    Plancher P M Cantin Flooring

PM Cantin installed raw birch hardwood floors in my home 15 years ago. The installation went well,…read moreand the end results were good. There was one spot during the install in my entrance where the board was chipped, to which I pointed out to the installer before the finishing took place - thinking they would removed and replace the board. I was told that it would look wonderful once it was done. Sadly it did not. The defective board was not removed before the finishing took place. Instead, the finisher went overtop of the chipped piece... so I called the owner back and explained my discontent. Someone was sent over to "fix the issue", but by fixing, they simply took out the chipped piece (not the entire board as this would disturb finish on the rest of the floor), filled the hole with matching wood fill and attempted to blend in the finish on top. Sadly, this fix looked like a glossy patch on the floor that was very noticeable for many years. About 7 years back, when I was updating my kitchen I was removing a hardwood transition piece (in the prior hardwood floor installation) who's purpose was to reduce down to my old vinyl kitchen floor. Before installing my ceramic tile, I called PM Cantin to discuss this transition piece and asked whether they could install a matching piece of wood to meet up with my new ceramic floors. Since I had not installed the ceramic floors at that point I told them I would leave a 6 inch gap between the hardwood and the ceramic floor so they could fit a new hardwood piece in. That was a transition piece would not be required. PM Cantin agreed to this and we set an install date. I went ahead and installed my ceramic floors leaving that gap between them and the hardwood. Sadly, PM Cantin never showed up for the scheduled time. When I called to request why the no show, I was told the Owner decided the job was not worth his time or money. So I was left to my resources to figure out how to fix a 6 inch wide strip around my kitchen entrance on my own. Not a good way of dealing with the customer at all!!! After these incidents... I have a hard time recommending this company.
