There is one barber chair, so if there's multiple people sitting down, rest assured it's going to take a long time. There was a gentleman getting his cut and two people sitting on the couches. They also have two clothing racks with various apparel for sale, it's like a satellite version of the Newport News flea market. I took a seat on the broken couch right under the TV which was blaring BET at a volume usually reserved for trailers in the movie theaters. Two or three other people came in and sat as well. We had no idea how long the wait was going to be or who was even next in line. I got a little impatient because the same guy who was sitting in the chair when I entered, and had a half an inch of hair all the way around his head, was still sitting there 30-35 minutes later. Needing to get on with my day, I walked out and drove away. Hopefully, Groupon will refund my purchase, or at the very least allow me to exchange it for another one.

I decided to let mine grow, and grow it did, eventually morphing into a ponytail. It got to the point to where it was a bother, and I decided I needed to get it taken care of. I wanted a good haircut in a good barbershop....not an $18 cut at a chain shop. Internet research led me to The Proper Barbershop. I had a terrific experience at The Proper. Alexandria listened to what I had in mind and took excellent care of me. Great cut, hot towels, beard and mustache maintained, eyebrows trimmed, hot lather straight razor shave, facial massage.....just outstanding. After all was said and done, I had ten years shaved (pun intended) off my appearance, and I received more compliments on the cut/trim than I could count. I can't recommend The Proper Barbershop enough...great atmosphere, friendly attentive staff, and a most excellent result....well worth every penny!

The shop is full of barbers and non willing to take a walk-in, even when they aren't working on someone. So give it a try only if you have two plus hours to burn, if not take your money and time somewhere else.
