I'm not too sure why 7-Eleven never…read morebranched out into Adelaide, but K-Food seems to be an appropriate response to Adelaide's 24 hour convenience needs. It seems like every few months more and more of these stores are popping up in new locations (albeit sometimes in very close proximity) - and I'm glad to see that business is thriving. What can be said about K-Food? They have everything you'd expect from a 24 hour convenience store, namely plenty of junk food, sodas, cigarettes, and personal necessities like pain-killers - a lot of things you shouldn't be having late at night! But the fact that they're there saves you from waiting until morning to get your late night fix, and that's a reality I'm pretty happy with. The thing I like particularly about this location is that the staff is always good to talk to - especially when the streets quiet down and the majority of the weekend warriors have called it a night. Not too long ago I came into K-Food late one night after playing a gig, and the store clerk and I spoke for almost 30 minutes about the Misfits and the evolution of punk music, as well as exchanging our band contacts. I've also had great conversations with a lot of the other store clerks here too, and it seems like the personnel at this shop is all-round good people. It's tough working the graveyard shift, especially with all the drunken hooligans making things even more difficult. So if you're feeling nice, go in and have a chat and make they're night a little more entertaining!

Lucky 7 is one of those overpriced convenient stores where you pay more for things because they're,…read morewell, convenient. Being right next door to where I live Lucky 7 is extra convenient. It's got your usual stuff like drinks, chips, mi goreng noodles, as well as the things you discover you need at the last minute like washing powder, stationery, and birthday candles. The main downside is the fact that they don't sell metro tickets, but they will change my notes into smaller coins so I can pay to do my laundry. It's a family owned business, and the owners are always friendly, and that's the real reason that I like popping in here.

The last time I visited, the shop assistant was too busy out the back to notice I was even in there for the first 5 minutes (shoplifters delight). When he did emerge he proceeded to talk on his mobile phone LOUDLY discussing his personal business for the rest of my duration in the store, yep even while he served me. I was a bit disappointed by this one, usually they stock tonnes of vegan and vego specific brands you don't usually find in the shops but no fake-on or not dogs in sight. There were some great salads though that were pretty well priced when paying by the kilo between roughly $16-24, highly recommend the pumpkin and feta which saved our skins when we brought it as a last minute bbq present. So pretty stoked at that! Great hours and a god send for public holidays.

Very cool one stop servo to buy those last minute camping trip supplies that you've forgotten about only the previous day at the supermarket. It's also great for milk, bread.....and smokes (if you're into self inflicted bodily harm). Sorry but I don't: - buy petrol from here as I think they don't offer cheap prices and I don't want yet another discount card taking up room in the wallet. (Besides I'm happy my local Caltex and Woolworths connections (no matter how contrived). - Or Wok in a Box, personally I don't like the taste. As I've mentioned before 'each to their own'. But I do like: - Happy Wash :-) This is a valuable service which I think is not too expensive even for a four wheel drive. So what I do is make a booking the day before, get up early on a Sunday morning, be there by 9am, hand over the keys, have my Happy Wash rewards card stamped, get a free complimentary coffee, buy myself a healthy apricot bun for breakfast and The Age, sit myself down and wait happily whilst my car gets a complete make over. Note: At the end of the Happy Wash stamps you get a freebie. - Brumbies Bakery, nice and tasty and good coffee. - Subway make a good sandwish/roll and is a reasonably healthy option and a convenient quick lunch or dinner. The staff I have encountered have always been friendly and quick, some are not so happy but who is that early in the morning!

Founded in 1984 by Preregrine Corporation, it is truly a service coated with quality, and makes a model business plan for other businesses to follow. Boasting a large premise on site, patrons don't have to queue long before they get access to the pump. You can feel the energy in this servo, as men religiously wash their cars at Happy Wash, family gather to pick pastries and bread at C Cafe and Brumby's respectively, and school kids form a line for their glass of Chill. The 24 hour supermarket is top notch, for working mums who need a quick pit stop of groceries or for a quick dessert pick me up. Expect quality brands here with the likes of Subway, Wok in a Box and SmokeMart. Other services include an ATM and trailer hire. Like them on Facebook to get promo's on their products.

I had a bad experience at My Wash Malvern on Friday. I was waiting for the buzzer to go off for…read morethe car to be ready and eventually noticed my car wasn't on the forecourt any more. I enquired where it was and it had been finished off and parked on their back lot. The buzzer hadn't gone off. No-one tried to find me to let me know. I ended up wasting another 30mins for my car. The company should check their buzzers regularly to make sure they are working. They should have a process for finding owners if a car isn't collected when the job is finished. I wasn't offered any compensation and there wasn't any manager there who could deal with that. I will be trying a different car Wash in future.

I have broken with my non-wash pride recently to test out The Wash.....both because I just love to YELP and also because they are the major sponsor of my Bowling Club! Anywho, long story short, car washed, girlfriend happy, scott doesn't sleep on the couch.....everyones a winner! Who knows what The Wash could do for world peace?!
