From the small back deck you can look over this town all the way to the high cliffs that drop into the ocean, creating picturesque views of the orange, red and pink sunset. We arrived to a small sign personally welcoming us. Niall and Darra treated us like family while we stayed at their house and even dined at their table. They were personally acquainted with the entire area and gave us honest recommendations for spending our days there. We were able to see the Cliffs without crowds because of their directions. We then had the perfect dinner of local food at Roadford House where we walked along stonewalls past cows, horses, and sheep to the intimate dining room overlooking pastures. We ended the night by enjoying local music at O'Connor's Pub just a minute walk from the Sea View. We would highly recommend staying at the Sea View for at least a few nights on your trip to Ireland. Thanks again Darra and Niall, Ryan and Cristina

The rooms (we stayed in more than one), the food, the hospitality and the views were all just perfect. If we could give them more stars, we would. We are looking into flights to go back and I had to look up this amazing B&B because we will absolutely be making a reservation on our upcoming trip! We were so engrossed and enamored in our first experience in Ireland, and neither of us did reviews, but I feel like I need to say WE ADORE SEA VIEW HOUSE!! We are very much looking forward to another visit!!

Once back at the hotel and in our room, we couldn't get over how amazing the room (clean, cozy, modern) was, along with the spectacular view of the water. Dinner was delicious! Highly recommend the sea chowder - my wife and I shared as a starter but quickly wished we each had our own! Breakfast was just as delicious. Overall, phenomenal hotel and staff! Cannot wait to come back!

There are 20+ rooms and some have balconies. Most rates come with breakfast which they serve continental early 7am-9am, and full Irish breakfast begins later at 9AM. The hotel restaurant and bar on premise are quite good. It's a short/easy 5 min walk from the hotel to the center of town. They contract with local tour guides to pick you up if you wish to take an island tour. The front desk is pretty strict about check-in and didn't let us check in before 3PM even though we were on the 10:30AM ferry that got in around 11:30AM, but they do let you store your luggage behind the front desk. P.S. They tend to have a lot of weddings at this hotel as there are banquet tents, so be prepared for potential parties (bachelor or bachelorette) on certain weekends.

Even with the Irish fog and rain, Doolin Views' light shines brightly. Sandra was a ray of sunshine in the midst of a rainy afternoon, providing shelter and sustenance to our travel weary group. I loved the layout of the rooms; each bearing the name of a famous Irish author. There were books by and pictures of the author and in the general housekeeping booklet, there was a brief history of them as well. I was upstairs in the W.B. Yates room. The large slanted windows allowed natural light to fill the room and show off the colours and design of the decor. The bed was spacious, and extremely comfortable, and the down comforter valiantly fought of the cold that was trying to creep into my bones. I also loved the bathroom area; quaint and modern at the same time. When we had rested and gotten the lay of the land from Sandra, we enjoyed some time playing chess and relaxing. It felt as though we were in a home away from home. This is the house that I would have built and decorated if I decided to live with some of my best friends in Ireland. In your room, you could pre-order what you wanted for breakfast in addition to the continental breakfast buffet that was available. You could list the time you wanted breakfast and the dish, and just show up downstairs in the morning. I ordered the melted cheese and toast, eggs and bacon. We were greeted in the morning with hot tea or coffee, while looking across the grasses all the way out to the waves crashing on the cliffs. On slightly warmer, less windy and rainy days, I think having breakfast outside would be quite the treat. I loved every minute of being at Doolin Views and was extremely gracious for Sandra's hospitality. My only regret was that we were only able to stay for one night, especially as the price was quite reasonable. It feels like the type of place where you could relax and fully recharge the batteries of your soul and make you ready to face the world. If your travels take you to Doolin, you would be well advised to spend some nights at Doolin Views.

They provide a water craft that you can fill up at water stations around the hotel which is so convenient. It seems that normal rooms do not have fridges, FYI. A family member got a suite for apparently only $60 more, which seemed totally worth it if you'd like a fridge, larger bathroom, better view, and a couch. The breakfast was average - typical hotel buffet. Gym was impressive for a hotel and I enjoyed my workout. They also have a really nice indoor pool and outdoor hot tubs that sit on the deck that overlook the river. We drank and ate dinner at the hotel bar. This had been our favorite meal to that point in our trip. Highly recommend the After 8pm Cheesecake for dessert.

The breakfast offerings were significant (regular Full Irish Breakfast type of fare plus cereals, yogurts, pancakes, Eggs Benedict, smoked salmon/lox, fresh fruit, multiple juices, teas, and coffees) and all very good. We had both a regular dinner in the Dylan Thomas and the 3-course prix fix -- both didn't disappoint -- and neither did the live musician and dancing. All in all, a stellar stay that I look forward to repeating.

Our suite, #36 was so quiet and beautiful it was a treat returning to it after exploring the wild Atlantic way. The two easy chairs with views quickly became our his/hers perches for reflection. Our superior king suite itself was very large with a four poster bed and ample room to spread out and settle in while the generous bathroom with its tub, shower, two sinks and make up desk added to our comfort. My daughters also found a gorgeous route for their morning run. There is a spacious parking lot, which was not the case at most of the other hotels. Our room was light and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the water in the shower was unpredictable and it was usually cold with a blast of scalding hot water every now and then; however, this did seem to be a trend at most European hotels. When we checked in the kind lady at the reception desk spent time telling us about the hotel, things to see and do in the area, and showed us to our room. The breakfast room was comfortable and the food was good and filling. The service was very, very slow. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend my friends to stay as well.

When you enter the main door, first impressions are that you've let yourself in for a 3 star rating or even less stay at this hotel. But don't be fooled by the need for a good upgrade, a lick of paint or even leveling some sloping floors! - it all adds to the charm of Hyland's and would probably be an entirely different place if it was modernised. The staff, while lacking in some managerial direction in times, were, on the whole really friendly and helpful and went out of their way to be as attentive as possible even during the peak busy times. Breakfast was amazing with a huge choice and absolutely tons of food - but certainly needed before heading off for a long days walk on the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and surrounding areas. Absolutely delicious freshly made brown bread - almost hot from the oven - all hot courses at breakfast were ordered and served by the waiting staff, while fresh fruit and cereals were on the self-service table. We had a truly excellent dinner on our first night, with a huge choice for each course and again large portions, but very nicely presented. Parking is available at a very narrow entrance just as you pass the front of the hotel on the left. WiFi is only available downstairs in the mainly lobby or bar area which is a bit of a nuisance. I would highly recommend this wonderful homely hotel which is right in the heart of the gorgeous village of Ballyvaughan - with lots of other nice pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and Cafes on its doorstep, not to mind the wonderful location as a hub for walking as I've already outlined above.
