My first time to try this track recently and have to give it 5 stars outta 5. Great open layout that lets you grip n rip it pretty much every hole. Fair amount of water to balance the openness. Was very busy the day I played. In fact an 8-some was in the group two groups in front of us. I've never seen that before but believe it or not, it still moved along. Unfortunately it had rained recently and the course was cart path-only. It literally took our 4-some over 6 hours to play. Still had a blast. The cart girl is the only upside of this course. She does a great job. I was very excited to play this course and have a great time on my bachelor trip - seeing friends that live in 3 different states for the first time in forever. When pace of play is not an issue in your group there should be no issue with your group size. Very disappointed in the power hungry course Marshalls enforcing useless rules just to ruin a great time. Threatening to kick out players that paid money and brought business to a public course when there is no real cause is unacceptable behavior. These wannabe authority figures have no purpose in their lives other than to ruin a great time and a great game. I would not recommend this course only due to these men. I hope they lighten up and realize they can do better. read more

The golf was very good. The wind was pretty crazy but that's what you get playing in southern Texas. My only complaint was I got chicken tenders at the turn and 3/4 were completely raw in the middle. I don't mean a little pink I mean fully raw. They were nice and dropped by a few more extra done this time. My favorite part was the $3 shooters from the cart girl. That's very cheap compared too places I usually play at. read more

Worst marshals I've ever played with. Do not go here if you want to have a good relaxing time or go with a group. Mediocre corse with the worst Marshalls I've ever seen in 39 years of golf. Go anywhere but here. The cart girl was absolutely amazing and the only saving grace. read more

Very nice and well maintained Golf Course! I want to thank Dwayne Rhodes and the entire team at Oso Beach for their professionalism . Just wanted to share an experience and this is not the first time this has happened, I'm forever leaving things behind but I left something in my golf cart. It was a Yeti 26oz Tumbler and I was very pleased to find out that the staff turned it in . I've even left my range finder before and it was turned in , Well played my friends ! Staff was very friendly. Course wasn't in great condition. I just played it in February so it's not expected to be fantastic, but the grass was minimal. Greens were fine. No driving range was a bummer. Price was fine. I had a $34 senior rate for 18 w/cart. I was a single. The starter was able to fit me in right away with some great guys from Canada. Any day on the golf course is better than being in the office. read more

Positives: greens are well kept and nice, wide open if you hit some monster slices Negatives: fairway grass is as tall as my backyard- and I really need to mow, spots on the course are straight marsh right in the middle of certain holes, rental clubs are worse than a starter kit for children Do not come to this course without 100+ vaccinations, 72 bottles of bug spray, a heavy duty mosquito net to cover you, your cart, and your clubs. We made the mistake of not doing that and it was the most miserable golf experience of our lives. read more

Was taking my 14 year old son to try golf for the first time here and was pretty disappointed with the experience. I have a set of clubs perfect for the both of us cause we are the same height. However it's not on the website that I have found nore was it mentioned in the clubhouse but each person has to have their own set of clubs. So even if you do not know if your kiddo is going to like golf you either have to buy an extra set of clubs or rent their over priced clubs. Never were we all over the fairway and most the time played best ball since he was learning. Probably would have never been a problem if we didn't have one of their big wigs playing behind us. read more

Played for the first time at Oso Beach. The course itself is not very difficult. A par 70 in pretty decent condition -- especially for the hot summer. The neighborhood it is in is not anything to write home about. There are some ratty houses and chain link fences. However, every member of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Have you ever played a course where you can't even get your tee in the ground because it is so dry? Oso was the opposite. I've only played on one or two other courses where your tee goes into the tee box like butter, and certainly didn't expect that from a city run course. Overall a good golfing experience at a fair price. read more

I have golfed at this course 3 times and had a great time. Went to make a reservation this last time and they were pretty rude. I'm sure it's not the norm. But I was pretty disappointed in the service so they lost a star. read more

I played this course nearly every weekend with friends and family. They certainly keep up with the greens. The course is fun, prefect for beginners. I only wish they had a course Marshall. But I know they can't prevent golf etiquette. read more

I was pretty impressed with Oso Beach Golf Course. The staff was extra friendly, and the course was in good shape. The greens played a little slow in the front and sped up in the back. Overall, I had a good experience and will defiantly return. read more
