Went to the strawberry festival for the first time, and me and my husband were pretty excited about picking berries. Upon walking in, I noticed that the everything was to be paid for separately, kids activities, berry picking. We arrived around 1 pm and the berry fields were still open but totally picked out. That was the only thing we came for other than to try the ice cream. Huge disappointment. Won't go back as it wasn't worth the drive/money, and to be honest to me it seems like a huge cash grab. read more

We attended ottawa farms for the Strawberry festival this week. Although our strawberry pickin's were finite (we picked berries around 3 and the field was very busy and picked through), we had a great time at the farm. We did the hay ride through the cow field and saw so many calf's - we had a lot of fun doing this. Grounds were very muddy in the festival, but they kept the rides ad clean as they could. We saw goats and horses and pigs too- all the animals had plenty of food and water. We liked the farm shop and the homemade strawberry ice cream. The singing chicken man had us laughing all afternoon too! We had a nice time but I would start WAY earlier next year. read more

My family went to the strawberry festival and it was a debacle. We paid for admission online. Upon entry we found out that every attraction costed tickets (this not on the website). The front gate's card machine was down so it was cash only. But (per an employee who identified as the office manager) the owner neglected to fill their ATM machine that morning. So if you didn't carry cash the only option for getting tickets was the general store if their credit card machine wasn't broken. I asked the office manager if the machine was broken and she didn't know. The line at the general store was literally out the door and in the strawberry field itself. So rather than roll the dice and get in line only to be told no, we left. Upon leaving another employee asked if we picked any strawberries... because they couldn't just look up and see the lack of bags.​ read more

Due to Covid-19 outbreaks, it is really stressful for us to go out and get some fresh air. Today I took kids to have some fun in Ottawa Strawberry farm. A big sunny day, nice breeze and fresh strawberries. We enjoyed our Saturday morning in a such nice place. My kids had a chance to spend some energy running around the farm and watched animals. Here is really nothing to complain, I am thankful the farm makes sure everyone washes hands with soap before getting in to the farm to pick up strawberries and washes hands before leaving the place. Also have a warning sign that every party keeps 10 feet away from each other for social distance. I feel safe to let kids and myself have fun in the farm.. furthermore, the strawberries are big and sweet. Thanks Ottawa Farm! We will be back again soon. read more

We attended the annual strawberry festival. It is a 2 day festival, and we went early on the second day. The entry fee is $10 a person. The strawberry fields had already been picked clean. The homemade strawberry ice cream was sold out. Everything inside cost more money. We spent nearly $50 to pet a goat. As we left, we got a candied apple for our son. It promptly fell off the stick into the dirt because the apple was rotten to the core. A fitting end to our experience. read more

Spent a pleasant afternoon at Ottawa Farms sponsored by KW Realty. I would give KW and our realtor, Nancy Stanley 5***** for their effort. Families had plenty to do with a catered lunch, corn hole, visiting goats, hand pump races, throwing a lasso, playground equipment and a giant slide. The general store had a few items for sale and a good selection of homemade jams. We did not participate in the berry picking but there must have been 20-30 people out in the berry field. The place was quiet and clean except for the port- a-potty. Someone needs to clean hourly to keep them sanitized. A clean portapotty and I would have given them 4**** easily. My family and I came to do the u pick strawberries and when we arrived we were greeted warmly. We were shown a guide (mostly for my 5 year old) on which strawberries to pick and which ones to leave(the baby green strawberries). There is a huge field with plants to choose from. It wasn't crowded at all. The fruit was huge and beautiful. They have some Billy goats, a pipe swing, and lasso to play with as well. We really enjoyed our visit and plan on going back quite a bit in the future. I do wish they had an indoor bathroom, I can't imagine how unpleasant the portapotties get in the summer heat. This place was a huge disappointment. Was looking for some good Fall activities, and came across this place. Came here because it was the closet drive and open on Sunday. This place may be okay if you have small children. They charge $8 for an adult to get in for a corn maze, inflatable slide, and hay ride of some sort. I think they charge as much as $5/child. Thank goodness they didn't charge to go shop at their General Store which was also a disapointment. We bought some frozen filet mignon at $15.00/lb. The steaks were extremely thin (maybe 1/2-3/4 inch thick). They were extremely fatty. I think I'll stick with buying from Kroger. Not sure if anything else they sell that is packaged is even made there or from anything there. All their labels say Dist by Ottawa. Their fresh produce and honey is probably from there. Bought one of their wrapped apple fritters on Sunday, and went to eat it on Wednesday and it was already moldy. They also sell hot food from their store, concession stand-like food, hot dogs, chips, etc. The store was a mess in some corners. Not sure what their health code rating is, but I don't think I would eat there. The lady who seemed to be in charge was pretty condescending to the lady who was ringing us up. To exit the parking area, you must drive a big portion around the perimeter of land. They make you cross an old rickety wooden bridge in one area. It didn't look to be in the best shape. Wasn't sure it was going to hold up driving over it. Maybe my expectations were too high after visiting some great farms, orchards, and real pumpkin patches in the Midwest, but my first Southern farm experience sucked at Ottawa. 2 stars for poor service! Went inside to the general store and the asked if they took card and the employee very rudely told us no and to use the ATM. We did and we got a s'more kit. There was a wooden stick that looked like it came from a hobby store on the counter and as we were walking out she said "aren't you going to take your s'more stick?!" (Didn't realize it was a stick for the fire). My point is that they could put a sign near the register that says "cash only" and not speak to their customers like they're idiots. The corn maze was pretty decent though. Seemed like some of the numerical signs inside were missing. THIS PLACE DOESN'T TAKE CREDIT CARDS! But there is an ATM. read more

Oh my where should I start? First off my review is for the strawberry festival. if anything else they do there is ran the same way as this event then avoid this place at all costs. first off, they charge you $5 a head admission - and that $5 gets you absolutely nothing. everything else inside this event costs more money. wait - even worse it costs "tickets!" meaning you can't even spend your own money you have to buy ticket booth from some random stand inside there. All the vendors looked to be ran by low life individuals. The food booths looked very dirty and no one was eating there which was enough of a sign to me to know to not even think about it. And, unless you want to spend $18 on a rack of ribs forget even considering it. We wanted to go and try the homemade strawberry ice cream. Walked up and asked for a scoop and they wouldn't give it to us because they only took - you guessed it - tickets! The feed station for the animals was not even animals that the family farm owned. They were abused animals that apparently are ran from some vendor that goes from fairground to fairground and starves these poor animals so they can charge an absorbent amount of money yes $8 for a dixie cup of food and then an additional $1 PER PERSON just to go into the place. There were fees (ticket based) for everything including the very unsafe looking slides, corn crib whatever the hell that is, a poorly maintained train, and that sort of thing. The guy (low life type described above and no relation to the family farm) giving camel rides had toddlers up on the camel and was playing on his phone the entire time he was walking the came around in a circle. Real safe for your toddlers folks! I can't believe (no wait I can) that this family lets this event happen in this way. Apparently money means more to them then their reputation and the quality of the event. We stayed for 20 minutes and realized what a nickel and dime - money grubbing - disgusting event this was and then left. Oh yeah - and they call it a strawberry festival right? But, nothing in the event had anything to do with strawberries! It was just gross food, annoying vendors trying to peddle chinese-made knives and other junk, and sickly looking animals that you have to pay extra to feed. Won't be back EVER again. I was most upset about my two girls who had talked about picking strawberries all week long. Well let me tell you I took a look in the fields and there were no strawberries to be seen that were even close to be ready for picking. Wow I could go on and on about how disgusted I was with this place. But, I just want to finish with one statement Anyone thinking about going to this place - don't make the same mistake we did. read more

What a DISAPPOINTMENT ! We got to the place about 7 pm for a 7:30 start to the rodeo. There was a huge lineup. We had to walk about 1/4 mile over sometimes uneven ground to the venue. This was difficult for my wife, who has bad knees. When we got to the grandstand area ( A BIG JOKE), we found it completely full. There was no place to sit anywhere. I thought about going back to get lawn chairs from our car, but there wasn't much point because you couldn't see anything standing up anywhere around the bleachers. After about 1/2 hour of trying to secure a minimal view, we gave up, and headed back to our car. When we explained the situation at the entrance gate , we were answered with a sarcastic "that's too bad" Yes, it's too bad you can rip off people for $30, and not even care! We learned our lesson, and won't be returning to Ottawa Farms for future events !!! read more

We come to Ottawa farm because it pretty close to the house. We try to support them. The spring is great for the strawberry picking but the festival they have it busy and unorganized. Then we go to the fall for the corn maze, it goes up every year. I don't mind that but the don't add anything new. It the same thing. One moonbonce,a slide,train for kids and of course a hayride to the maze. My kids are 10 and 12. This yeAr. I didn't like there where people in the maze throwing corn at you. We've recently moved to the Savannah area and have been looking for a farm just like this! Took our 2 year old daughter here today to go blueberry picking. The farm was great and the woman in the general store was very nice. Lots of blueberries on the bushes and they were very cheap. I've seen people post complaints about them not accepting credit cards....obviously those people have never visited tourist farms before. Nearly all of them are cash only. And from what we could tell, there were plenty of activities to keep younger children busy during a Fall or Spring festival, but I would never bring a child over the age of 10 or so and expect them to have a very good time. We can't wait to go back this Fall to experience the corn maze (the general store keeper told us this year it would be a picture of Trump! ), and all of the other activities with our little one. we have been here before for Halloween and it was a little underwhelming but my kids were 4 and it was fine for them. we came today 4/11/2016 for their strawberry festival and it was packed! it looked huge, with a helicopter taking off and landing over and over again. A huge slide they built and all sorts of vendors. we were pleasantly surprised and excited. we paid 5 dollars a piece for my wife and myself and so (4 year old was free). we got in and realized EVERYTHING ELSE COST MOVE TOO!. Talk about gauging people of their money! All the rides needed tickets. each one was about e tickets per person. The tickets were a dollar a piece! Every vendors who sold food was an independent vendor and every hamburger, sandwhich, pull porker etc was an average of 8 to 9 dollars! So, my 2 kids got to go down their home built tube slide, a rotating tea cup ride and in a bounce house. total cost!!! 15 dollars to get in, 4 dollars to have them both go down the slide, 6 dollars for them to ride the little spinning tea cups, and 4 dollars for my be 8 minutes in a bounce house. we were there less than an hour and spent 30 bucks! All the other rides were 2 to 3 bucks per person too! For 30 bucks we could have gone and had more fun at the trampoline park or monkey Joes! Plus we had to wait in line for this crap! Charge a higher price to get in and have the rides for free or don't charge an entrance fee. THEIR WEBSITE doesn't inform anyone about any of this! PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A FARM FAIR! read more
