I was disappointment with my experience at the Orthopedic Walk In practice on Ensign Drive in Avon. After a clear shoulder injury and severe pain, conclusions were quickly jumped to and comparisons made to patients who are decades older than me, rather than on my actual history and symptoms. When I later had the follow up with the Orthopedic Physician, my concerns were again not fully heard, and the evaluation relied heavily on the PA's initial ( and incorrect) assumption, instead of reassessing my condition. Advanced imaging was initially refused, and I was sent to Physical Therapy. After months of limited improvement, imagining was finally ordered and showed that the initial assumption was wrong. Patients deserve to be listened to, have their concerns taken seriously, and to receive thoughtful, individualized care. Relying on age based comparisons and repeating unexamined assumptions can lead to delayed diagnosis, prolonged pain, and unnecessarily/ incorrect treatment. read more

This review is for the Avon location. I went in with high expectations ! By the end of the day I realized, there were some definite downsides and disappointments. Yes it is walk in and somewhat fast to get looked at, but you pay a price for this, you are hurried thru so they are not thorough in there examination and diagnose the most obvious condition but not the causes and not if you have multiple things going on at the same time. And watch out for the things they may offer you that are in house and not covered by your insurance. read more

My experience with this Aris Yannopoulos, MD was extremely troubling. I was initially told there was a spinal issue and that surgery might be needed. After physical therapy worsened my pain, my follow-up visit was the complete opposite--my symptoms were dismissed, I was told nothing was wrong, and that I should just work out more. I was also told that surgery had never been discussed. When I mentioned I was in pain and could not walk he said yes you can you're not in pain. Go home and take a Tylenol. Your spine is perfect you are so lucky. I later obtained a second opinion and was diagnosed with a condition requiring spinal fusion, with clear warnings that delaying surgery could result in permanent nerve damage. I have never been spoken to so dismissively in a medical setting. If you are dealing with ongoing pain or neurological symptoms, I strongly urge you to seek another opinion rather than relying solely on this provider. read more

Alex was great. Excellent overall service and very knowledgeable team - from their on site X-ray technician to the physician assistants. If they are not 100% sure of what they are seeing on the X-ray, they seek the help of others in their team. And when it comes to issues like my foot injury, that's the teamwork attitude you want regardless of where you go. Also appreciated their "Urgent Care" focus on "Ortho" issues so you are not at an urgent care facility where they may or may not have that expertise/experience. We had to travel a bit to the location, but totally worth it. My brother in-law has used one of their other locations and recommended this place when I injured my foot trying new running shoes on our treadmill. While my brother in law's recommendations are not always on the mark (specially some of his restaurant suggestions), he was on target with these folks . On a side note, the casual Mexican restaurant directly across from them on the other side of the street (watch out for heavy traffic) was a pleasant surprise - not fancy but good veggie burritos made in front of you. ONE TECHNICAL SUGGESTION: It would add significant value to new urgent care customers if they launched a mobile app to let you schedule your appointment online ahead of the visit. These are ready available now and low cost - so hope they launch this soon. read more

Visited urgent care in Manchester. The front desk staff were rude and condescending. My husband further observed them once I left the waiting room and was shocked at their behavior. The PA dismissed my issue saying - that's not the spot people point to when they have hip pain and refused to do anything about my excruciating hip pain other than show me stretches I was already doing. I only give 4 stars because of the ladies in the front-super rude and miserable! Very unwelcoming, and I could hear them giving attitude to each of the patients! The doctor was great, and so were the x-ray staff. Please address the service patients are getting in the front, it is unacceptable. Otherwise, Dr. Cloutier was fantastic! read more
