I've not been inside as I've never had the privilege to be a direct relative of a member, but I've heard it's a very close knit atmosphere, much like the old days of working man's ale houses and village social clubs. I think they have darts and a darts team and I've heard that the ale is incredibly cheap! I know that they have a full bar that consists of lots of spirits and beers and a minimal selection of cheap wines! I'm not sure that they serve food but there's a great chip shop over the road!

Over the years, we have been to many social events at this club and have never really been disappointed. The staff are excellent and try hard to serve everyone fairly - even females! One thing I hate is when a single female at the bar is completely ignored and I get served first, even when I have only just got to the front. The standard bitter, mild, lager and the aforementioned Guinness are up to standard and the venue is well equipped to cater for large parties, fund-raising events and the like. The toilets are well maintained and adequate for the numbers and the carpark is the same (adequate and well-maintained, that is). If you are planning an event here, be mindful that you may have to book your own entertainment, but the management may recommend someone - if they do, it will be worth considering.

The function room is large and ideal for parties and celebrations. The bar has a really good selection of drinks at really competetive prices. the staff in here are really efficient and freindly and really do make the place an enjoyable place to spend a quiet evening. Theres often live entertainment which is normally dire but then its also either free or very cheap so thats fair enough. The club is well situated within a housing area and is well worth a visit.
