So thankful I discovered this surgery center! I'd been having Gastro issues for months, to the point that I was in excruciating pain and rapidly dropping weight. I actually searched on google & they were the 1st result that would see me in a very short amount of time. The day before surgery, a nurse called me and discussed the procedure, and to make sure I was following all the pre surgery requirements. When I arrived, they allowed one person to sit with until surgery, but they also make that person fill out a form indicating that they'll be picking you up, too. The nurses, doctor, and even the anesthesiologist were amazing! The hospital was clean, and orderly, and they took care of me from start to finish. I can't recommend them enough! read more

I went today to Millenia Surgery Center to do a procedure, and from the doorman to the front desk staff were all so very polite and very informative, I was so blown away by the doctors and OR nurses, those that escort you to the bathroom, nothing is beyond them to do for your care. I have gone to many different facilities before but so far none exceeds this facility, everyone is so CARING, they put your mind at ease and the place is very clean. I've been to this surgical center a few times now and I am ALWAYS impressed with the entire team. My procedures have been at different times so I've experienced the front desk with a crowded waiting room and also being the only patient there. I can't imagine how the front desk staff manages. Not certain patients are aware of all the personnel is juggling and the timing involved. These people do an amazing job. Once in back - proficiency is an understatement. Each staff member is courteous, VERY thorough, prepared, professional and in my experience, well trained. For me, Millenia Surgical Center is almost fascinating to watch "in action". Today my procedure began a little late, no problem. I've been the reason procedures have run late for others in the past. I'd rather the staff, surgeon, anesthesiologist all be as thorough as possible with every patient and comfortable and not too rushed when it is my turn. Second trip to Millenia Surgery Center for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. Which is not always a good thing but the team here is the best. Top notch service by everyone from Vanessa in reception to the pre-op nursing team of Jocelyn and Rachel. Dr Raj is very friendly and is the anesthesiologist so you definitely want to be nice to him. Everyone is very thorough and makes sure you know what is going on and answers any questions you may have. It's a very light and friendly atmosphere which is always helpful in any situation. The OR staff is the same, friendly and welcoming. Yiset the post op nurse was very helpful in helping me as I was waking up. Unfortunately I do have to come back in the future but at least I know I will be in good hands for each visit. read more

Do not go to Millenia Surgery Center until you get a written document detailing what a procedure will cost. They told me one price, and then I get a $600 bill for anesthesia alone. They'll have all kinds of excuses, and then in the end they tell you you have to pay it. In other words, it doesn't matter what they quote you, they'll charge anything they want to charge and you have no choice but to pay it. Went in for a endoscopy and colonoscopy. It was my first time they were quick comforting and efficient with my care.

We came here for a same day procedure. Initially met Jessica at the front desk, she was curt almost bordering on rude. Within 60 seconds I knew I would hate this place. What a change we experienced when we met the back office people. Everyone was pleasant, helpful and friendly. The procedure went well and we were well taken care of. I would recommend this facility with the exception of the front office, but if you make it through the reception area good things await. read more

A great facility. Easy to get to and found parking with no problem. I had a wonderful experience from beginning to end at this facility. The staff (among them, Vickielle and Migdalia) was very attentive, personable, professional. I have the best gastroenterologist, Dr Luis Mejia - one of, if not the best in Orlando. Here's my update and I'm dropping it to 1 star. I was scheduled to have a follow up after my colonoscopy (less invasive procedure to check on what was removed). MSC calls me Monday to give me a time, get info, and make sure I am following the prep stuff. But she starts telling me to fast day before, drink the solution, etc. I tell her I am not getting a colonoscopy. She says that's what is on the record. I call my gastro (another poor review I will be leaving). After I finally talk to the nurse there she says MSC has the wrong procedure and she will call the head person there and fix it. I express to her to please have them call me to arrange the appointment. Come end of day and no call. I can't leave a message after hours because the system never takes me to a beep; something is wrong with it. So I call them today (day before the procedure) and the phone just rings and rings. No one there? So I call my gastro and express my displeasure with MSC and them. I am assured someone will call from MSC. It's now after 4, MSC is on answering service. I will be claiming my medical records from them and taking them to a different Gastroenterologist / surgery center. Avoid this place: they can't be bothered to get your procedure listed correctly, don't return calls, or even have an automated system that works properly so you can leave them a message. read more

Worst place ever do not go here. Went for an endoscopy woke up at 5 am to get there at 6:30. These stupid nurses couldn't find a vein and stabbed me 6 times. Their totally incompetent. You're not even supposed to stab a patient more than twice. And now my hand is swollen. I couldn't even get the procedure done, waste of time and gas. I'm seeking out litigation to sue this place. If you have someone that needs to get a procedure done here, you have to sit in the waiting room the whole time (3 HR+). The lobby is small, no desks and definately not catering to the person that must wait for the person having the procedure. Thankfully they have wireless internet, but have blocked most of the networking sites (which I use as a part of my job) so it's basically a wasted day for the person escorting the patient. I would not chose this center for that reason alone. read more

Fast forward I escalated my complaints to the surgery center staff and my experience. All that Megan P. - a regional director for Millenia surgery center could do was apologize. She stated she would be in contact with me within 2 days....30 days later and still no contact so therefore this matter wasn't truly a concern or top priority. A message was left 48 hours ago for her and she was in a meeting and still did not prompt her to return a call. Therefore. my family ended up reaching out and contacting our lawyer. I wouldn't recommend this surgery center if I had A DEAD DOG. I would ask your surgeon or provide to seek other facilities. It's just horrible and standard care, protocol and procedures should be followed at all time. Pure Pathetic, in -humane , and ultimately may be they will understand when this goes public. read more

Beware of this place. They failed to tell me that the anesthesiologists that they use did not take my insurance. Now I am stuck with a $4000 bill and they give me the brush off when I call. Ugh... If you can avoid going here then do so. It's hit or miss with the staff. Some seem to truly care about your well being, others just want to hurry you along so they can hit up the beach. All 3 times I've been here I've waited well over an hour sometimes two for my procedure that only takes 10 minutes. They do have wi fi in the waiting area. The staff was pleasant and attentive but the actual "operating" room looked like a scene from a horror film. I've never been in a surgical room that also doubled as storage before. After I was wheeled in they had an issue with a wire so I just laid there while they tried to fix it and finally brought a whole other monitor in. There was a storage rack in the back loaded with medical supplies that looked like it was about to fall over. Everywhere I looked there was just more stuff. Not the clean and sterile image I wanted to see right before I drifted off. I did really like the staff, they almost made up for the scary room. read more

I had an endoscopy procedure and a bravo probe placed in my esophagus. Upon arrival I waited for 1hr in the waiting room with about 6 other patients. I listened to the receptionist complain about how she had 3 doctors to push patients through and the doctors were complaining that she was being too slow and needed to hurry up. This went on for half of the hour wait. I was then taken into the pre stage of the procedure. Each nurse was moving very quickly and after every thing they did they apologized for moving so quickly and if they hurt me. I was then taken into the procedure room and when being rolled in the doctor was on the phone in the corner of the room. He nodded his head at me and continued to talk to what sounded like a friend. After the procedure I was rushed out of the center. I was awoken and taken into a wheel chair. They told my wife what they saw and nothing else. I was given the normal "your throat may hurt after" talk and nothing else. Over the next 3 days I experienced a lot of chest pain, which I later found out was the bravo, and I was not told I would experience this. The number on the sheet they give you for "questions and concerns" was closed on Saturday and Sunday and I had no one to speak to about my pain. I was extremely unhappy with the experience and I will never return! read more

Old reviews must have worked because now in 2019 this place was super clean, attractive, and efficient. I showed up at 7 a.m. for a procedure and was immediately taken care of. The staff was terrific - attentive and caring. I was very happy with everything. If I need their services again I will not hesitate to return. read more

A Marine Corps General Officer once said " it may take a General to run our Corps but it takes a private to make the Corps". This is how I feel about this surgery center. The staff make it! Warm, enthusiastic, professional, caring and friendly from the receptionist, nurses and staff doctors. I have witnessed my share of hospitals, surgery centers over 14 spinal surgeries, rebuilt left knee right ankle, stomach surgery, 3 hernia surgeries etc. I have never ever been so impressed with such a facility. Been through there over 7 times and it is always the same, great experience. I cannot recommend this center for any of your needs highly enough. Can't single out one for standing above the others because they all are great! Expect a call the next day from a nurse to check up on how you are doing. Overall the facility is great. Dr. Mejia is FANTASTIC, I would highly recommend. The nurses were kind and inviting. Service was fast (if you get an early appointment time you are lucky!). However, the anesthesiologist made my experience not worth 5 stars. The first thing he said to me was a comment about my age, making me automatically feel uncomfortable. Then, knowing that it was my first time being put under-- He still did not walk me through what was going on at all. I all of a sudden felt coldness in my hand and fell asleep with no preparation. I would've appreciate transparent care and being informed along the way during my procedure. His treatment made me feel like he did not care about my comfort during my time there. I hope that this message can get to him and others at the facility to remind them of the importance of treating each patient with intentionality and with a patient-centered attitude. read more

I was getting a spinal cord stimulator replaced and my Doctor was using this facility which I had never been to. When we walked in there were two women at the desk. The younger looking of the two was okay but seemed to be new so the older looking one took over. She asked for my insurance card which I had left at home. She was looking at my chart which has all my information right in front of her. She insisted that she needed to verify my insurance with my card. She also told me my copay was about $3,800.00 which seemed pretty high to me. I went outside and called my insurance company and asked them to call the surgery center. My insurance rep told me my copay should be almost $2,000.00 less than what I was just quoted. My rep told me she would call them to straighten all this out. Mind you I haven't had anything to eat or drink since the night before and it's now around 11:00am. I walked back in and heard the older woman speaking with my insurance rep. After waiting for quite a while the woman came back to her desk and told me that they have to collect the 3,800.00 or they wouldn't let my doctor do the surgery. She told me it's in case they need more money than my insurance allowed it was easier to get it up front and not have to try to get me to pay later. By this time we learned my doctor was still in surgery due to complications with another patient. I paid the money and I was assured I'd get a refund within 30-60 days. I finally made it back to the holding room and it was like a storage area with lights and beds on one side of it. It was not a nice place. There was one nurse back there that told me what to do so I'd be ready. I had the surgery and I was wheeled out of the building hitting every door on the way because the doors did not have wheelchair buttons. It took a few weeks short of a year to receive my refund which was around $2,700.00. My out of pocket shouldn't have been more than $1,200.00 when they charged me so much. I would not recommend anyone to have a procedure done here!!! read more

my first knee replacement went great awesome staff no problems that was 7 months ago,, next knee 2 months ago was a whole different story ,, waited for a long time no problem,, signed papers talked to nurse about procedure , all good ,, then i could here the staff yapping of how they wanted to go home and were not staying to take care of people no matter what,, i was prepped and wheeled into a room that was different then the one i was in before and they were talking that i was on the wrong kind f table for the procedure,,, , lucky for me i noticed the anesthesiologist was same that put me out before i said hi and and we had a few words then i said now it is time to do my other knee they backed up and said wait ,next thing i know im going back down the hall to-wait,, there were going to do shoulder surgery on me !!!!!!!!!! whoo-- hooooooooo doge a bullet there ,, i Evan had a big ole X on my knee they were to distracted to go to happy hour,, when i woke up they were all gone and place was just about dark i was the last one out no meds and a nurse bless her soul apologizing so sorry so sorry this is wrong i spent that night in crazy pain dont get me wrong my doctor was great and did great work but the staff there needs to be trained and want to be there ,,, grab assing and yapping and complaining get a good staff !!!!!! scary place the second time around !!! read more

First thing this facility doesnt have is a plexy glass at the front desk(HIPPAA violation).everyone in the waiting room and the people standing around you( thats how small the waiting room is)is listening to your whole conversation with receptionist.The front desk is not knowledgable at all.The wait time is ridiculous(I felt like cattle being rushed in when i did my colonoscopy with Dr P.)I would never recommend this place to no one. read more

This is the worse place ever wait time is horrible unhappy staff and nurses rushing to take care of you. The poor girl checking patients in was doing her best checking in patients in a crowded lobby as they had 3 doctors at the same time. She had no help so we had to wait over 45 minutes to be checked in. The lobby has outdated magazines, TV's that don't work, horrible WiFi, The office manager Katrina is very rude and unprofessional you can definitely tell she is there just for a paycheck and doesn't care. She didn't even know what the password was to get into the Wifi. You can hear the staff complaining about how overworked they are and Charge nurse not helping but been a dictator and not wanting to be there because it was Saturday and she had plans with her kids and wanted to leave. As we were in preop the nurse was very nice and caring but was been rushed by Millie the person in charge of the center. Who was very rude I was suppose to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I was only scheduled for a colonoscopy. The poor nurse was doing her best and trying to do her job which was to take of me but you can definitely tell the pressure she was under as Millie kept telling her she had 3 more patients waiting. The nurse was trying to find out if I was suppose to have the second test done. You can hear other staff including Millie saying the front office messed again or Dr P Office sent the wrong order. At this point I was getting nervous and wanted to leave but just thinking of having to take that prep over i decided to just stay. After waiting in preop for over 1 hour, and finally been updated that i was only scheduled for a colon due to my insurance. I was a little upset because you would think the office would of known that. (Oh sorry it was my job to know that as Katrina told Millie) Neither one of them had the decensy to come to apologize and explain to me. They had the nurse taking me into the room tell me as she was asking me the same questions all over again. She took me into the room to wait for me to have my procedure done (colonoscopy), never saw the doctor before my procedure. You could hear the staff outside the room talking you can definetely tell the staff is not happy and feel unappreciated. After my procedure I was taken to recovery where i was rushed out of my bed and placed into a wheelchair. I felt so rushed and barely remember talking to the doctor after. The poor nurse in recovery was trying to get my family member but again Millie was rushing her because she had to take the next patient coming out. I was then wheeled out by a heavy set lady named Meagan who was more focused on her phone and pushing me out of the center. Wow i taught she was a transporter as she knows nothing about been a nurse. I received a follow up call to see how I was doing and the nurse was very sweet. I was in shock when she told me Meagan was the Nursing Administrator wow neither Meagan or Millie have any clue how run a center they are both definitely rude and unprofessional and don't care about the staff or patients. In preop I saw Meagan at the desk where she was sitting on a lap top the entire time not once did she get up to assist the nurses or check what was wrong since i was complaining. It looks like she is use to this and just didn't want to deal with it. Millie and her were focused on what they were going to get for lunch and some vacation they were talking about. PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!!!! THEY NEED BETTER MANAGEMENT THAT CARE ABOUT PATIENTS AND CARE FOR THE STAFF SO WE THE PATIENTS ARE TREATED PROPERLY !!!!! The nurses are very sweet but you can definitely THEY ARE OVERWORKED AND RUSHED. Meagan, Millie and Katrina don't care about the staff. All they want is numbers and patient safety and patient care is not important in this place at the least to the management team. Overworked staff, understaff, and this is how mistakes happen all the time. Thank God I was not having major surgery because I would off definitely walked out. read more

The staff was great. The facility itself was not so good. The waiting room is very small and you are not allowed to sit outside of the waiting room in the lobby of the building. The security guard will make you go back into the waiting room even with no seating. My other big concern was that we didn't get our follow up call from my son's procedure for 2 weeks. Yes, 2 weeks later they ask if he is having any bleeding or complications. REALLY? why bother at that point. It was ridiculous. "is he bleeding, is he eating, moving his bowels" If after 2 weeks he wasn't I think I would have already taken care of that. Our physician was not thrilled with his pathology results either. She said they were vague and inconclusive causing more testing. Beware. read more

Had a bad time there been there twice. First time not too bad surgery was postponed for two hours and staff was nice. This time a nightmare. I was not told what time to arrive until two days before hard for my ride to arrange time off so he had to take the whole day. Got there was taken back fairly quickly which got my hopes up. Being that I had just had surgery there a couple of months ago my heart problem which I had had for ten years wasn't going to be a problem. I am admittedly a hard stick and thus ended up with an IV in my foot which was painful. The anestesiologist saw on my survey I had been in the hospital with my heart problem (I'm 30). She wanted the notes from the hospital despite clearances from my primary doctor and cardiologist. It took four times for my Dr. office to fax it to them it went through after they e-mailed it so they got 125 pgs. which looking back serves them right. My regular cardiologist had not seen me in the hospital and I guess the cardiologist I did see was not familar with my disease. It was stated I had an MI the anestesiologist went nuts asking me why I didn't tell them this. Because I didn't know! I called my cardiologist to have him explain it to her. She came to me and said that it needed to be done in a hospital setting! I had been there over 7 hours at that point hadn't eaten all day not to mention mine and my friend's lost work. That afternoon went to my cardiologist because I was mad. He told me that she wanted him to write a letter stating the other Dr. was wrong and that he accepted all responsibility of the surgery and the out come! He said he refused to do that. I don't blame him. It's called responsibility people take it! Will never go there again! read more
