After being misdiagnosed by a different physician as just having a bad sprain - and walking on that leg for about 3 weeks - I was referred to Dr T who, after exam and xrays discovered that I had a broken fibula. After reviewing the pros and cons of treatment surgery was scheduled fir the next day. I met Dr T at a surgery center (for outpatient surgery) and he performed surgery on my leg to repair the broken bone. I ended up with a plate and 9 screws in my leg and yes - that is as nasty as it sounds. I have seen Dr T several times for follow ups and post surgical evaluations. He is extremely personable and always takes the time to answer all of my questions. His office staff at this location are also very friendly and competent. Worthy of special mention is his Medical Secretary Chloie who is a truly magnificent communicator and is extremely efficient in getting me all the report copies I request. I highly recommend Dr T to anyone who needs orthopedic surgery and or evaluation.

He was very patient, answered all of our questions as well as making sure we understood everything he was explaining. We did not feel at all rushed and were encouraged to ask him about anything that that was of any concern with regard to my mothers recovery. They said although my daughter did not have an "open" surgery, because of the type of "practice" it is, they are ALLLOWED to bill as a "closed surgery", despite stating there was no hands-on or manipulation of my daughter's foot. She had been seen and x-ray'ed prior at urgent care and she was only coming to this ortho for the fitting of a boot. Basically stated, the fitting of her boot was considered a "surgery". Complete BS and unethical. I am posting this so others consider other locations before this one to save yourself a hefty bill!!!! PS- you know it's shady when even your insurance company couldn't believe they'd sink that low.

So I am certainly not going to speak poorly about General Orthopedics as a whole. The women who…read morehandle reception are wonderful, courteous, kind, and thorough. Will Smith is amazing. Professional, kind, super chill, and very knowledgable. My only complaint is Art Smuckler. Now as far as his skill level, craft of the orthotics, and his knowledge and thoroughness with orthotics, feet, and the over all body mechanic knowledge he's fantastic. BUT, and it's a big but, his bedside manner is atrocious. I first saw Art for my orthotic fitting. Typical old school guy. Big ego. Talks a lot about himself and how he works with "the best athletes in the world" and the "highest level NBA teams." OK fine. I've dealt with big egos before. Prior to my 1st fitting (after meeting Art and my initial consult), reception messaged and said that the sneakers Art wanted me to buy from the office were no longer available in the color that I wanted. The women I spoke to suggested that I choose another style or purchase sneakers of my own in 2 sizes: 1/2 size bigger and a full size bigger, just to be sure. I purchased my own sneakers as instructed and waited in the room for Art. When Art came in he was very upset that I purchased my own shoes. I told him what had happened, but he didn't care. We continued with the fitting and he would not let it go. He completely lost it when I told him that I wasn't fond of the selection at the office which is why I purchased my own sneakers. He screamed at me. He got very close in my face and he was screaming at me saying: "You don't know who you're dealing with Honey!" "I'm the most sought after person in my field and I work with the most famous sportsman in the world!" At a certain point I was scared. I'm a smaller framed woman and he was looming over me yelling at me and pointing at me in my face. He threw one of the sneakers that I purchased across the room into the shoe box. I told him that he was being very unprofessional and that I did not want to deal with him any longer. At that point I demanded that he get Will Smith to finish my appointment. I had spent over $600 for the orthotics. I wasn't going to waste it. Will Smith came in and apologized for Art's behavior. Will also said that it was totally fine that I brought in my own sneakers. He approved of the brand and made his own suggestions. I will be going back only because of Will. The entire practice is great except for Art and his extremely large ego. As a woman, I do not feel safe with Art. He's very nasty and takes the slightest thing personal. I give General Orthotics a 4 because over all everyone is lovely. Art Smuckler, not so much.

Went to Dr Dixon for a swelling/burning left ankle and severe pain. Walking was horrific. I have…read moresevere flat feet. The pain was so bad. He told me to use an arthritis cream and had me fitted for custom made arch supports. Well the custom made arches made it worse. By end of day I could hardly walk. Cannot describe the pain. Went back to him 6 months later and he tells me I need surgery. That I no longer have mobility with my left foot. He said his nurse would be in touch to schedule the surgery. That was November 2024. To date I'm still editing for his nurse to contact me for surgery. Called several times and could only leave a message. I went to the Bone and Joint Center. What a difference. Dr Rosenbaum was so friendly. Thorough. Surgery was set up that very day I saw him. Go see him. He's highly recognized as one of the best foot/ankle surgeons in the area. .

They were caring, funny, very personalized in their wonderful care. I highly recommend going here. Everyone from to the front desk staff to all the nurses and doctors really helped make my surgery a positive experience.
