Their out of hours care is borderline terrible. Our family had the vet out during the night when it was very clear that our dog was in a great deal of distress and had come to the end of the line. The vet refused to do the humane thing and pumped painkillers into it, requesting that we wait until the following day for euthanasia. One hour later and the painkillers were not working, the dog was in agony and the vet refused to come back to put it to sleep. We were forced to drive to their other surgery which was almost an hour away to finally give our dog peace. When we arrived, the vet insisted we wait for the nurse to arrive before he put the dog to sleep, so we had to wait for over 10 minutes whilst the dog bellowed and howled in agony on the table, until the right thing was finally done. Some of the vets here are very good, this vet was not.

She clearly adores her job and the animals she meets. It's a delight to be able to take your pet into a shop too. The place itself is easy to find, just inside the Ravenswood shopping area, to the left. Parking is almost always at the door. Inside is pristine and airy, with a small waiting area at the back. Free snacks for pets are to hand to keep the little fellas under control. They stock bark collars, to dog beds, horse lotions to ear drops. The vets themselves work on a rota in a single room - and though major treatments have to be booked into the Orwell Pet Hospital, the whole process is seamless they'll even take your pet for you and return them safely to Perfect Petcare for collection. All in all, a wonderful place.

The staff are very helpful and friendly - and you get the sense that they really like looking after the dogs (and cats). There are a few long-term boarders there and many returning dogs. Also, it can be very busy during holiday season so worth booking the time in advance. On an even more positive note - Charlie always comes back full of beans, tail wagging and smelling extremely clean, with gleaming fur. All you dog owners will appreciate how nice it is to have a good smelling pooch (at least for a little while).

This is a new (opened Jan 2008) vets which has opened between Needham Market and Stowmarket…read more I spotted the signs for this vet and told a friend about it and she was unfortunate enough to need it when her daughters cat was run over. She told me they were fantastic and didn't charge the earth. A couple of months later my dog was having breathing problems and I thought I would give them a try as I don't much care for the vet I normally use. Cedarwoods vets were fantastic nothing was too much trouble they respected my decision not to have her exrayed with her breathing being so bad (they would have had to put her to sleep to do this). We was going on holiday the following week if the dog was better and they managed to fit me in on the Monday morning to check her over before we went. I can't praise this Vets practice enough. Overall I had 8 visits with treatment on all but one visit and blood tests this was just short of £250-00 which I thought was excellent value. Well worth a visit if you need a friendly vet who doesn't charge the earth and is willing to spend time explaining things to you.

We have used Goldbrook kennels since Don and Sara took over in 2016. We found them by chance and…read morehave never looked back. Although not having been on holiday since summer 2022 (other than a 2 night period 2023) our two, now older dogs, knew where they were immediately and were very comfortable settling into "their" Goldbrook routine. Our 2 younger dogs and their first stays, easily followed suit. Our own morning routine is a brief run around our 2/3rds acre garden followed by breakfast and a return to their kennels before a combined heel walk. Don and Sara, by walking all the dogs individually every morning are replicating our dog's normal routine thus putting any concerned dogs at ease. The dogs themselves can thus individually build a relationship with Don and Sara and become quickly comfortable with their "new pack leaders" which significantly reduces the stress on them. For the rest of the day our pack have enjoyed time out in the run adjacent to their kennel block as they would in our garden at home. We picked up 4 very happy, individual needs, stress free and contented dogs. We cannot recommend Goldbrook Kennels highly enough for their totally dedicated approach to enriching the stay of the dogs in their care.

I've taken Barney before to be cleaned and trimmed and although he's never stayed in the kennels we have spent time there, looking around, having a chat. I have found the team to be friendly and excellent communicators both with humans and animals! They have been very generous in sharing their knowledge (Barney, as a rescue dog, has one or two 'issues') , handy hints and advice which worked and giving me back a beautifully groomed dog. I couldn't recommend them highly enough and now I'm going to phone and make another appointment.

Dog always loved going here the staff are very friendly and the place is always busy. Part of the kennels is also a horse livery so there are always people around.
