Before I write this review, I think I should define what CSS means to me. It's childcare insurance, flexibility, freedom, and piece of mind. I've used CSS for 5 years now (since my oldest was 2 and youngest 3 months) and have met a number of sitters over the years 20? 30? And they are amazing. ALL of them. Not some. Not one. ALL. They love kids. They are smart. They are mature. And my children cannot wait to see them come back. Why are they great, bc Tori the owner is great. She advocates for both the parents and sitters and takes out the guesswork. She thoroughly interviews each and every sitter to ensure they are the right fit and can properly represent the CSS name. I've delayed on writing this review bc I'm not a reviewer. Good or bad, it's just not something I do. But people should know about CSS. It's been a blessing to be able to use the service and meet great, reliable sitters, and alway have an advocate for childcare in this big city to make sure my kids are safe. Having worked as a sitter for this agency for almost a year, I can say it has been an incredible experience!! It is truly wonderful to have a team match you with families based off your expertise and comfort level. There is never any going in blind, and Tori and the team are amazingly supportive. Boundaries and policies are clear and enforced, allowing for accountability on the part of myself as a sitter and families. For example, I love their cancellation policy-- as a sitter, you won't lose out on compensation because a family cancels last minute! This review is LONG overdue considering we've used Chicago Super Sitters exclusively for our childcare needs going on 4 years now! I nervously contacted Tori when our daughter was 11 months old and she immediately made me feel comfortable - with her philosophy, her process in screening and selecting sitters, and in her own extensive background in childcare. At that point, we'd only ever left our little lady with grandparents and we were overwhelmed by finding a trustworthy local sitter but desperate for regular date nights. Since that day, we've been fortunate to have dozens of wonderful Super Sitters care for our now two children, some of whom we've gone on to use in recurring capacities as nannies (another service of CSS!). Oh baby! Thank heaven for Chicago Super Sitters (& little girls;) About 2 years ago, I became a mom. During our 10 years of marriage my husband and I had traveled, gone to dinners, movies, shows. We read, watched sunrises, slept in, skateboarded. We picked each other's noses if we felt like it. All the stuff that can be impossible to do with a toddler around. Who knew showers would become so appreciated?! A bike ride? Finishing my novel? HAHAHA. I was completely overwhelmed. I didn't really want to get a nanny. I mean, what's the point of having a kid if someone else is going to raise them IMO. But with my husband working 24/7 and I keeping my job part time, I was starting to think about my options. Then I broke my arm. My right one at that! OH NOOOOO. My mom flew up to help but could only stay 2 weeks. A broken arm is a 2-3 month adventure. I couldn't drive, change diapers, give baths, or pick her up. I desperately reached out for help. Tori and her team were there for us and have been ever since. I had never had anyone but family watch over my child and I was scared. I honestly didn't even know "how" to lol. I'm a do-it-yourself type gal, asking for help isn't easy. We began with a few sitters coming in and assisting. These days we purchase Supercard packs and get the heck outta dodge for a bit on a regular basis. My daughter has loved every sitter and so have we. I can honestly say we've never had a bad experience. Treat yoself;) Get to know these super sitters and let them help make life a bit easier. Book in advance if possible. Especially around the holidays. It's cheaper and CSS is obviously quite popular. Our favorite sitters have been Cortez, Laura C, Carly Jo, Amina.. but all are lovely and great with kids. We used Chicago Super Sitters for our October 2016 wedding and were really happy about everything. I got recommended to Tori from a friend who is a mom and has used them before. I contacted Tori and she responded so quickly. I was so impressed with the whole process from start to finish. Tori was so helpful to walk me through the process and then additionally helping me get the right package for the amount of kids we would have and how old those kids are. She also helped us figure out the best place to have all the kids, activities for the kids that night, and getting food for the kids. Once we got all the names for the kids that were going to be with the babysitters, Tori contacted the parents to talk to them about their kid(s) and learn more about them as well as sharing all the information about the sitters that would be watching the kids. All the parents I talked to said their kids had so much fun and they were so thankful we had the service so they could have a fun date night and really celebrate with us. My wife and I first found Tori and her amazing team as we were planned a trip to Chicago from Toronto, with our 6 year old son in tow. Much as we love our boy (and we do!) the thought of calling it a night in a city like Chicago at 8pm wasn't that appealing. So after emailing, facetiming, yelping, and linkedin-ing Tori and Chicago Super Sitters, we decided to hire a babysitter to watch our boy on vacation (and were very nervous about it). But we could not have been happier with Alex, the young woman that babysat our boy. Right on time, had ideas on what to do, took him out to the park, Alex was great. I signed on working for CSS in October of 2019. After a very thorough and lengthy 3-part interview, I was welcomed on board. The great thing about this agency is they are completely transparent for both parents and sitters! Each party has a profile to fill out, and everyone knows ahead of time who they are about to meet before entering your home! I appreciate the information, more importantly the safety factor for both parties involved. This is an agency that ensures a win-win for everyone involved! I have a profile on some other "well-known" websites that are now inactive. I found people were either not considerate of time, and not serious about their care-seeking needs. When I book with CSS then, I know this family has follow through and that we both benefit from this service! This is a very confusing business model. I was recruited by the owner and/or hiring recruit, Carrie, and put through an intense hiring process. I am a 9th grade English Special Education Teacher with both a Bachelor's and Masters Degree and 15 years of experience nannying for children with special needs and 3 years+. I gave 2 references (both references had to fill out an online form) completed a phone interview. during the phone interview, Carrie told me that after my references took time out of their day to complete the forms, we would set up an in-person interview. However, the next day, I received an email (not a phone call) simply stating that "you are not the right fit." This company is completely misleading and I would not recommend any sitters they have if they would not hire an Illinois State Highly Qualified educator. read more

We went to Chicago for a wedding where both my kids (3 & 5) were in the bridal party... We had a sitter from Chicago Super Sitters help watch the kids pre-wedding through the end of the night. This was not an easy gig for the babysitter (I felt bad)... but our sitter was amazing! Our communications with Tori (owner) from the beginning were fantastic. She was reliable, friendly, and helpful. She even provided me a list of kid friendly things to do in Chicago. We were provided the perfect sitter... She was able to navigate a wedding of 175 strangers, deal with my clingy son and successfully get the kids to bed. I don't know what we would have done without her. I cannot recommend Chicago Super Sitters highly enough. I'm a new mom with a three month old, and was in the process of trying to find a babysitter for the first time, a process that was making me very nervous. I came across this service online and liked both a) how we are paired with sitters, and b) the pricing structure. Re being matched with a sitter: Tori, the owner, is just fantastic. She takes the time to talk to you and meet with you if possible to find out what you are looking for and what type of children you have so she can make the best babysitter match. She has tons of experience and is extremely warm and sensitive to the fact that you are leaving your kids with someone you don't know. She works very hard to not only make sure all her sitters are "up to snuff," but also that you end up with a sitter that makes sense with your situation. After our meeting I felt 100% better about leaving my son alone. We've now used the service four times and have been paired with two amazing sitters who really seem to love kids and did a great job with our son, and also seemed the right fit for the two different jobs (twice we went out on a Saturday night, twice I had someone come during the day so I could run some errands, nap, shower, etc.). Couldn't be happier! Re the pricing structure: I did not want to sign up for a subscription service for the occasional sitter, and so I am a big fan of the pay as you go system. The SuperSitter Card is also a wonderful value. I also found it extremely overwhelming on other sitter sites to have to go through various profiles, etc. in order to pick a sitter based just on the sitter's assessment of themselves. I like how Tori has vetted all her sitters personally, and therefore can make a more informed decision than I can on who makes sense for me. However after I've met some of her sitters I have the opportunity to request people specifically. Best of both worlds. Bottom line, this service makes me comfortable enough to leave the house! Tori and her team have been great. They are so responsive and fast to get back. I never worry that I won't have a sitter anymore. All the sitters they sent were great or awesome. I never worry when we go out when I'm booking with CSS. It's so easy to not have to screen and search for a sitter on your own- you never know what will come of it. With CSS I know a sitter will there and my kids will love her. I've recommended CSS to friends. Yes you can do it on your own, but for the small fee it worth it for busy moms. So I decided to hire a sitter to come to my wedding, to try to minimize the screaming-baby quotient at cocktail hour and during the reception. I thought this was a possbily brilliant but possibly disastrous idea, as parents might not warm to the concept of handing their tiny people off to a complete stranger in a semi-public place (not to mention what I perceive as children's propensity to thwart all well-intentioned plans). All I can say is that Maryann was freaking AMAZING. She showed up early, bearing toys and a big grin, and the tinies were never seen or heard from again until it was time for their parents to carry them off into the night. We used Chicago Super Sitters for our September wedding. They provided babysitting services onsite at our wedding venue (in a separate room) during the ceremony and reception for 7 toddlers ages 2-5. They were fantastic throughout the entire process and very professional. Communication with Tori was easy and prompt, even when I had to change the number of kids repeatedly. I was a bit busy during the wedding so I didn't get a chance to peak in, but it seemed like the kids were happy and I didn't hear of any issues (which is the best news for a bride). This is a great option if you want to have an adult wedding but need to accommodate children for guests traveling from out of town, definitely worth the money. read more

We are from Indiana and we needed a sitter for a night in Chicago. Chicago Super SItters came to the rescue with a fabulous sitter who my child still asks me if we will see again. The sitter was on time, played games, read books, even made origami with my five-year-old - all in a small hotel room. I was very apprehensive to leave my child in a hotel room with a sitter I didn't know, but Chicago Super Sitters gave me a complete biography about the sitter along with references from other families about the sitter. This service is a lovely resource for parents. I only had to fill out my profile one time and an overqualified well-vetted sitter is sent whenever I request. They employ a beautiful diversity of sitters; each has been a unique and welcome addition to my son's social experiences. They are always eager to work really hard, even though my kid is pretty easy and their job usually consists of manning the baby monitor while he sleeps. Follow up is great in both the placement and review process. It takes so much stress out of planning a night out! The most pleasantly surprising part of working with CSS is the placement email, which contains the name and phone number of my sitter, as well as a short bio to introduce me without me actually having to do the interviewing. I used to work for a "fancy" babysitting service in NYC, so when we had to find a service to watch our kids while at a wedding in Chicago, the snooty service here informed me that I would need 2 babysitters for a pair of 2 year olds and a 4 month old. I'm like, you're babysitters must not be very good if they can't handle 3 little ones. So I emailed Chicago Super Sitters, and Tori wrote me back immediately and said three kids, no problem ;) We ended up having an issue with our vacation rental and Tori immediately texted several possibilities. She goes above and BEYOND her call of duty, and so we decided to hire a last minute sitter to take the 2 toddlers to the zoo. Probably the best idea my sister in law and I ever had, lol. Tori was in constant communication with us from the time I first contacted her to when I left Chicago. She is a dream and her sitters (we used two different girls) were AMAZING.
