As we are co-caring for our 95 yo mother at this time, we thought it should get checked out. Halifax Express care is the closest facility. The facility did not accept the advantage care plan that my sister has with her Medicare. They refused my sister's personal payment claiming that it was against Florida law for them to do so and that indeed it would constitute insurance fraud!??! So they would not be able to treat her - "have a nice day!" I picked her up and drove her to Advent Health Centra Care down the road where they agreed to treat her. They did accept her insurance but they also stated that if they did not accept her insurance they would have accepted her personal payment and provided the medical treatment she might need. I have been looking for whatever Florida state law would have prohibited Halifax from treating my sister. I am of the mind that no such law exists. I shall stay clear of Halifax facilities going forward. i find this treatment and behavior unacceptable in a healthcare provider.

Came in and stood in front of the window with the girl getting upset over an issue with previous patient input that didn't workout. Her verbal behavior of yelling to someone in another room and her slouching heavily in the chair was incredibly u professional. We stood there for about 3 min before she acknowledged us b/c she was too angry at the computer. Mind you, we are the only people there. Empty waiting room. Then without looking at us she gave us a clipboard and told us to Fill it out and that she'd need a copy of insurance and ID. She's too good for this job I guess. I also called at around 8:08am to ask if there were a lot of patients in the room and her response was "well no cuz we just opened." Have some professionalism w/ that low class behavior. I'll just go to Advent Health Centre Care moving forward. Sounds like the front desk employees need a reminder in regards to appropriate professional behavior in a medical facility.

I was having a colonoscopy that week and had to eliminate red. so no red beets and my blood pressure went up. the nurse now was so upsetting she asked me several times the same questions. what was your blood pressure? 3x. I'm normally a very nice person but the aggravation of being treated like a criminal was beyond upsetting and now an incompetent nurse who doesn't listen. then it was the second time the receptionists got my rx wrong. I was told we just sent it it will be there in 45 minutes. I go to Publix in 45 minutes. not there. I wait. go home keep calling. not there. the first time I go they sent it to Walmart not Publix. I said Publix. my sheet said Publix. it's important if you need your meds. it's inconvenient. there were more reasons why I was beyond upset with the receptionists and told them. young girls need to step it up!! bad all the way around except an excellent dr who I could not find out when she was going to be there again. the owner has a practice where you can make an appointment with. just not here. it's like a place with bars on the outside in LA. really ? you treat me like I'm going to harm a dr?? all of us!!! and I recommended two people here. what a mistake! never again. I got a letter that because I told the nurse to "listen". and the front desk not doing their job I cannot return. I had no desire to return to ineptitude and lack of respect to the patient!

The doctor diagnosed my problem very quickly, and they treated me within 15 minutes once I was in the exam room. I specifically chose this facility because it's ER doctors without the ER wait/price. It is a walk-in facility, so depending on demand, you may have to wait a while. But it's much better than, say, going to Quest and waiting without an appointment. And if you think about it, you wouldn't want them to cut your appointment time short and not give you the care that you deserve. So you might have to wait a little while.

We were seated at a high top table and bench seat. When we got ready to leave, I stepped down off the bench and turned my left ankle. I heard it POP!! We went to the condo and I iced my ankle and then soaked my left foot in the tub with ice . I could not put any weight on my left foot! Tuesday morning, My foot/ankle felt numb and the bottom & side of my foot hurt and was swollen. We got to promptcare at 10am. The doctor had the technician do x-rays of my left ankle and foot. The doctor said it'd take the radiologist at at least another hour to read the x-rays, she hated for for me to wait any longer. She wrapped my ankle / foot with an ace bandage, then fitted me for a boot to wear. It was very cumbersome ! She said, they would call me later today with the results of the x-rays, whether my ankle was broken or not. At 3:15pm, Medquick called, she said, the radiologist said, I fractured my ankle(avulion fracture). She said, I needed to wrap my ankle at night to sleep in and wear the boot during the day for at least 6 weeks. She said, once we got home to follow up with my orthopedic surgeon. I had my orthopedic appt., Tues., 6/30/26. They did x-rays of my ankle. My orthopedic doctor said, he didn't see where it was fractured but wants me to wear an ankle brace and go back in 2 weeks for more x-rays to make sure there's not a hair-line fracture. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE! How can the radiologist from Palm Coast, FL, Medquick, read the x-rays and say that I have an avulion fracture and my orthopedic surgeon do x-rays and there's NO fracture? It's not going to heal in a week! Wed., 7/1/26- My husband called Medquick this morning to see if they would transfer my x-rays of my ankle and foot to a disk and send them to us? He was told, NO! We would have to go and pick them up at the Medquick. He told them that was out of the question? We are 6 hours away. He ask is they could take a picture of the text x-rays and send that to him? They said NO, the only way they could be released was for us to go to the office and pick them up! Asinine!

On Monday evening, I arrived to ER at my PCP's urgent urging. They quickly processed me through, gave me my bloodwork and imaging. The waiting room was packed. One man spent hours crying out with abdominal pain. Another crazy had a few outbursts requiring security. I lost track of time watching elderly patients going unattended. I saw no less than three patients leave in desperation. Somewhere between 8 and 10 hours later, with no contact by medical staff to let me know what was going on, I was finally given a room in the ER. I can't be certain about the times, but I got settled around 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning and spent the rest of the night listening to a blind elderly woman screaming from her gurney in the hallway outside my room. I may have slept an hour before a staff member burst in and turned on the overhead lights to take my blood pressure again. In the morning following doctors visits they told me they'd found a room. I was rolled down the hall to what I call a tent room. The hall was a loud pass through with loud traffic and desks and noisy machinery rolling by. At my own home I had been sleeping on and off during the day. This new accommodation would keep me awake all day and into the night until I was too tired and slept until the nurses' station staff were laughing and telling stories throughout the night. While the doctors and nurses and professional staff were attentive and knowledgable, if you're looking for a hygienic, quiet repose, don't come here! (PS I am getting better though)

My husband and I were well established within the Advent Health system for a number of years but we…read morehad had two previous primary care physicians leave their practices rather abruptly. It hadn't been easy finding another primary care practice within the Advent system, but we had. We had found a physician we really liked in a very good family practice group located in the medical offices of the Advent Health Daytona Beach hospital. We felt we were being well cared for there, until we suddenly weren't. At our last routine office visits we were told when we checked out that the practice, of four physicians, was being closed! We had been scheduled well ahead for our upcoming routine office visits and of course those visits were cancelled. What we received was a cryptic form letter with the names of four nurse practitioners in case we were in need of future care. While we don't mind being seen by a nurse practitioner occasionally, and preferably for a specific problem, we want to be seen by an MD for our regular ongoing care. A bit shocked by this sudden and unexpected news and disappointed that we had not been told by our physician after our exams, we felt compelled to ask some pretty pointed questions. Our inquiries were met with what we felt were believable answers. The practice closure appears to have been a management decision and it had been decided that the physicians were not to personally impart this news to patients directly. Instead, that unwelcome news was shifted to the clerical staff, which frankly seemed to us to be quite unfair. Our two previous physicians, who had also left the Advent system, had given us the courtesy of personally sharing the unpleasant news of our needing to find a new doctor, so we asked why this time we hadn't been afforded this courtesy. It apparently wasn't our physician's choice, it was a directive. (But by whom?) A perusal of the current Advent Health website of primary care MD's accepting new patients shows we've pretty much been left with very few, if any, choices. And, the unwelcome result is that our scheduled routine medical care is also set back by months and neither of us is "Feeling Whole" as advertised.
