I have gone here twice and the service has been so poor. It's sad because it's placed in our new shopping mall. First time I went, I wanted my toes painted and shellac for my nails. My toes were painted but I was forgotten about after that. This second time I thought I would give Oscar's another chance. Nope. Still poor quality on all services I purchased. Maybe we're spoiled here in Tyler with our 100 other nail salons, but when I'm getting pampered, refreshments are always offered to me. This is something not offered at Oscar's. I made an appointment three days ago for a manicure and pedicure today. I arrived five minutes before my appointment time. Ten minutes after I was directed to a chair, another patron was seated next to me, and her water tub was filled with warm, sudsy water Not more than two minutes later, a technician was attending to her, beginning her pedicure. Thirty minutes later I am still sitting with no water and no technician, though several people have stopped by to tell me that "someone will be with me soon." I asked the woman next to me (her pedicure almost completed now) what time her appointment was, thinking that it must have been before mine. She replied that she did not have an appointment. Apparently, neither appointments or arrival time matter in this place. Next time, my business will go to a business that respects my time. I understand being swamped and/or understaffed. But I don't understand tending to a patron with no appointment immediately while allowing a patron with an appointment to sit and wait 49 minutes. read more

I was on vacation and found this place within a shopping plaza. I went in and was greeted by the friendly staff.. I got a mani pedi combo that turned out beautiful! My technician was accommodating and made sure I left pleased. A big bonus is the free wine they offer to clients! read more

If this app would let me rate a 0, I would rate a 0. I'm from out of town and stopped in to get a basic pedicure and shellac manicure before a going out to a nice dinner. For the pedicure, the lady didn't do a good job removing my cuticles...it was like she was using the tool, but "faking it"...hardly removed anything at all. Then after looking at her polish, there was polish on several parts of my skin...did she not know where the nail stopped? There's even a corner of my nail that she completely missed...no polish at all. For my shellac manicure, the lady got polish all over my cuticles and down the sides...did she not know where the nail stopped? The manager said it was my fault because I asked for 2 people to do it at the same time. Just for the record, I was seated in the spa chair for the entire pedicure. And for the manicure, another lady only prepped my nails standing next to me. She had me sit down at her table for the polish, like a regular manicure. When I explained this to him, he said "sorry, I thought she was standing up". Then he complains to me that I cannot get a refund because the services are already completed. For the record, I never asked for a refund of any kind...never came out of my mouth. I only wanted to let him know and show him the poor job done by both ladies. He did offer to have someone else re-do both, but again, just came in before dinner, so I don't have time to spend another hour here. And I'm from out of town, so will never be back. This is literally the worst looking pedi and mani. It looks like I tried to do it myself, which would have been free. read more

This place looks so nice from the outside but really disappointed when came inside. Service is not friendly. Does NOT look or feel sanitary. Very rushed through manicure/ pedicure. They used reusable jet thing in the foot soak and was NOT cleaned in between customers. Atmosphere was cluttered and unclean. Not impressed. My daughter and I visited this nail salon for the first time on Wednesday, upon arriving we were greeted by a very pleasant lady who made us feel welcome and was happy to answer our questions. We opted for the service where they dip your nail into the colored powder (not sure of the name) it was very quick and a pleasant experience, we left there happy with the service and our beautiful nails, however, tonight (Sunday) the polish on one of her nails just came off in one piece, she was so disappointed but since she's only 12 I'll assume she was just too rough with her nails and take her tomorrow to have it redone. I've been once before and it was a good experience. This second time however, was very unpleasant. My tech was pretty rough and one time when clipping excess from the sides she nicked me pretty good. I pulled my hand back, because ouch. There wasn't really an apology that I could hear, but we did have masks on. ‍ She finished and I went to wash my hands, I was bleeding pretty good. I walked back to my spot and someone else that works there was in my spot with my purse and ticket on the chair beside me. I have been to enough nail salons to know that you don't give the customer one gel color swatch to choose from. Then practically butcher my nails and do the worst paint job I've ever seen. I went to this salon with my mother-in-law today. I was a little apprehensive due to some of the poor reviews I have seen on Yelp but let me tell you: I got THE BEST PEDICURE of my life! Nguyen was my nail tech and he was very attentive and meticulous with the polish. I almost fell asleep during the paraffin wax and hot stone massage! Highly recommend this place for a pedicure. I can't speak to their manicures yet, but I plan to return for a gel manicure soon. read more

The man that did my nails (I think he said his name was Andy) he held is tools at the wrong angle and while talking to another nail tech he nicked one of my fingers and drew blood. Of course I pulled my hand away and instead of him apologizing he blamed me. He kept telling me not to move my hand again ( as if he was concerned I might get hurt again) and I kept saying I didn't until he hurt me. Wish that I could give it less stars to be honest. No star review. I rarely post reviews but I figured I'd save you guys some money. First red flag, I showed the nail tech a picture of what I wanted. What I wanted and what I got were two different things. They think that they know everything... really need to learn to listen to their customers!! She put silver, I wanted pink! I even showed her a picture!! I wanted coffin shape. I continued to express that. She did almond. Four days later! My nail was broken! My actual nail split in half. I had to put a Band-Aid on it so that I can continue to go throughout my day since their salon was closed. I went back to the salon and told them I had a broken nail in it needed to be fixed. I sat there and waited for 30 minutes no one approached me until I called another nail salon. The owner or manager threw some glue on my nail and pretty much blamed me for having long nails. Needless to say, I went to Allure... next to Piada. I will not be going back because I feel like I wasted my money on this place! They were very busy and although we both got seated in a timely manner my daughters original tech left and was not replaced for about 40 minutes. I paid for both mine and my daughters nails and handled the transaction with the manager. I'm emailing to sing the praises of my technician Nancy. I've been with her for over 2 1/2 years. I have followed her wherever she is working. She has been very accommodating, and always has a time slot to fit me in when I need to be seen outside of my scheduled appt time . When I began seeing her, my nails were dry, peeling and splitting down into the quick due to frequent handwashing and use of alcohol gel used on my job as a nurse. She introduced me to the Nexgen Powdered nails / SNS. Now, My nails are always beautiful and manicured professionally. I have received continual compliments as to how lovely my nails look. I wouldn't see anyone else but Nancy to perform my mani/pedi's. Not only is Nancy a wonderful nail technician but has also become a very dear friend. She has treated me right every single time I have seen her. She is gentle and yet thorough. Unfortunately I had to move to Alabama. It was very difficult to find someone anywhere near the caliber that Nancy has been caring for my nails as Nancy has. I was going to refrain from writing a review since the pedicure was great (or so I thought) until I got home in better lighting and saw it was as screwed up as the rest of my experience. I have been here one other time and I thought it was great but I will NOT be returning after what I experienced today. I started off with a pedicure the gentleman I had was very nice and didn't try to up sale me or anything he generally asked me about my day. It wasn't strictly business. HOWEVER the lady that did my nails seemed to ask as if she had never done them before. I asked for acrylic nails with the dipped power on top. She acted as if she never heard of either of the two. Two of the other workers explained to her what I wanted so we finally sat down and she starts dipping my nails without adding the fake nail on after I asked and two other people told her as well. But I just said screw it I'll just get regular powder she's probably had a long day I'll just give her the benefit of the doubt. She starts dipping my nails and messed up. Instead of taking the powder off she literally re dipped my nail into the powder again and tried to cover it up doing a half a** job. And I looked at her like what are you doing and all she said was " you ok" in a semi rude tone as if she didn't want me looking at the mess she was doing. I kept my mouth shut for the simple thing that maybe she's going to turn this around and file it off. Joke was on me. And might I add she was only on the third nail. Not even half way done. She went back over the same nail again and kept scraping it off and finally added another dip which made my French tip line HALF OF MY NAIL. French tip shouldn't be half of your nail. I looked at her and she said " thick tip will be ok" I said no thick tip will not be ok. I need you to redo it. And then I raise up both hands and see the most crappy job ever. I thought she was going to shape them but no. She was about to put the top coat on. I told her to just stop and told her I don't not like this at all and she could see how upset I was she went and got the manager. I showed him my hands and he said " oh yes that does look terrible" and asked if I would just do it all one color. I agreed for the sake of time but they still let her work on my nails!! WTH! So she starts using the dremel to take off the 1/2 inch thick SNS powder she coated on my nails and was holding it on one spot for about 10 seconds it starts burning like my fingers are on fire. At this point I am boiling. I told them I need to leave for the sake of time. I told him I will pay for my pedi which was $40 and I tipped the guy that did it $10. I was going to wash it out and not review because I give businesses the benefit of the doubt but when I got home after an hour drive from the nail salon I see my big toe and the paint on it is bubbled in and completely cracked. I will never return. I am beyond upset. I haven't had a mani and pedi done in about a year. I plan to go and never end up because I am so busy with work and personal. I wanted today to be relaxing I was looking forward to this for an entire week. I drove an hour away to come to Tyler to get that from you guys and you completely failed that. I might as well took that $50 worth of pedi and 2 in a half hours worth of time and thrown it in the trash. Don't come here unless you like to throw money away. read more

I drove across town to try this place out since I had heard excellent things about their work. I still believe that to be true, BUT had a disappointing customer service experience. Yelp said they closed at 8, so I walked in at 6:45 with a friend and signed in to get a dip powder manicure. I was initially welcomed and told to take a seat with another woman who also signed in at 6:45. About five minutes later a woman comes up to me and talks about how her nail techs are tired and there were only 2 of them that day that had been doing nails all day long and she felt so bad for them, so she would have to turn my friend and I away. She could only take one more person. I don't have a lot of sympathy for them considering my friend and I work our butts off 12hrs a day as nurses and just wanted 30min of their time an hour before close. I don't understand how doing their job for 8-10hrs is too much to ask. Their craftsmanship may be great, but I have little respect for this establishment. read more

She asked what I needed and I answered with the two services for which I was scheduled. She asked, "Anyone do for you"? I said that it was my first time there and that I was very particular about my gel manicures. Again, blank stares. The man at the desk asked me my name, even tough I had introduced myself upon entering. As he continued to attempt to find my name on the schedule, even though there was only one other client in the salon, I decided that this was not going to be a relaxing and pampering experience and left for another nail spa. Cordiality and kindness are paramount for a business like this to succeed. They most certainly have not accomplished such a welcoming demeanor at Oscar Nails. read more

I called in the morning and made a manicure appointment for 2 at 5:30 pm. When I arrived, they kept trying to seat me and my sister in law separately even though we said we would wait for spots to open. After they caused scene in front of all the other ladies, my sister had to pull up a small chair just to sit next to me until another spot opened up. The lady I got was HORRIBLE! She was so rude and wouldn't say a word and handled my hands very rough. They also kept getting the wrong color for my sister. She wanted red and they kept trying to give her pink. Finally she got the color she wanted after 3 tries. I also asked if they could paint some flowers cause it says "nail art" on their menu. When I showed a picture my lady took my phone, showed it to the other artist and they laughed and said no to me. I was ok without flowers but they didn't have to be rude. I'm never going back there again! I don't think we were asking for the impossible when we wanted to sit next to each other after I made an appointment. It all started when I already had powder acrylic nails and just wanted them filled, they told me they couldn't do a fill and they had to soak them off and do a new set. I was like okay that's fine. He showed me the color acrylic colors and told me they were $40 so then when I sat down I waited not that long for them to soak them off, when I told the lady what color I wanted and she's like " that's not dip color " I told her I didn't want dip and her and another guy came and they argued me into get dip not to mention the guy who said it would be $40 turns out its $50 so I was like fine I'll do dip. She did a sloppy job the powder harden all under my nails and then before she would let me get up and pay, she wanted to make sure I was going to give her a tip, like seriously? How they treated me she didn't deserve one but I still did give her a small tip. All in all, I'm not going to come back to that place. read more

my daughter and i sent on 7/3/22. after waiting form20 minutes to be seated and picking out the colors we wanted for our nails, we were seated together and my daughter was started right away. we both chose the VIP package my daughter just for her toes while i chose both manicure and pedicure. I, on the other hand, received less than exceptional service and paid $105.00 for my package I receive no deep message on my feet or legs. the polish was left on my skin. when they did my nails I had chosen the dip with glitter to match my toes. when the first coat was put on I asked if there was glitter and was told there was. By the 3rd coat I told the gal that this is not the color I chose! maroon is NOT true red! everyone got upset then and I was being chastised for not saying anything. I finally get 2 coats of the correct color, but having 5 coatake on my nails is ugly thick! My fingers were red from the powder! I wanted out! My daughters and I just left this nail salon to get our nails done before the wedding. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. My daughter and I picked the same color of nail polish to be used. They only had one bottle, so they switched out the color we wanted for a color they had 2 bottles of. When we questioned the color, they insisted this was the one we chose. And during the pedicure, my cuticles were not even trimmed! Then, my other daughter, that is getting married, chose to do the dipping powder. She had been growing her nails out for a long time and asked them not to cut them. They cut them and filed them 6 times to the point they are down to quick of the nail. We are not happy at all about this experience and will never return to this establishment. My daughter is in tears now. Wow. Seriously the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. I got a full set of color powder nails put on and the guy doing my nails ASKED me if I liked the color after putting it on my PINKY nail..so I looked at it for a few seconds and he goes "you need to hurry up! It's hard to take off!" So I said "ya know what, I think I'll go with something else instead. Can I see the book again please?" and this guy BLEW. UP. He gives me THE dirtiest look and gets up and starts yelling in his native tongue, obviously pissed at me. So I said "is that going to be a problem?!" He gets the book and slams it down in front of me. I'm basically shaking at this point. I said "ok I'll go with #77 please" he does my nails angrily the whole time. Instead of drilling underneath the tips of the finished nails, he starts pulling on my nail REALLY hard until I had to say "ow! That hurts!" I felt like an imposition even though I was the PAYING CUSTOMER. I will NEVER go here again and will absolutely tell everyone I know to avoid it. The level of rudeness here is astounding. My mistake was to just walk in and take the next available technician, who happened to be an older gentlemen who apparently can't see very well. I've been 3 times now. First was a pedicure. It was okay but the polish began to chip after 10 days. Then I had my nails done: acrylic fills. It was satisfactory but certainly not great. The 3rd time was yesterday for acrylic fills again. The girl could barely speak English. I never understood anything she said. I questioned her twice to make sure she knew what she was doing. I have never had my nails done that way and I've been doing this since 1997. The end product was fine. She even waxed my eyebrows and did a good job with that. Would give no stars if I could. Upon arrival this place appeared beautiful and clean, I was directed to a chair immediately without any wait. I picked out my shellac color and the girl wrapped my nails in foil to remove the old shellac. She quickly told me the number for my color and left the spa, never saw her again. I sat there for 45 minutes and got a chemical burn on my finger tips. Someone finally replaced her and put down the clear base coat for my shellac, only once my nails were wet did she tell me to pick my color, my nails were to wet to look through them.... She took my phone away (it had a picture of the design I wanted) without saying a word. She came back and slammed the color swatches down backwards and told me to pick. I told her I couldn't tell what the color was upside down and finally managed to turn them over with my wet nails. The quality of the job was poor, I have bubbles and sharp places in my shellac and she was incredibly rude and distracted. She dug her nail into my finger and after I said ouch and pulled away she scoffed and said sorry very sarcastically. And if all this wasn't bad enough, two hours later when I was finally leaving my mother (who had already paid for both of us) got accused of not paying and wasn't allowed to leave the store until we showed them a receipt. I have been debating writing a review for quite some time, but the last few visits have been utterly horrible. David is my go-to nail tech I have been following him for quite some time. Over a year I believe. He's always been amazing and so pleasant to go to. But the customer service behind David is horrible, they are so cheesy and fake with their attempts to "serve you" I had asked for a drink and they forgot, I picked a color, had the book taken from me and 45 minutes later was expected to remember what number, she went a grabbed the color I had stated, wrong one I had in mind...doubled checked it in the book and to my surprise "I" was right she was wrong and she was trying to blame the book for being incorrect instead of apologizing. The manager guy is a total jerk and they treat their employees like trash. I am a regular there, every two weeks and they haven't bothered to remember my name, or treat me with any thanks or humbleness...I will be going to nirvana from now on, I hate to leave David behind but I cannot stand to go there anymore read more
