Their many apartments - in different parts of the city - are carefully furnished and extremely well taken care of. The management and maintenance staff are amazing, professional, and really care. The facilities (pool, club house, state of the art fitness center, computer center, movie room) are well kept. Built for the replacement people hired to do domestic labor while educated workers were in defense plants and shipyards. Built in 1942 when resources were scarce, these buildings are cheaply constructed with little or no insulation. Thus the poor condition after 80 years. Water damage from bygone years was seen everywhere. The hardwood floors being stained and warped with rotted spots near the walls. Aftermarket freestanding gas heaters awkwardly fit in living room areas. Being strangely out of place with its dangling power cord running along the floor to the nearest power outlet. Poor patch jobs done on walls and ceilings in every room. Gave it the feeling of down and dirty quick fix, barely held together until the next storm rolls by. All in all, this place is just another over priced slum in the making. Having the last vestiges of possible investment capital squeezed out of it. Before it is mowed down and new high rises erected for the capitalist investors.

That's a new one. The noise level is unbearable, the stairwell reeks and the trash can outside is constantly overflowing with garbage. Not only will you hear every noise from all of your neighbors (including the sound of slippers across the floor) you will physically feel the vibrations of movement. Don't count on getting your security deposit back because of their holding policy. It became a running joke how many extra unnecessary superficial fees are tacked on to the rent payments. Management has truly drank the Kool-Aid. Also be prepared for your nose to be assaulted by the ungodly smells that emanate every time you walk through the building. If I could go back in time and slap myself out of renting an apartment at this place, I'd gladly put myself in a slap competition. Congress Square Park has received a few decent…read morereviews being that it is home to the Union Station Clock as well as lovely out door area with a ton of seating and free WiFi, free entertainment, etc.. But the square is a LOT more than just the park. There is the Children's Museum, The Museum of Maine, Congress Square Gallery, First Friday events, The Art Walks, The Pride Parade, Political Rallies, where the fantastic wheel chair riding street politician/comedian sits with his Trump Sucks Sign and waves to traffic.. There are also the small niceties, Starbucks, Congress Square Restaurant, two amazing hair salons, a tattoo shop or three, Otto pizza, Wild Burritos, Flea For All, the Westin, and of course the State Theater. I live in Congress Square, the park is magical during the winter covered in snow and beautiful holiday lights, and an amazing place to read or drink coffee alone or with friends, or catch an outdoor movie on Sunday evening. We even have a taxi stand.. A rarity in a smaller city.

They paid a $500 deposit towards the place, and they refused to return it to her even though it was beyond their control that her friend couldn't get his benefits letter from social security. I'm currently speaking with a lawyer as I've asked nicely and sternly a few times now and they're completely ignoring me. My mother has early onset dementia, these people should be ashamed, absolutely horrendous and predatory.
