After six months and feeling like the Israelites​ wandering in the desert​. We still had not found a place to call home​. Finally,​ we buckled down and made the resolution that in 2019 we MUST feel that God was calling us to the church during our first attendance. Low and behold January 7th we stepped into Celebration and never looked back. I mean come on with a belief system of: We are all about Jesus. We are welcoming. We are authentic. We are diverse. We are intentional. We are faith-filled. We are participators. We are generous. We are others-focused​. Where can you possibly go wrong? Anywho onto the main points. Currently,​ the church is meeting at two locations of Howard Middle in downtown and Edgewater High in College Park. The vision is to be good financial stewards and raise enough capital for a permanent location. Get ready to be seriously welcomed at our church from the parking lot all the way to when you leave. Let's​ talk about​ safety. Children's​ ministry has a police officer always on duty at the entrance along with two other officers and tons of security from all backgrounds of life spread randomly throughout the church. Doors are locked at all times and check-in and check-out procedures for children are tight-knit with identification badges out before you can even go in the direction of children's​ ministry. Don't​ have little ones? No biggie there is Sub 30 available for young adults and RIOT. RIOT is a place where middle and high school teens can hear a message geared specifically for their audience. More importantly,​ they can meet during the week for groups​ intentionally​ designed with them top of mind. You can tell when a message is truth when you're​ turning the pages of your bible or looking at the verse available on the projector often. Come prepared to read from the bible and unpack it with our pastors, the Phillips. Don't​ forget to get your weekly dose with community groups. Celebration​ understands we shouldn't do life alone and we have nailed down all sorts of groups from coffee to fitness, and even brunching on how we can spread the word of God. All in all,​ I'm sure you can tell that Celebration is not just a church. We are one big loving family.

There are signs and welcoming people everywhere to help direct you (parking is right in front of the school and never too crowded). It just honestly feels like home and that you belong with no judgments. It's non-denominational with outstanding pastors that are genuinely caring people who will talk to you after service. You would NEVER guess this church is located in a middle school because they dress up & transform this beautiful building so much. The worship is so talented/AWESOME and very different than anything I've ever experienced... I feel like I should be paying to get in, that's how great it is! I also feel extremely safe because they have security and deputies everywhere. Did I mention the free coffee yet? Yep, free and delicious coffee from Credo. They also invite the homeless in and treat them so well, it makes me feel honored to go here. It's definitely a trendy scene with lots of young people but they have groups and other opportunities for every age and every walk of life. They do so much for the community and it's members with Jesus being at the center. They have so many ways to get connected so you don't get lost in the crowed, which usually happens in big churches. I am forever grateful to find my church home that makes doing life alone impossible. If you're in Orlando on a Sunday you've gotta check this place out! It has made more of an impact on my life than I can imagine. God is doing big things here and I'm so grateful that I get to be a part of it.

I also love how he notices new people who come in and gives them a warm welcome. So many churches I have been to in the past never noticed new people, even if you went for weeks. The music is great. I decided to take a drive one Sunday to find a new church and ended up at Christ Church of Orlando. From the second I got out of my car I knew something was different. Going in I saw people actually talking to each other and laughing together. People greeted me with warm smiles and I just got the feeling like this place was somewhere special. I remember clearly the message Pastor Paul gave that day. It was one that hit home for me and one that I was desperate to hear. That is not uncommon at Christ Church. Pastor Paul has a way of speaking to so many, but also speaking directly to you at the same time. His messages are relevant and applicable to every day life. He is funny, witty, and well spoken. Expect to laugh (imagine that at church!) and expect to leave a better person than you were when you came in. The people at Christ Church are genuine and sincere. It may seem cliche to say that it is like a family here...but it is. We're a bunch of imperfect people who love God and do life together. As a mom of a 4 year old, I can also speak to the quality of their children's program. My daughter learns about Jesus every week through fun games and activities and a quality curriculum. She loves coming to church and has made many great friends that now play together outside of church which has gained me some great new mom-friends as well! Speaking of making friends...there are different classes/studies offered on Wednesday evenings and connection groups that meet in various parts of Orlando on weeknights. Groups are based off of special interests like cooking, biking, young families, bible studies, women's groups, men's groups, etc., and provide a fun and safe environment to make some great friends while growing your relationship with God. Christ Church of Orlando also hosts community outreach opportunities where we are able serve the local community together as a church family. Back in November 2023, I felt hopeless having exhausted my search for a church. I'd spent months researching websites, scrolling through social media pages, and emailing the leadership of dozens of churches... yet none of them seemed to align with what I was looking for. I was about to give up when I made the last-ditch effort to look at yelp (yes, this yelp). I was three page results deep when I found this lovely comment section. I don't normally look at reviews older than 2 years - let alone 7 or 9 - but for whatever reason I still went to the Metro Life Church webpage to learn more. The website so perfectly described what I was looking for, and despite the church being outside of my initial search radius, I decided to visit one Sunday. I was so pleasantly overwhelmed by how kind and intentional they are. I filled out a connect card with a prayer request of looking for a job. Within a day I had someone so incredibly kind reaching out wanting to get to know me, what jobs I was looking for, and how to pray. She introduced me to some wonderful people from the church in my industry, and they forwarded my resume to different people who were hiring. Within weeks, I finally got a job. The church was genuinely looking to help and encourage me, even as a guest. Fast forward to now -August 2024- I am a member of Metro Life Church. I am plugged into community and feeling fulfilled in my surroundings of such a strong body of believers... it has truly been such a blessing. If you are reading this and considering a church home in Central Florida, I highly encourage Metro! If a yelp review could help me find my home, I certainly hope this one can do the same for you. Some answers to my "Church Search FAQs": There's plenty of parking in the surrounding parking lots. Childcare is provided. There are nursing rooms and cry rooms in the sanctuary. The facility is well maintained and clean. The worship is not too loud or bright with lights, there is a true heart of worship and sensitivity to the Spirit. The sanctuary is not too cold or hot, although if you tend to get chilly easily and are sitting under a vent, you may want to bring a sweater. There is coffee and tea available, and sometimes snacks. Dress is whatever best suits you - I have worn a variety from nice dresses to jeans and a t-shirt. There currently is no "turn and greet your neighbor" segment in the service. There is a time of tithe and offering. When communion is offered, there is a gluten free version available. Community Groups extend throughout central Florida, from Winter Park to Sanford and in between. Metro Life Church is nondenominational, reformed charismatic. Two youths were baptized, and I was touched to see that it was they both had a parent baptize them. It made an awesome event even more personal. I also thought it was cool that kids join the adults for worship before being dismissed to their own program. I think that's a great way to make church a family thing. I look forward to coming back.

Went here last week for a friend of mines memorial. Got lost on the way there so I missed most of…read moreit. When I got there, there was no signage on where to go nor anyone outside. I was already grief stricken and frustrated that I was late and lost. But to not have signage or even one caretaker there added to it. By the time I finally figured out it was in an auditorium, the memorial was ending. The seating arrangement was full so I signed the guest book and waited in the hall for everyone to exit. There were only two people I wanted to see the most there. The restroom was in the foyer of that building so that was a relief considering I drove two hours straight to get there. The set up of my friends photos and flowers were beautiful. Blue/teal were the colors for Ovarian cancer awareness. I appreciate the staff for letting them set up there for her.

I've been to a lot of churches in my life, but nothing prepared me for the genuine love, rock-solid Bible teaching, and authentic community I found at Calvary Chapel Orlando under Pastor Will's leadership. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted like family. The worship is powerful and Spirit-led (not a performance, but true heartfelt praise), and then Pastor Will gets up and teaches straight through the Word--verse by verse, chapter by chapter, no fluff, no gimmicks, just the pure, unfiltered truth of Scripture. He has an incredible gift of making deep theology totally accessible while still challenging you to grow. Every single Sunday I leave thinking, "Wow... I actually understand the Bible better now, and I want to live differently because of it." Come early for coffee and stay late--everyone hangs out and talks like old friends.
