They layout of the campus is beautiful. It is a 96 acre 5 building facility that looks much more like a junior college than a high school. It has duck ponds with fountains and walkways throughout the campus. At the time, I had never seen a high school quite like that. Today, there are some others with similar designs, but mostly it is still cutting edge for high school layouts. Most recently I was here for a fund raiser holiday bazaar they hold every year. The hardest part of being an educator is to teach a lesson in 55 mins to a group of 25-30 students, review their homework, monitor each student's individual progress, spend some quality time working with each of them to make sure they understand the material, come up with different strategies to reteach, monitor instruction to meet each student's individual need (i.e. special education, 504, OHI, ESL, etc.) and have time to get students prepared for their State of Texas Annual STAAR Assessments and/or EOCs (End of Course) Exams. What I love about teaching here, is that I have the freedom to teach. I can go back and reteach or come up with another assessment. I can get to know my students with no more than 8 students per class. We typically do not assign homework, so I am working side by side with students while they do the work. I don't have to worry about the State Assessments because they do not apply to the Einstein School. Last school year (2013-2014) in their 3rd year of operation, 18 Seniors Graduated and ALL 18 WERE ACCEPTED INTO COLLEGE. This school year (2015-2016) is our 5th year in operation and we are now around 100 students and growing. About 5 new students start this week (Jan 5-8). One of our Seniors this school year was accepted into Auburn University last month! If you have a child that just feels like they "don't fit in" or are "lost in the crowd of 30 students in a class" or "feel like their teachers don't help them or care", then visit our school. You can even attend classes for a day or so and just try it out without any pressure. If I was ever going to design my own school, it would be something like the Einstein School. I have a complaint about a teacher named Ann Loeffler. She…read moreonce called a Black girl ugly after the girl expressed that she felt uncomfortable with a male teacher commenting on how "beautiful" she was. I don't care if someone tries to frame that as a compliment -- he had no business saying that to an underage student. Instead of listening to the student's discomfort, this teacher seemed intent on putting her down, which is disturbing and inappropriate behavior from a grown adult. She also warned the girl to "be careful what you say," implying the male teacher could get in trouble. That response felt more focused on protecting him than respecting a student's boundaries. I also had negative experiences with her personally. She once berated me in class for refusing to participate in games she was running that had nothing to do with the Spanish course material. The reaction felt unnecessarily harsh and condescending. Moments like that show a lot about a person's character -- especially how they respond when a student simply says no. I also noticed that she was often particularly rude and dismissive toward Black female students. Overall, she came across as extremely condescending and at times racially insensitive. The dynamic often felt like she enjoyed having authority over students rather than genuinely supporting them. That kind of environment makes it hard to feel respected or safe in a classroom. For these reasons, she stands out as one of the worst teachers I've personally had.

it's funny how they call it a "catholic school" when their morals stray far from that. starting…read moreoff, the students. elementary school was okay, in my opinion. the yearly field trips were exciting, and engaging. the curriculum was enriching, and the faculty were great. I enjoyed it, and felt welcomed. In the next few years were vastly different, however. in middle schools he kids dont have a filter. they'll start to insult you more. and more. going from small things to your deep insecurities. then they'll say a dumb insult, then they'll pull those secrets out in front of everyone and ridicule you for doing things like that. Then others would jump on that bandwagon and insult you for it, so it doesn't happen to them. it's like psychological bullying, but they're inherently doing it to themselves. i graduated eventually, as we all do, and it felt like taking a breath of fresh air. it was suffocating, you had to walk on eggshells to make sure you don't get publicly humiliated. it destroyed my self-esteem, trust, etc. It was and still is a genuinely horrible experience and something i would never wish upon anybody. it wasn't like the teachers were much better here anyway. the punishment system was so incredibly flawed that i feel like my left nut could do a better job. More times than not, the students who have spent more money on this school would be let off scott free, while relatively small issues would be blown out of proportion. not to mention the blatant favoritism within the school. They often swept things under the rug, and would shrug off serious claims (potential racists, nazis, etc). They could see a kid be ridiculed infront of them, and i wouldn't be surprised if they joined in. During the time I attended there, the state of the kitchen was somewhat satisfactory. The food and drinks was often raw or expired, and on good days, stale. Obviously, these are all my own experiences, and your child's own can vary vastly than mine. this is in no way to defame or tarnish the schools reputation in a vast way. i must admit that i have had some amazing experiences that i would not trade for the world, and maybe this is a recurring theme in all middle schools, but nonetheless, i advise you to avoid this school if possible. most stmcs alumni would tell you the same. In a time when many are wondering about what is actually being taught in the classroom, it is comforting to know that my children are not being exposed to anything other than a Christian worldview. Each teacher has been transparent in what is being covered in the classroom, and they have also been very approachable if there was any kind of concern. I highly recommend this school to anyone, but especially to parents looking to make a change out of a "progressive" school system.

One math teacher I had screamed at me and other students constantly and taught with fear rather then patience, I used to cry because she would pick on me over and over again in class because I have a sleeping disorder and mental illness so I wasn't preforming well. Do you like being discriminated against based on how you act and dress? Fear not this place will do that to you! If you wear a non normal fashion they will target you and follow you around in the mornings to make sure you don't have anything thats not allowed in dress code. The rules are made up. by the teachers half the time It says so in the student handbook. Most teachers were great but the disciplinary department is so awful. If you want your kids to cry every night because they don't think they're good enough then send them here. Send them to BL or any other school but this one, I will never forget a lot of the trauma I experienced here and I'm disgusted by this school because I paid for it.

After elementary, prior to entering junior high,she was required to select a course of study based on her preferences, testing and availability. She choose science and leadership. Continuing through this program with distinction,she graduated and went on to Texas Tech University. After a biology/ chemistry degree she entered a career in the scientific community where today she is honored and respected after excelling in science. I give a tremendous amount of credit for her success to the RISD Magnet program and the professional educators that were dedicated enough to follow through,assuring students took full advantage of a special curriculum offered them.
