We came in without our luggage bags it was delayed arriving. Even tho it was early in the day, Natasa took our names and offers to get us rooms just as fast as possible. We went upstairs for brekkie and while we were up there she came up to let my colleagues know she had a room ready for them! When they mentioned I was waiting too, she invited us to the desk and she and her teammate, Thea, worked to get us all settled quite nicely and early too! Such fabulous customer service and attention! I think this is remarkable customer attention, especially these days when it is so hard to find. It is also currently the tallest building, so easy to find one's way back to the hotel if out wandering the area. Our room was a good size. However, the bathroom is a major safety hazard. There is a step up from the room floor level so that leaves a hazardous step down to exit. Something to keep in mind, especially at night. Also, there are no safety bars in marble floored shower so it's very very slippery. I also kept tripping on the door sill entering the room from the hallway. Our stay included a buffet breakfast. It was quite extensive with hot and cold items. If it weren't for the safety issues with the bathroom, I'd rate the hotel four stars. No one should risk broken bones while on vacation.

Most of the stores has more reasonable prices because they sell samples or last season/last year editions. Sometimes you get lucky and they even have something on sale from this season. Either way, it is a great place to check out if you are looking for good deals, especially on outdoor clothing items such as jackets for skiing, hiking and biking! Obviously these things are still pricy however you do end up saving money. I have only traveled here by car, but according to another review in Norwegian and friends, there are busses available from Oslo. Not sure of buss prices however you definitely need to plan ahead to make sure you catch the right bus home!

Wonderful museum; great staff, expansive collection of Edvard Munch…read more 4th floor is obviously a must-visit, as they rotate three versions of "Scream" every 30 minutes. I only had 1.5 hours before closing but because of this rotation, I was able to see all three versions! One floor is interactive and creative. You draw something on iPad and it finds a closest match from Munch's works. It was fun. Bonus is the view from the top floor. It overlooks the city and the Ferris wheel. You should get an Oslo Pass.

Each floor tells a story about a specific part of the artist's life and work, and the execution is flawless. Lots of good storytelling both in the walls descriptions and the art itself. The layout was truly excellent. The building takes you through a variety of presentations across the floors, whether the cavernous hall for the big pieces; the mockup of Munch's home; or the unique floor plan for the scream and the other concepts. It makes you feel like you've been through a whole journey by the end. Definitely worth the price of admission!

'Ello chaps!…read more Batservice Sightseeing (Boat Service Sightseeing) is located in the heart of downtown Oslo (near Akershus Fortress). They offer a variety of "fjord" sightseeing tours. I say "fjord" because the region is within a "fjord" but the fjords one would imagine being in Norway are found elsewhere, such as near Bergen. Despite this, it's a great two hour tour, and costs about $40 USD. It's money well spent. You get great views of Oslo from the water, getting to see the water shore attractions such as the Oslo Opera House, but also the near by islands and summer homes. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase on board. You can pre-purchase tickets online or in person --- or on the spot, although some tours may fill up. Seating is on an open deck and available first come first serve, so be early for a good spot. They suggest one half hour prior to departure time. Overall I give Batservice Sightseeing 5 stars out of 5.

After a couple emails back and forth I think we solved the problem. Once we arrived to the terminal it was easy to check in with the gate agent and then get onto the boat. Our bags were not search before getting on board and we were able to get on the boat a little early. Once on the boat there was a couple of dining options. We ate at the Italian restaurant first and little to no complains. For dinner we did the steak house and honestly it was a let down. Fairly expensive and mediocre food, I would not recommend it. I think next time we would do the buffet or the Italian restaurant again. The room was small, and slightly different than the photos but it did the job. For a quick trip we couldn't ask for much more. I think I enjoyed breakfast the most- highly recommend! If you are going to book you might as well book a nice room because it includes the breakfast. We paid about $160 for two people in a large room which felt like a good deal. There are a ton of cheaper options on the boat if you are looking for a cheaper option.

The station is clean, well signposted and easy to navigate, even for first time visitors. Platforms are spacious and trains run frequently throughout the day. I particularly appreciated the straightforward connection to Oslo city centre, which makes travelling much easier. The entire area feels safe, efficient and well maintained. The ticket price from the city to the airport for two adults and one child was 320 NOK.

Only thing to note is that the trains are on the outside of the main central station on the back side. Very nice receptionist apologizing when the cleaning lady did not re-supply us with new towels. Cardinal sin to do that but alright. Went to Kiel for a few hours, got straight back into the ship using what I believe is a new ticket system. Worked like a charm. Here's the shocker; no wi-fi unless you pay an abysmal amount of money for it. Seriously shocking that a cruise-line can do this in 2015 and still think they can get away with it. People got their business to attend to, if not just for the odd Facebook post. I like to have the choice to go online. A big no-no for the charge. I'd go again anyway.

We had estimated that we would arrive around 11 am if we took another stop. This we estimated just before Hamburg. We arrived at 13.12 and drove 180 km per hours for the last part, we had to be on the right side lane because we kept being overtaken.The boat was not full at all and we think lots of people missed it. We had dinner at 20.00 because all other slots were full when we booked, but the restaurant seemed half empty, It would be nice of Color line to warn people for these extreme roadworks on the last 100 km to Kiel.

It was a bit chilly when we visited in late May, however, with the brisk walking and a warm jacket we kept ourselves warm and comfortable. The water pressure is excellent and all the storage to hang and fold clothes. The do need better hairdryers as they're old and not very powerful. The hotel is just so beautiful with an awesome rooftop and lobby bar (both have the same menu). We paid extra for the breakfast, and it was pretty solid- meats and cheeses, eggs, bacon, sausage, lox, fruit, yogurt, cereal, pastries- you name it! Overall a wonderful hotel in a perfect location! We would definitely come back!
