The special with the flank steak, mashed potatoes, chili relleno-- it's on the combination menu-- it was amazing. They were super attentive, extremely kind. My family and I were in Loreto on the last stop of our holiday Baja cruise and I wanted to treat everyone to an authentic Mexican lunch. Found Orlando's through Yelp and the reviews definitely didn't disappoint. All of the food was incredible and the carne asada was among the best I've ever had. Lunch for 4 with drinks came out to $100, which is a steal compared to what we would've paid for the same meal in LA. The service was also fantastic. We love this place. Found it a few years back and just keep coming back. Just a note: They moved to a new location accross the street. I think I Liked the old one better but it is still very nice. We like this place so much we talked our traveling group of ten people to join us. Nobody was disappointed and everyone loved it. I had the shrimp stuffed chile rellano. In season you can get a lobster stuffed rellano. They are both better than they sound. If you are in Loreto, do not miss out on this place. Tender; flavorful; fresh. Plenty of food. Best strawberry margarita I have ever had. My husband had ice cold Pacifico. Many vegetarian and fish/seafood options. Lovely ambiance and authentic seating. Excellent service with charming and clean interior. Prices are fairly reasonable and the margarita was fantastic. I had fish tacos (3) which is not on the menu. We didn't make it here on our first visit to Loreto, so we made a point to go there the first night on a recent trip since a lot of people recommended it. We had 6 people (2 were small kids) and were able to make a reservation through Facebook. They were ready for us as we walked in. They were very nice and immediately asked if we wanted chips and salsa or guac. We said yes. While the guac was good, they ended up bringing us 2 orders, and we got charged for both. We didn't need 2 orders, so just make sure you specify how many order before they bring it. Overall, while they were friendly, and there was a charming ambiance, it was our most expensive meal of the trip, and food and margaritas were just ok. I am glad we checked it out, but we would probably skip it next time. read more

No idea how there are so many positive reviews for this place. It's just so mediocre. The service was spotty. I ordered chile rellenos no rice add avocado and all of a sudden guacamole shows up at my table. Not mine. But after the expediter left it on my table for a moment, from my waving and gesturing "not mine," finally then picked it up and took it to the right table - oh dear. Food itself was just not great. It had no flavor whatsoever and the chile relleno batter was oily and soggy. Sure, I can't do a lot of spice, but there was no zip at all. I find it hard to believe that the sauce on the entrée was made in house. It really tasted out of a can. When it came time to pay the check, the food wasn't even on the check. I had to point it out. Duh. Also, did not feel that the placemats and napkin holder was sanitary. There were some stains and it just looked shabby. Flies kept buzzing over and landing on my table or my food if I wasn't fanning them away. It also was a bit pricey, for what was really unremarkable food. On the positive, it's a nice shady patio and they allow dogs. TL/dr: Not terrible but not at all noteworthy. read more

Ambiance was so so as the restaurant shares a chain link fence with a day care or school with screaming 5 yr olds. They do play loud music that drowns out the school yard. Food was excellent - get something with their famous poblano sauce or the cilantro sauce if you like cilantro. We went here for brunch and dinner on several occasions. Service is good as well and it's a nice outdoor place with plenty of shade. Most tables are in close proximity to one another and people were always friendly at nearby tables. We especially enjoyed the Guacamole with chips and salsa (which we didn't order, but were charged for)... but appreciated the high quality fresh guacamole preparation. Always pushing the highest priced entrees ... that's my experience from just one visit today. 400 pesos for a lunch fish special ... well you get my drift. This restaurant was recommended by a chef I met in Loreto. The restaurant is a courtyard style place with a bar in the center. The tables are well spaced apart and were wiped down with a disinfectant spray after each use. I had the enchiladas with chicken and a red sauce. The enchiladas had plenty of meat and were excellent. Slight spiciness that didn't hide the taste. A Negra Modelo topped it off. Was in a bottle. Too bad not on tap. The staff were all friendly and the menu was in both English and Spanish. Have been here many times. Last year, 2023, was fantastic and enjoyed coconut margaritas and several menu items. Nachos were huge and tasty. This year, 2024, many changes in personnel and food. Service is now just okay and food has gone downhill. Smaller portions and not as flavorful. Wish I could turn back time. Still okay place, but not the fantastic place it was. Now I hear they are changing venues for a larger area. Maybe they should look more toward bringing back great food and timely, attentive service first. read more

The flank steak was very good too. Had the most satisfying brunch :). My super picky child finished her French toast and an egg which is a rare sight. The Jillys chilis have lightly battered fried poblano that is perfectly done. It is like a tempura in savory Mexican sauce. The plates and coffee cups were very charming- hand painted red ware pottery. Staffs were attentive and helpful. I would eat here everyday but my wardrobe will have to be updated often. read more

Very good food but they upsell. The waiter asked if we wanted chips and salsa which is normally bought without being asked. Boom: chips, salsa and also guacamole was bought to us and 200 pesos added to the bill. We all ordered margaritas and the second waiter said he would make us the current house margarita Boom: the 130 pesos margarita got up charged to I think 180 pesos or so. Could not taste any difference in the margarita. We will return for the food but will be wiser to point to the menu price when we order and ready to challenge any alterations to the final bill. read more

We discovered this gem in Loreto quite by accident The food is to the point, I ordered the chile relleno accompanied with chilaquiles and beans and it was very good. The pot coffee is rich and piping hot just the way I like it. My son ordered the chilaquiles in green sauce with purple onion flank steak on top and they were also very delicious.
