Oh wow, where do I start. I worked part time when our two daughters were born. They didn't sleep well, but I was able to white knuckle it out. When Our son, our third child, came along, both my husband and I were working a lot. 12 weeks of maternity leave came and went quickly. I was exhausted and a dear friend insisted that I needed help and that I should call Margaret. Begrudgingly I did, and boy am I glad I did. Being a bit uncomfortable and skeptical about sleep training, we started off with about three or four nights of night nursing with Anita. Margaret began the process with a thorough interview to get to know us and let us ask as many questions as we wanted. I think she really paid attention during the interview because Anita was a perfect match. She is very sweet and loving. When Anita and we felt ready to begin sleep training, Anita was there with us every step of the way assuring us he was ready and that in the end he would sleep through the night. Anita, a trained RN, made sure that baby was safe and that progress was being made. When the sleep training seemed to be slow going, Margaret came to the rescue. She came into our house for another consultation and gave us Cynthia, who is basically a sleep training Ph.D.! She's been working with babies and sleep issues for 10 years. I call her "the closer." Cynthia carefully examined the baby's day schedule, suggested a few tweaks and within two days he slept through the night and has been ever since. I don't even know where to begin? Any mom of a newborn would be beyond lucky to have these wonderful women caring for their baby(s). If you are looking for a night nanny, look no further, these women are top notch. They are amazing and wonderful and I am beyond grateful for their help. My son, my husband, and my marriage thank them as well :) My experience having twins has been absolutely amazing largely because of Margret and Cynthia. Below is more about my experience with them but I wanted to make sure any reader knew right away that these women are the BEST! I had never even heard of a night nanny until another mom with twins told me about Margret and her team of wonderful night nurses. Margret came to my house when I was still pregnant, and I knew I was in good hands. When the girls were born, she came the first night I was home. I had heard horror stories about having twins (I also have a two year old) and I am so happy to say that I never had to experience any of it because of Margret and Cynthia. At 4-5 weeks Margret suggested we remove the midnight feeding. I was super impressed because removing feedings was making me less likely to keep her longer. She also suggested having less nights if that meant I could keep her longer. I was floored because it would obviously be better for her if I had someone every night. She is a selfless, and lovely woman. I am VERY happy to say that he girls are 12 weeks old and slept through the night 4 of the 7 nights last week. We had a wonderful experience with Our Joy Infant Care. Margaret immediately responded to my inquiry, and she and Shirley met with my family just 2 days after my initial call. Shirley started with us when our daughter was 10 weeks old, and was with us 5 nights a week for about 3 months. Her help was invaluable, especially during my transition back to work after maternity leave. Shirley was reliable, on time, and a delight to work with. She was always in a wonderful mood and we looked forward to her cheerful presence every evening. She took fantastic care of our daughter at night. For the first 10 weeks she followed the baby's schedule, and the last 2 weeks (when she was age and weight appropriate) we started a slow method of sleep training that worked very well! I loved that we had Shirley's help for a gentle sleep training transition. Shirley also made sure all of the baby's laundry and bottles were clean and sterilized before leaving in the morning. On the 2 or 3 nights Shirley had other commitments she always informed me in advance and had a back-up nurse available that knew my daughter's schedule. It was a lifesaver to have 8 hours of continuous sleep, especially during my transition back to work, and I am so grateful to Shirley and Margaret for their help. Our daughter is a great sleeper at night, and I know much of that is a result of Shirley's hard work. I highly recommend Our Joy to any family in need of a night nurse. read more

I never knew about baby night nurses until my friend got one when she had her first. Yes, they can be expensive, but are WORTH EVERY DOLLAR. Upon researching many companies, I chose Our Joy Infant Care because I got to meet the ladies at a baby expo in Skokie and instantly knew that these women "live and breathe" newborns. As a first time Mom I was in for a great surprise just how hard it is to go on no sleep at all for days and days on end. Our baby was in the NICU for a few days and then pediatrics, so I was so grateful that this company had actual nurses taking care of our son. Margaret is the owner and she is THE BEST source of all things newborn. She comes and prepares you and your house for the baby, and then usually she will do the first week or so, until your regular night nurse takes over. We had our night nurse come 3x a week and both husband and I could not wait for the night when she comes. Whether you breastfeed or bottle feed, they are so supportive and helpful. During the night, they also do baby's and family's laundry, clean baby's room and tidy up your kitchen, how great is that!!!!!! Our regular night nurse Irene was great at taking care of our son, so when the time came for me to go back to work, it just so worked out that she became our full-time daytime nanny, and we are very happy with her so far. If you are considering hiring a night nurse, even if it is for just several nights per week, DO IT! It is worth it!!! read more

As a first time mom- everything is scary. I didn't have any experience with babies (no babysitting or friends with children) So when we decided to look for a night nurse for the first few months- I wasn't really sure what to ask or even look for. Our Joy Infant Care was a referral from a family member that used Abigail. They always raved about her and said how helpful she was with the first few months of parenthood. The first time I met with the owner- Margaret- I knew I had made the right decision. She put me at ease. I think we booked them when I was around 6 months pregnant..I definitely recommend hiring them sooner than later. My son was a month early- yet they were able to rearrange things and accommodate the early arrival- thank GOD!! We were fortunate and had them 4 nights a week- Abgail was our girl!!! She was wonderful. She knew everything!!! She walked me through the first 4 months of my sons life- all the questions, concerns and fears. I couldn't have done it without her. The other great thing was the sleep!!! I had 7 hours of straight sleep- and resting well since I knew my son was in great hands. And any new mom can tell you- that is priceless. I also used Martha (another girl who works there) as a day nanny for about a month- while my regular nanny was on vacation. She was great too! I highly recommend their services! read more

The idea of having help from a night nurse/nanny originally did not appeal to me even though we were expecting twins. However, when a number of friends and neighbors kept telling me that I really needed to be open to the idea and give it a try, I decided to look into it. That's when I found Our Joy. Margaret and Cynthia came over to meet us before the babies arrived and that's when I realized that these women provided even more than a coveted good night's sleep. Once the babies were a few weeks old and sleep deprivation was starting to set in, we had Margaret or Cynthia come twice a week. They reviewed what we were doing with the babies during the day, gave us sound advice, and we enjoyed an amazing full night's sleep. Not only were we incredibly refreshed the day after they would come, but knowing they were coming in another few days really helped get thru the nights that we didn't have them helping us. As happy as we were when the babies started sleeping thru the night at 9 weeks (thanks to following all of their advice), we were sad that we no longer had a need to see Margaret and Cynthia anymore. We had a remarkable experience with Our Joy! As first time parents, we were utterly overwhelmed. We were filled with love and excitement, but also anxiousness in caring for our delicate little girl. We didn't know how to care for someone who was unable to communicate what's wrong. Then, an angel came to us -- Abigail. Helping us not only to understand that what we were experiencing was normal, but also provided the utmost care for our daughter. She educated, guided and consoled us whenever we needed it and helped us maneuver the early weeks (and months) of caring for our newborn. We worked with Margaret, Jocelyn, and Grace from February 2018-May 2018. Simply put, they were AMAZING. Margaret was an excellent coordinator and so knowledgeable about raising our newborn. She was also very flexible and accommodating to our needs. Jocelyn was our night nanny for 3 nights per week, starting from the very first week of our son's life. We owe her everything and could not be happier with the outcome! Our son was sleeping through the night at 12 weeks, by the time I went back to work which meant I was as rested as a new mom could be. She coached us through different stages of sleep training and also provided crucial advice on baby's milestones and comfort. She was a pure joy to have in our home and we miss seeing her! Although since our son sleeps perfectly, I'm not sure she'd have much to do other than snuggle the baby in the morning . Our twins were born premature and stayed in the hospital several weeks after being born. As it was time to bring our babies home, my husband had to return to work and his job required extensive travel. Needless to say as a first-time mom, I was really nervous about being alone with the babies at night. I also was not getting much sleep so a friend suggested a night nurse. Margaret and Our Joy Infant Care was the best thing to happen to us. I can't even begin to tell you that our kids are thriving because of the assistance provided by Our Joy Infant Care. Hiring a night nanny was the best advice we have got and the best decision we have made as the first-time parents. We came from the hospital with a very vague idea about the newborn care and were so happy that we had Margaret coming the very first night. Although we had my parents helping with our baby-girl, I could not imagine them helping me both at night and during the day. Our Joy Infant Care is an amazing service! The night nurses are very knowledgable and professional. We had them with our first son and now again with our second son. Our first son slept through the night at 3 months and is still a fantastic sleeper. Margaret and her team are fabulous. They are warm and comforting, and know about how to care for a newborn. Margaret met me the night I came home from the hospital with my first baby. This was obviously an exciting time, but also hectic and exhausting. Margaret was very soothing. Becky was an utmost professional- competent, respectful, warm, kind, knowledgeable, and most importantly, loving. She cared for my son as if he were her own. She swooped right in to take care of my baby at nighttime, and in turn, took care of me! I was fortunate enough to meet her when I was 7 months pregnant with my twins and she was an invaluable source of help, information and preparation.
