I am an 85 year old female. I have fell once in December, 2025 and again in February, 2026. Both times I injured my left shoulder and arm. I have a high tolerance for pain, however it became too much and Dr Bates gave me injections that really helped a lot. He was a very kind doctor. The last time Dr Steven Porter went over my injury and explained what was showing on the xray. He then went over the treatment and explained everything and gave me a choice of what I wanted. The shot he gave in my arm worked miracles. I got a full nights sleep, the first since my second injury. Dr Porter was very patient and had great bedside manners. It great service. I've been having shoulder pain issues and went to see them. They told me nothing g was wrong and just rest it for a bit. The practitioner I saw gave me her card and said to call them if it gets worse or doesn't get better. Well, the pain has gotten worse, so much so that it is impacting my sleep at night. It's been three weeks and I'm exhausted, haven't gotten a good nights sleep, at all. Called them to see the doctor again, since this is greatly impacting my quality of life. Can't see me for at least ten days and that's in the middle of a period where I will be out of town. What's the point of giving me a Card and saying to call them and they will get me in right away. I use Dr. Crooks, Ortho Arizona for my issues with my back. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr, Crooks. However, the North Scottsdale office at 9815 N. 95th St, Bldg. H, Scottsdale AZ 85258 has really dropped the ball for my - BIG time. 2/23/2026: I have a ADOT Disability Placard. On 2/23/2026, I sent the office a letter, a completed application and mailed it to their office, along with a self-addressed, postage paid envelope. All they had to do was sign and date the form and mail it back to me. Seems simple enough. About three weeks later, I called and emailed numerous times to inquire on the status of my ADOT application. No answer. 3/15/2026: I called on about 3/15/2026, and left a voice message on their auto-attendant. No call back or reply. 3/20/2026: On 3/20/2026, I remailed the information included in my original 2/23/2026 letter, with the completed ADOT form, again with a self-addressed postage paid envelopment. No response. Late last week, I receive a call from Ortho Arizona - 95th St office, V. Rios, to inquire about one of my voice messages. I explained everything from A to Z. She told me to send her the original 2/23/2026 information. I told her that I would need an email address because I could not attach WORD and scanned document to a text message from my phone. Shortly after our conversation, I got a text informing me to attached to original 2/23/2026 information. BTW: She completely ignored me not being able to attached WORD document on my computer info to a cell phone text. I replied back explaining I needed an email address. I shortly got a reply with an email address. I forward all of the 2/23/26 information attached to the email address and asked that they acknowledge receipt of the information attached to the email. NO REPLY. Because my email was not returned as "Undeliverable" and my email showed up in my "Sent" email folder, I can only assume that it was delivered. My ADOT placard expires on the last day of March 2026. I began my" journey" on 2/23/2026. Neither of my two letters was return by the USPS as undeliverable. It safe to conclude that each letter was delivered. Letter's not replied to, emails not replied to, etc. etc. I have to give Ortho Arizona North Scottsdale, 95th Street office and BIG FAT F. Only because I do not know anything lower than an F! FYI: Most of the dates are accurate. However, a few I had to guess. But gthere was no guessing on what happened. NOTHIN! read more

A PAINFUL AND FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE - WOULD NOT RECOMMEND If you enjoy enduring excruciating pain with minimal treatment options and unhelpful aftercare, then this orthopedic facility might be for you. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Dinowitz for relief from severe pain in the base of my thumb. Initially, his medical assistant, Kai, was excellent--friendly, communicative, and thorough. After an X-ray, I waited for 30 minutes, only to be seen by a PA instead of the doctor I had scheduled with. When I expressed that I had specifically requested Dr. Dinowitz, the PA abruptly left the room. Another 30-minute wait followed before Dr. Dinowitz finally arrived, asking me the same questions I had already answered twice. His only treatment suggestion was Voltaren Gel--which I had already tried unsuccessfully for months--before proceeding straight to a cortisone injection with no other options discussed. The pain of this procedure was agonizing, comparable to childbirth without an epidural. The discomfort subsided after 10 minutes, but the experience wasn't over. I was presented with overpriced splint options--either $40 upfront or $20 with potential later charges of up to $145. A quick online search revealed the same splints for just $30. THE WORST AFTERCARE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED About 45 minutes after the injection, sharp pains started shooting through my thumb. By 8 PM, I had exhausted all over-the-counter pain relief with no effect. I called the after-hours line, only to receive dismissive advice from Dr. Ryan Odgers, the on-call physician. His solution? Call 911 or go to the ER --completely impractical after a procedure that should have included proper pain management. When I requested stronger medication, he claimed he couldn't prescribe narcotics. I endured 10 hours of unnecessary pain due to inadequate care. With the high premiums of private insurance, I shouldn't have to choose between suffering or going to the ER for relief. I do not recommend this facility. The poor communication, lack of treatment options, painful procedures, and unacceptable aftercare make this place one to avoid. read more

I've actually had a good experience with the doctors I've seen, but their practice has incredibly deceptive billing. They lied about the price of medical equipment, waited to bill insurance for nearly a year (long enough we can no longer dispute it) and then sent me a bill after a year! The scheduler is telling me she's been trying to get a hold of me and I have no record of her calling!!! She told me it's my phone. lol. I recently had a procedure at OrthoArizona in Gilbert, Surgery center. Great treatment there. However, after following instructions & taking 800 mg of ibuprofen and icing, I was experiencing pain. I left a message for his medical assistant at the Gilbert office, which is separate than the surgical center because ibuprofen and Tylenol weren't helping. I was very specific that I only needed a small amount -- not a long-term prescription. Instead of being treated with understanding, the medical assistant called me sounding dismissive and questioning my request. I was in pain and didn't feel like arguing over something so simple, so I had to hang up. I understand there are restrictions on opioids, but I have no history of abuse and have had multiple surgeries in recent years, so I know my pain levels. I take ibuprofen regularly for spinal issues, and it still wasn't enough. What bothered me most wasn't just the denial of pain relief -- it was the tone and lack of empathy. Because of this experience, I will not be returning. I expect respect and compassion from a medical office, especially after paying for care. My husband and I took time off work for my 8:30 a.m. appointment and arrived early at 8:15 a.m., as instructed. Despite this, I wasn't seen until 9:25 a.m., which left me anxious about missing a second, unrelated medical appointment later that morning. When I politely asked about the delay, the x-ray technician told staff I needed to leave by 9:45 -- to which they responded with eye-rolls, rudeness, and complete indifference. No one made an effort to move things along, get the doctor, or even offer a basic apology for the 90-minute delay. Eventually, I had to leave without ever seeing the doctor, despite having already paid the $67 copay. That same day, I rebooked in person with Dr. Song, a doctor I've seen before. The front desk confirmed my appointment for October 7, and someone finally apologized for the previous incident. Fast forward to October 7 -- I called to confirm (because I hadn't received the usual reminder) and was told my appointment had been cancelled without notice. Even worse, they falsely claimed I was a "new patient" and that Dr. Song was not accepting new patients. I am absolutely not a new patient, and this explanation was just an excuse for pure negligence. Let me be very clear: No one contacted me about the cancellation. No one verified my existing patient status. My husband and I had already taken another day off work and traveled to be there. The level of disorganization, unprofessionalism, and outright disrespect from this office is unacceptable. To make matters worse, I've left multiple messages for the business manager -- all of which have gone ignored. Lastly, I want it on record that if this office dares to send a bill to my insurance for the x-ray (despite never seeing a doctor or receiving care), it will be challenged. That would be entirely inappropriate and unethical. I had a wonderful experience with Ortho Arizona. If you must have orthopedic surgery or therapy I highly recommend this practice. At my first appointment for a painful right shoulder I was given non-surgical options and referrals as well as information about a shoulder replacement. After going through pain management and physical therapy with little improvement I opted for a reverse total shoulder replacement. Dr. Michael Hayman did a fantastic job and I was surprised at my quick recovery with minimal pain. Gabrielle Garrison, his nurse practitioner, was very helpful and supportive both pre and post surgery. The physical therapists at the same location are dedicated and thorough and I give them a lot of credit for my successful recovery. The office staff and radiology techs are great as well. As an older person I did not expect such a successful outcome but that's exactly what I got. If I ever need any other orthopedic procedures I will not hesitate to call Ortho Arizona again. read more

They were great up until surgery, after my daughters surgery they act like you're just a number. I had a radiologist slammed a door in my face while I was trying to understand what all was being xrayed and if I needed to do anything. And they basically told me it's not safe for me to be in the room, but when I asked if they can cover my daughter with a vest to protect her reproductive organs they said it's not required anymore, as it's safe. Which contradicts what they just told me about it being safe? So as I took a second to think about that, another radiologist said "get in or get out, we need to shut the door either way" it was just very rude and a very unpleasant experience. They were all acting this way, if it was just one, I would think it's a one off, but the whole radiologist team in there was rude and had attitude with me.. this tells me it's a work culture issue here. I also have had a hard time scheduling followup appts with this office, and getting answers post surgery about prescription questions. I've had to call and leave several messages. Doesn't feel like as much care and attention as we got prior to the surgery. read more

I had my hip replacement surgery on Oct 2025 by doctor Genesh. The surgery went great as well as the follow ups. Their post-op service is excellent, they responded to my inquiry calls very quickly. I will move all my future needs from deer valley location to Mcdowell location even I have to drive 30 extra miles because what matters to the patients is how they get treated! read more

I waited 3 months for an initial appointment with Dr. Edward Song of oa, then day before at 2:30 they cancelled it and told me that the earliest appointment was another 3 months away. They knew (or should have known) that I needed help as I am continuing extreme pain. Customer Service!! If you work in the front you should treat everyone the same! The white girl with the flannel on is always rude to me when I come. I stood in front of her for a good 2 minutes before talking there was no " I'll be right with you" or let me get to you as soon as I can" no greeting I get they were busy but I only seen one lady in the corner who greeted all her check ins and carried a small conversation with them. They said well sorry you can t see the doctor because your referral expired!!!!!! is that a joke? Dr Corey Nelson saw me after an acute proximal hamstring evulsion. He told me PT was my only option...at my age. I stressed to him how active I am, but he still said I was too old, I'd be fine doing PT. After a month of PT I was unable to walk around the block, walked very unsteadily, extremely slow, and every step was painful. I normally log up to 5 miles a day, or more. A surgeon friend and my PCP told me surgery was necessary and I wasn't too old. I had surgery 2.5 months after my fall, and I have a functional leg again, with the muscle anchored back to the bone. When you're missing a muscle, it was dangling and retracting down to my knee, walking any distance is impossible. I'm so thankful for my PCP Dr Daniel Abelev, my friend Dr John Reid, and the great surgeon, Dr Laura Vogel, who performed my surgery. I'm very disappointed with Dr Nelson and his refusal to bring me back to my active self. I walk confidently, normal stride and speed, and I can walk long distances again. I discovered that not having this surgery leads to sciatica, I also avoided that painful condition. read more

These folks have lost a sensitivity chip over the last few years. They booked me, yet again, at another location without any communication that the appointment would not be at N Gilbert. One too many times this has happened, and not an ounce of remorse. The young people at the front desk are so far away from experiencing arthritis pain, and what determination it takes to get to an appointment with a chronic condition. Good for you, but your day will come. Look back and be ashamed at how little empathy you had for others. I will be seeking a new medical practice in the New Year. I've tolerated enough from this one. We were vacationing in New Orleans when some drunken tool stepped on my ankle putting me out of commission for 12 weeks. After my trip to the wonderful emergency room when we got home I was referred here for treatment and I was honestly taken really good care of by my doctor he knew exactly what was wrong with me and is continuing to care for me as long as needed. I went in with foot pain. The doctor interrupted me multiple times during our two appointments and never even asked me to walk to see what the problem was. There was a confusion with billing regarding an MRI. I was never given a clear understanding of what my final responsible total would be before considering insurance. It took four calls over a full week to get ahold of their billing department. I left messages to return my calls but received nothing. When I finally got ahold of them, the Accounts Payable representative (Kathryn Berdine) was unhelpful and did not care at all about my experience as a customer and only cared about clearing the account. She did not listen or attempt to understand. I felt like a cog in a system. This office clearly does not care about customer service or treating their customers like people. Went for my pre-opp got a call 2 days later that Song was passing me off to another dr. After getting that straightened out get another call that Dr Song can't help me.
