is very difficult to reach the office by phone before or between appointments. Please prioritize quick follow-ups on time as they don't take long, and hire more to complete the exams. read more

This place pushes you through different tests and has you driving all over town to get blood work, xrays, etc. On top of that, the non-standard things they do in-house weren't covered as part of the regular visit and I was given no warning of this. They push you through things quickly and don't stop to warn you how your insurance might cover it. They're trying to make me pay $80 for breathing into a tube (3 minutes and a puff in a side room). When I consulted with billing I was aggressively told "You signed that paperwork saying you would be responsible" when asking for the fee to be waived for a ridiculous charge. Ok, take the $80 and lose years of my COVERED & PAID care. If you're looking for an office that looks out for you and has your health and wallet in mind, don't come here. I wish I had good things to about this location. It all started with a bad physical exam where I was just asked questions instead of being examined. I was them asked to come back for my lab work with an appointment at 8 am, got my work scheduled changed in order to get this done, got there 15 early, waited 20 minutes (was never acknowledge), asked several times what was taking so long and was just told the keep waiting. I had to leave after waiting 30 minutes and never got help. I regret coming here, they already charged my insurance for a physical exam that was not practiced and now have to go else and pay of pocket. P.S. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! read more

Nothing but problems with this office. Unable to get return calls; when you ask for the doctor the front office personnel NEVER give message or even take messages. I have diabetes and have now waited over 11 days for a P.A. to be signed by my doctor and now jeopardizing my health. If you have a Hispanic name and you don't speak fluent Spanish expect to get spoken to in Spanish even though you continuously tell them to address you in ENGLISH. My next step is calling Orlando health director of the area and report this staff. If you can get pass the front office and speak to the doctor you'll be in good hands; but since they have incompetent individuals working the front GOOD LUCK! read more

This is terrible medical service. I arrived there three times, I had to wait 1 hour see the doctor Wanda Villanueva, and she only spend 5 or 10 mins with me. Every time she told me she will be back then she never come back. The second time she even don't know what is my name when she came in ! Before The nurse already put my information on the computer. They can't find my labs results for 1 and half month. My throw is suffering a month. She never give me the right treatment. Again， I spend 35$ waiting for 40 minutes ask for the referral to see ENT this morning.The same doctor Wanda Villanueva spent 5 mins with me. I only ask for a referral. She really not sure about what's wrong about my throat, when I check out, she put another medicine, and they told me I have to wait 3-5 days get the referral. They need time to check the information. I arrive at my appointment time at 1:00pm and see about 4 families go ahead before me after arriving after me in the waiting room. I begin to complain that I've been waiting 2 hours while everyone else is being seen. They fix the scheduling error and I'm seen next where the doctor mistakes me for being Chinese which was pretty racist because I'm not. After I tell him I've been vomiting, can't eat, constipated, sharp pains in my stomach, he prescribes OTC laxatives. I know my body and this isn't normal every day pains. The tests he ordered were off site and the office was closed already. This means my one day off spent trying to fix what could be killing me resulted in absolutely NOTHING. This is the worse medical service I have ever encounter, they are rude and they dont care about the patients. The only think they care about is to get pay for the service they do not provide. Called today October 5 to get and appointment because I am running out of my medication, and I was given an October 31 appointment, I explained that I will not last that long without the medication and I was told that I will have to wait until then to see the doctor for the prescription. This used to be a good doctor's office I've been attending this office for my PCP for a year or more and other than the fact that they're slow and they're not very personable it's something that you face somewhere you can wear everyday anyways so it's not an issue in my book but I have had my last straw with this doctor's office. My doctor retired they gave me a new doctor. The nurse I had today was completely incompetent and when I disagreed with her about something and prefer to speak to the doctor about it not her she said come with me she walk down the hallway the doctor was in the hallway she says something to her in Spanish and for the rest of the visit that I did stay for I got treated like dog poop on the bottom of the doctor's shoe. I will never ever step foot back in this doctor's office and I will also make sure no one I know does either it was absolutely uncalled for to treat a patient the way I got treated today. They should be ashamed of themselves for being in the medical profession where you were supposed to care about people and your patience and their well-being when it is so evident that the new staff that's in this office do not. If you're looking someone who will listen, will not rush you, make you feel like they know what they're talking about and that you made the right decision by putting your health and well-being in their hands this is definitely not the office for you. Save yourself the time and trouble and just go find another doctor right now is this office has done nothing but go downhill in the two years I've been going there in with the retirement of the old doctor they had they're the worst doctor's office I've ever seen in my life and I've had 11 surgeries in 2 years I've been to a lot of doctors. DONTEVER GO HERE. Made an appointment for 245 even had them call me to confirm. So i arrive and they tell me that I'm late and it was at 230 she said yeah sorry the call center is messed up. Okay so that's my fault !?!!! Meanwhile I'm carrying my two month old who's crying and she finally said i could see the dr. At 315, ok so now it's 415 I've waited in that small crowded waiting room with my son to finally go back at 430. MA takes my bp etc and thinking she's bringing me to the other room to see DR. She brings me TO ANOTHER WAITING ROOM WITH SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT ARE WAITING ALSO. Told me it will be another hour wait. I asked her what was the point of making an appointment. So i ended up leaving and as i was leaving there were more people in the first waiting room people couldn't even fit they were in the hallways. I'm not one to write reviews but holy crap don't waste your time here i don't even know how this place is still open. read more

this is my BAD experience to visit doctor office ever had. i had appointment 12:30 got there early half hour early for fill up.al. the paper works. and then wait till almost one hour so try to found out how much longer need to wait. she told me is doctor in lunch time . so i asked her i got there for almost hour why you dont mentions to me so i could come back by 1:00 instead i just sit there wait for nothing. I would give them zero stars if possible. Horrible patient service, super rude to patients on the phone and even the customer service manager (Jessica) is rude. Any testing including bloodwork sends you running to multiple places. They inundate you with emails and phone calls to confirm your appointment and once you are there they couldn't care less how long they make you wait past your appointment time. Needless to say we have to switch Doctors which is a pain in the butt. read more
