Ortho NY is unprofessional and ride. Emily Echs is a terrible and ride PA. The receptionists are also condescending and downright rude. ​ My 90 year old mother came for her follow up and was 10 min late and they refused to even see her. Then when I complained about it, they kicked me out. Dr. JACKSON should be more aware of how rudely his patients are treated. They are really the worst. Do not go there. read more

Rude & unhelpful phone support!!! I called from the Emergency Room to request an appt to review X-rays & discuss treatment. The woman who answered was EXTREMELY irritable, unhelpful and nasty. After multiple long pauses & deep sighs, she continued to confirm that no appointments were available in any location on any day... for the upcoming week. My review for Northeast Orthopaedics is long overdue. I was referred to Northeast Orthopaedics by my primary care doctor, so that a thorough re-examination of my knees could be done after having suffered an injury several years ago. I ended up with Dr. James Alfandre, working out of the Latham Northeast Orthopaedics office. The entire practice -- from the receptionist, to the nurses, to Dr. Alfandre himself -- were all excellent and detailed. They were really helpful and accommodating, and they got me an appointment without having to wait an eternity. The doctor's follow-up with results and a copy of my x-rays was also prompt. Northeast Orthopaedics and Dr. Alfandre are top notch. read more

Another worthless medical facility. Schedule a follow up appt for 8am. First person in the door and checked in. It's 8:07 and three people that came in after me get scene. How is that even possible when you have the first appointment for the morning??? So of course go to the reception and lost my crap given the situation. She than walks to the back and when she comes out just sits down. I have to get back up and only than yells me the Dr is running late. It's 8:20am ! That's more than running late and you couldnt have told me that when I checked in ?! As a patient I have to be on time, I have to confirm my appointment and of I'm late shit it's like paying the no show cost and of course we pay a no show cost. So why is the Dr not paying me the no show cost and now I have to wait for another 3 weeks to get in because like most ppl who have to get to work on time and are accountable had to leave after waiting 20 damn minutes! Do not go to these people if you have a choose and absolutely do not see Dr. Sahoo ! She along with her staff seem to feel it's ok not to be upfront with the patient on the fact of times and you will wait of she ever shows up ! read more

After my daughter took a spill on the stairs st home, took my daughter to this location today. When registering we were told they can only deal with one body part at a time even though she hurt both her hand and her ankle. After a reasonable amount of time we were brought in to a room and an xray was taken of her hand only. After that she was escorted back to the room and after waiting an entire hour I went out to inquire as to how soon we were to be seen at which point we were told ther is only one doctor. After waiting another period of time and having my daughter continuously in pain and noticing there was no activity at all in the place I Inquired again only to be told that there was as still 4 people ahead of us and it could take any amount of time before we ate seen. I told the staff that if they can not tell us how much longer it would take than we are leaving for another office which we did. We thereafter went to the urgent care at the bone and joint center. They were absolutely willing to check out both her ankle as well as her hand and including registration and xrays we were done in a little over 20 minutes with a cast on her hand and a brace on her ankle despite the fact that they also had only one Dr on staff. read more

Ortho NY does NOT care about their patients well being. Not before during or after... They shove surgery down your throat and make you believe it is the ONLY option... My mother has suffered terribly because of these bastards... Before her surgery 3 years ago she had some pain and stiffness in her hip joint... She is now left immobile and in excruciating pain EVERY DAY... we have tried to seek other opinions and can't get out of ortho Ny.. The surgeon who did her surgery couldn't even explain to me what he did in the surgery... They took my mother's life and gave her a life of immeasurable pain... She is only 58 years old... Dont let these people hurt your family like they did mine... read more

I was a loyal patient for 15 years of OrthoNY. Loyal to Dr's. Goldstock, Suslak, Dixon and Parikh, and still thank all of them for their work, but need to acknowledge that a very bad wrong has been done here. Dr's Suslak and Goldstein worked on difficult surgeries involving domestic violence and each should be commended for either saving a body part or allowing me to walk. Both were awesome - no matter how one looks at it. Dr. Dixon provided his excellent knowledge on my first non-emergency or urgent surgeries and I thank him as profusely as the aforementioned doctors. I had thought he had such a good attitude, also... Dr. Parikh provided the best migraine prophylaxis I've ever had, until the appointment making became "no, we will call you to make it", and that call never came. Apparently I would later be blamed for "missing appointments" that had never been made by me, when I tried to make them, and never were made known to me, when OrthoNY made them themselves! I also fractured my spine and Dr. Parikh was "assigned" as the doctor for treatment when I went to their on-call or urgent care. There was no explanation of why there was no treatment given. At one point doctor Parikh insisted I go from cab to hospital for anorexia treatment (which I was already receiving), because he couldn't help me with the back. This was many months after the accident and not one word from him in between, but many opinions from other doctors outside of his practice, and a hospital where I was referred to -once- for the excruciating pain. Thereafter, I just took the pain. And wondered what Dr. Parikh's sudden show of an issue with me was?! He had asked and knew that I remained and remain a victim of domestic violence, although having nobody living with me and avoiding most relationships. I do contact police, when necessary. I continued to receive Botox for migraine therapy, until more recently when I got a bad attempt of a "broad all patient form letter" saying they were not doing that procedure any longer, and that patients could have their files transferred... This was sent via snail mail when I had no internet working and I had been recovering from an unplanned inpatient stay after a same-day surgery with Dr. Dixon and had missed my appointment for suture removal. I also had no way to get there, looking back at this situation. So, perhaps this absence from a scheduled appointment did it, but that's ridiculous! The other "absences" would be from the "non-appointments" with Dr. Parikh! I am greatly offended and disgusted with the attitude of this practice! Dr. Parikh should not probe a quiet patient for information on her life, if he's going to be using it against her - especially if he #1 knows there's abuse going on and does not report it! (I have been encouraged to and will be taking this up with a medical board!) and #2 will be using such personal info against her when not knowing all of it, such as having treatment in place already! Shame on you, OrthoNY! And to you, as well Dr. Parikh. I am hoping Dr. Dixon, that you aren't involved, because I also trusted you. read more

The only good part about my visit was the friendly nurses. I was told at the reception desk that they take my insurance. Two months later I get a letter saying that my insurance wouldn't cover my expenses because OrthoNY doesn't take my insurance. After several calls and not getting anything accomplished, I paid for everything by myself. It makes no sense how they could make this mistake and were unwilling to do anything to fix it. read more

I went to the Albany Ortho NY in May. The bill was almost $200 after insurance paid some of it (it cost $190 just to walk in there). Since I work 2 jobs and couldn't pay the balance in full I started making $25 payments in June when I got my first bill. I missed the October payment but sent $25 to them on 11/11/18. I was going to pay the rest ($75) with my Christmas bonus in mid-December. Yesterday, December 4th, I received a telephone call from a collection agency. It appears that my account was sent to them since there still remained an outstanding balance! NEVER ONCE did I hear from them that my account was going to collections. I have never, ever, ever heard of an entity sending an account to a collection agency when the bill was being paid monthly. If they had reached out to me to tell me it was going to collections I would have made every effort to pay the remaining balance in full! I spoke to an office manager who seemed like she could care less and never once offered to work with me. Apparently, us little people with little funds don't matter when in fact we are the ones keeping them in business. The thing that bothers me the most is that I was making an effort to pay the bill off with monthly payments but apparently it wasn't good enough or quick enough for them. I have lots of friends, family and clients who ask me all the time for referrals for various entities in the Capital Region. I will be sure to tell this story to everyone to STAY AWAY because you don't matter only your money does. I WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN! read more

Had an appt. with this group in a different area. Trying to find a doctor in the surrounding area for my daughter who has a bone disorder. Right off the bat, Dr. Varney let me know my daughter would most benefit from a pediatric ortho...which I completely understood. I stated that I wanted to find an orthopedic doctor that would be willing to WORK WITH a Shriners that my daughter sees annually because they are one of 3 hospitals knowledgeable in her condition and because the condition she has is quite rare. Dr. politely accused me of wanting to find a Dr. that would do what I wanted them to do, or do exactly as Shriners told them to and outright told maybe I should just take her to the Shriners that is 3-4 hours away with a traumatic break. (If I CAN'T find great care in the area, I WILL drive 3-4 hours away but If you had your choice of having great care an hour away or 3-4 hours away, what would you want for your child??) Anyway, it was not what I meant at all...but do Dr.'s in any field know everything they need to know about it??? Don't they refer to other doctors or resources within their field when they are unsure of something??? Or shouldn't they? Is there such an aversion to learning from an expert in the field?? Even as I left, I said "Thank you, doctor" and got a curt "You're welcome" without even looking up as we left. The nurses and assistants were excellent, I do have to say that. Very pleasant...very helpful. We did benefit from a referral to a Dr. Patel. But I did leave feeling deflated and a bit emotionally drained. So...Unelss you're a "normal" kid / adult without a rare bone condition....OrthoNY is not the place for you....or maybe you'll have better luck than I did. read more

I had an appointment with Dr. Fein for 7/21 and two days prior, I was called to cancel it because the Dr had surgery that day. It took three calls to get the new appointment and to find what office I would be going to. At the new appointment, I was met by a PA. Why cancel if that was their plans all the time. read more
