I am writing this review in hopes that other parents see this and are on alert…read more We attempted to get out son into first grade at St. Charles. We were given a lovely tour by a British woman (her name escapes me) who did a fantastic job selling the school to us. We were told there were spaces available for first grade. We filled out the application, did EVERYTHING this school asked of us, had our son come in and do the Academic assessment and immediately after, we were stonewalled by JoAnn Hart as well as the principal claiming our son needed to be in a "Gifted Program" and he was not a good fit for their school because he would get "bored". Upon meeting the Principal, who has a very cold demeanor and awful bedside manner, When we asked what this school provides for children that may be Advanced, we were called "An Elitest Family" and also drilled about our Religion because we are Non-Catholic. This was not a problem for us but seemed to be a BIG issue for the Principal, even though their website says they accept all forms of Christianity. She was rude, judgmental and has crap for communication skills. I was ushered out of her office after our "meeting" and she never returned any calls or emails. We were sent a denial email two days later from JoAnn Hart saying our son needed to be in a School that offered Advanced Education/ Gifted Program. No explanation as to WHY, we were NEVER given a copy of his academic assessment to even back this kind of statement, and every single private school that I have spoken to has all agreed, this is highly unusual and does not make any sense. Our son does test above grade level but how can you even claim they are gifted at age 6? A school should pride itself on Academics and never expect ALL children to fit into the same mold they provide. Meanwhile, we were told we would get a refund for our Application, which has not happened after several calls and emailed attempts to speak to someone in the office. We have had to dispute the charge with our bank. I do not recommend this school to any mother, father, or family who is seeking a faith based private education for your child. Run. I hope the principal reads this and is ashamed of herself for how she has handled herself in this matter.

I am truly disappointed by the current administration at Bishop Moore Catholic High School. It's…read moreclear that student well-being is not a priority. There have been multiple instances where students reported being bullied or harassed, and the school either failed to take action or, worse, appeared to protect the offenders--despite having clear evidence. Academically, the education offered is not significantly different from that of a public school, yet families are paying a substantial amount of money--essentially for a religion class. It's hard to understand where the tuition funds are going when some bathrooms have no air conditioning and there are roaches present in the facilities. Even more alarming is the repeated pattern of scandals involving teachers engaging in inappropriate relationships with students. Although these teachers are eventually fired, the fact that this has happened multiple times raises serious concerns about oversight and student safety. If you're considering Bishop Moore for your child, I would strongly urge you to explore other private schools--or even public schools--before making a decision.

This school is privately owned and certainly run for profit…read more I was pressured to signing my daughter up prematurely and was then massively ripped off by them (Over $2k ). I personally wrote to the owner who couldn't be bothered to reply. Quite simply they did what was clearly the 'wrong thing' to do, but could get away with it, so greed won. Also don't be too swayed by the 'super academics' for toddlers. All data shows children in the early years learn best through play and this school is all about structure and rules like mini school. Emotional intelligence is not being nurtured here.

The teaching staff is amazing however the administration (executive director Danelle Restrepo and owner Patrick Knight) are despicable. I enrolled my daughter and son for the 2022-2023 school year and paid my $2,500 deposit and materials fees early in the year. However, I then was offered the opportunity to attend the Univ. of Miami for grad school (I'm a single mom of 2 who is still in school). I wasn't sure I was going to get in as it was last minute and I had none of the required materials just my transcripts and recommendations - nonetheless I did. So I let Christy and Danelle know of my situation and how it was unexpected but too good of an opportunity to pass up so I would be leaving PHA to move to Miami. Knowing I had already put my deposit and materials fees down, I asked if I could be refunded my $2,500 if they're able to fill my children's spots. They explained that it is non-refundable deposit and how it is the same across all private schools. She continued to tell me how I signed a contract saying I understood that. Now of course, I completely understand the non-refundable deposit in similar situations like mine where unexpected reasons cause children to be unenrolled and a spot left open that they could have filled with another child - in cases where they would have taken a financial loss at the expense of my situation. However, they have a waitlist and would surely fill my children's spot with no problem - which in turn creates no financial loss. So I see no problem in asking for my money back. They have no need for it if they have already received that deposit and material fees from another family in replace of mine. Needless to say, they continued to decline in which case I had to decline my own offer at the Univ. of Miami because I didn't have the funds to put down my own deposit because I was never refunded the money from PHA (like I said I was still a student and a single mom of 2 so money was slim). I then told them that I would be staying at PHA because I couldn't afford UM and that it shouldn't be a problem since they already have my deposit. Christy then responds saying that she had already given my son's spot away a couple days after giving my notice WHILE STILL HAVING MY DEPOSIT. I ask her to have the family be put on the waitlist because as an established family and one who has already paid material fees and deposit, I should have preference. She then apologizes but declines and puts Noah on the top of the waitlist. Now I must wait and hope that PHA has an opening for my son before the start of the school year. I can't wait around for childcare because I need to work and would have no back up plan. Due to this, I start looking around for other private schools in the area. During my search, I explain why I'm leaving PHA and the situation that I've endured with them. All of the schools continued to tell me that if it was them they would have refunded the deposit if the spot was filled because there would be no financial loss taken and no need to keep the money. So contrary to what Danelle said, not all private schools (except PHA) hold greed above empathy. With no response until a couple weeks before the start of the school year, did they call to let me know that there was a spot open for Noah. I let them know that Noah would be staying at his current school because I couldn't wait around for them to give me an answer. I continued to ask for a refund with continued decline. I resulted to reaching out the the owner of the school. I explained the entirety of the situation and have never received a response. Completely unprofessional administration. There's more, but I'm passed the character limit..just follow my advice and go somewhere else. Park Maitland and Lake Forrest Prep are great options!
