My kids love visiting all the animals, the turtles, snakes and bearded dragon are the favorites! W elige that they have a pretty big variety of toys available to play with and the dress up options are always a hit! It's a great place to visit during the winter and rainy days! But also so fun when the weather is great and you can walk around the trails. The only downside is the limited parking, but if weather is good the parking by the playground makes it a fun all morning adventure!

This such an incredible gem for families and nature lovers a like!…read more 1) Trails are easy to navigate and you will almost always see some type of wildlife whether it is butterflies, bugs, or deer. 2) The recently renovated playground is large and accessible for both small and big kids. There is a covered shelter nearby which makes it the perfect spot for a birthday party. 3) The nature center is a great place to explore on cold or rainy days. You can see turtles, a bearded dragon, play with toys in a little nature nook that looks like it came straight out of the Berenstein Bears, or climb up and down their little play structure. The people who work here are extremely friendly and the price for all of this is Free 99. 4) They host field trips and birthday parties that are fun and informative for kids and adults alike. My three year old STILL talks about the frog who peed on the floor last year at her class presentation. We are so lucky to have a gem like this in our area.

Audrey Moore Rec Center is a Fairfax County facility and it is an older facility but they have…read moreeverything you could ever think of. Outside, there is baseball & softball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields (turf) a skate park, & several walking or biking trails. Inside, they have a full-size swimming pool & diving well with both spring boards and platforms, there are racquetball courts, a gym, and studios for all kinds of classes like yoga, as well as a physical therapy office through INOVA. I have been here many times for my son's soccer & swim team practice as well as just coming to play and have fun. Personally, I have been here for yoga classes as well as PT including aquatic PT. You can purchase a class pass or pay a one day fee or you sign up for a wide variety of classes offered year round. On Wednesdays they have a local farmers market out in the parking lot. They also have county recycling bins, which I have used recently for glass. Note: as expected there's a heavy chlorine smell in the pool area so if you're sensitive before warned.

This is a filthy facility and it has been reported to the Fairfax County Health Department. 3rd…read moreworld conditions abound such as poop in the shower, theft issues (as mentioned before) AND 7-year old boys in the women's locker room. Sound fun? Yeah, me neither. Rather than use a toilet, some patrons apparently just use the shower. Rather than wait for a family change room, some patrons bring their school age boys into a private space that is meant for women and little girls. To top it off, management will blame the messenger if you complain, adding insult to injury. Highly dysfunctional and poorly managed.

Why is there not a zero stars option? I would rate this place zero stars. The name of this place…read morehas changed a number of times, but no improvements have been made. This place is extremely outdated and dirty. It's just disgusting. You walk in to find the carpeting of the steps extremely worn down and peeling off at the sides, as it is everywhere else in the building. You walk in to see a big window overseeing the room of inflatables. This facility hosts parties and sports events. We were there for a birthday party and the party rooms are downstairs. To get to the party rooms, you walk down the stairs to a filthy hallway with disgusting turf carpeting and muggy air. I'm sure this facility has a long list of health violations. List of cons: - The restrooms are located inside of grungy looking locker rooms, so you pose the risk of having your child seeing people changing - There is no supervision in the inflatables room. Parents are responsible for their own kids - There is no system to ensure that kids leave with their parents. Anyone can walk out with your kids - My kid wandered into the sporting facility area of the lower level and fell into a rain puddle that resulted from a leaky ceiling - There are random puddles in the inflatables room from leaky ceilings (read: MOLD!) - The air in the lower level can be quite muggy during warmer months of the year (read: MOLD!) - There were buckets catching the leaking water from the ceiling at various places of the facility (I saw them on two separate visits) - Outdoor parking can be limited, depending on what other events are being held there on the same day List of pros: - No time limitation (but why would you want to stay here?) - I assume that it's cheaper here - Outside food is permitted for parties hosted here Although I hate this place, kids don't seem bothered by the filthiness of this place and seem to have a lot of fun.

Pros: Kids love it and its a lot of fun for them…read more Cons: This is more for the parents who care about these details. Building super outdated. There is ZERO staff supervision. (I've asked the "manager" and I get the same answer each time that other staff are helping host birthday parties) There are children who run up the slides and bounce/jump from one inflatable to the next over toppling other children. There are no rules its all free game. Reason why I come back to this place is because of the price, open play all the time and my child has fun. We're in there 1 hour max. I go over safety with my child and I watch her follow them. (We've gone to pump it up many times and so those are the "rules" we go by) The way I view this place is as if I was taking my child to a public playground where other parents are responsible for their own children which we ALL know how that can be. If your pondering about going I would give it a chance and see for yourself. I personally wouldn't take a child 0-3 maybe even 4. One last thing the staff at the front desk are "high school-ish" but my first time encounter one gal was very helpful and then the other times it's in between.

Free coffee during this time for parents. The only thing I didn't like is the arcade. Several of the games weren't working and I feel like it would be better if it was separate like in a separate room because it's easy for the young kids to get distracted by the arcade. Review of water park only:…read more Don't buy for the whole family. We made the mistake of buying for a family of 4, but only small kids would enjoy this. Could have saved half the cost by just buying for 2 kids. You definitely don't need more than an hour either. It's really loud, so it's not great for autistic or sensory sensitive kids. My kids don't enjoy water directly in their face, and there's nowhere to go that doesn't have water landing directly in your face. There's nowhere for adults to sit, and it's a small room so there's residual splashing everywhere; wear pool shoes even if you don't go on the play structure and are just supervising the kids. During the 5-minute breaks once per hour, it would be nice if you could use the adjacent pool I but it was occupied with aquatic sports teams. Staff were very friendly, and the overall sports/rec facility looks huge and very clean. Locker rooms were very clean as well. For our family, however, it just wasn't worth the price paid nor was it the type of water park that would work for older kids or autistic kids.

Great location, and a solid park overall…read more I was hanging around in Falls Church today. This park caught my eye, and I said why not, let's check it out. Word of warning. Narrow turn into the road that leads to the lot for the park. When using Google Maps it seems to direct you a bit further in the main road. Ignore that; make a left when your gut tells you it feels right to. I came around 5 in the evening and the sun was to set soon. So I parked real fast in the semi-vacant lot, skimmed over the play area at front and made a beeline to the nature trail entrance toward the left side. Suffice it to say, never a dull day. Not disappointed to say the least. Walk was long and varied. My first time at this park so I just let my shoes do the walking. Went up the grassy knoll straight ahead, but further in to the side trail on left it gets too muddy. I didn't bring my hiking boots, so I said phooey to that, and surrendered that notion without further ado. Long winding roads down a passing nature trail. I remember crossing a small bridge, and that led into a view of stepping platforms overlooking a river or trial. I hopped on those circular blocks and made it over to the other side with ease. Grand tour of the place and then led into a quaint residential neighborhood. Whilst it was nice, the day was winding down so I had to wave adieu. Back again and a brisk re-hop of the circular land pieces, made sure not to trip or fall into water. Crossed the bridge back. Saw some folks on the way and they were just chilling and passing by. I walked into new and divergent paths that branched out and broke off to new frontiers. I would've loved to follow that trail of cheese down a ways, but alas had to head back. I got lost briefly and that owes to my being green and newcomer and going down too many paths; it's like getting spun around and then asked to point the way. I had Google directions on, so I found my way to the lot eventually after all. Not sure if I caught the sunset, but if not maybe next time. I was just rushed as I had to be somewhere before 6. So I couldn't even stay the hour. But overall, great park and trails. Nothing earth shattering mind you, but a solid and worthwhile nature retreat if ever there was one. I'll definitely swing by at least once again, it seems a good spot as any to bring a dog or pet on the walk!

It's not far from DC in Fairfax County. This park has become fairly popular, due to sports fields. Parking is a real issue. Weekdays are when it's most relaxing. It's amazing how you can feel away from the nearby beltway. The playground is fairly basic, but little ones will appreciate it. There's also a baseball field and basketball hoops. This offers a little bit of everything for all. It's a clean place to go and chill a bit.
