Wonderful practice on the beach. Don't forget your sunscreen! Not too early in the AM but early enough to beat the heat

Did two beach yoga sessions with two different instructors, both were great and accommodated all the levels that were present.

Have taken classes here for years. Quality instructors. All are welcomed and encouraged, regular students and drop-ins.

The studio itself is serene and beautiful and Anne's class was truly one of the best I've ever had.

While visiting OBX we booked Thursday morning beach vinyasa with Lynn. The website was organized…read moreand detailed. It was quick and easy to learn about the studio and book a class. The Hayman St beach access is easy to locate and has ample parking spaces. The class was small, only 3 people and started on time. Lynn modified the class to target our reported problem areas and provided modifications as needed. Beach yoga in general is more challenging than yoga in the studio. Balance poses in particular are more difficult. Nonetheless, the peaceful, beautiful scenery certainly makes up for it. Relaxing and focusing on breathing and mindfulness is much easier on the beach. Plus Lynn properly eased us into the balance poses. The class was appropriate for all levels and cost $22 as a single class (in line with other local yoga studios). We enjoyed the class and hope to attend another class in the future!

Chelsea was a true professional - she made sure to speak to me before and after class, and although yoga poses on the sand can be a unique challenge, her instructions were clear while keeping it fun. I really enjoyed her class and would come back when I'm in the area again! I'd also like to sing praises to the gentleman I spoke to on the phone prior to signing up for my session. He gave me useful information on the 2 classes I was considering which ultimately proved to be helpful! I came into my session knowing what to expect and yet it exceeded my expectations. I can't say much about their in-studio classes, but based on my experience, I'm sure they're a hit too!

If you need low impact, high results, safe workout this Pilates Club will do the trick. The…read moreteachers are well educated in classic Pilates and body mechanics to help you stretch and strengthen your body regardless of your prior injuries. It's a safe place for people of all ages. I'm not one to run (unless someone or something is chasing me) or try to be competitive in one of those crazy boot camp gyms. I wanted to build my core strength and improve my alignment without feeling defeated and deflated by trying to flip truck tires. I have seen too many of my friends get totally burned out at the "color theory" places. Gyms intimidate me and I just won't stick to going. Wasting money on monthly gym memberships has been my life long history. I feel like Club Pilates might just be the one workout place that I can continue safely, even enjoying it into my golden years. I'm 6 months in and still going strong and feeling the results. Majority of members are women, but I have seen more men joining lately and for good reasons. I'm hoping my husband will sign up for twice weekly class to start with. Having prior shoulder surgery and complaining of stiff lower back makes him perfect candidate to start on movement and mobility with Pilates. Teachers offer personalized private assessment appointments free of charge. The classes are small (max 12) and these feel like semi private with 3-4 students at times. Start at Flow 1.0 (beginner level) and try Restore ("Pilates self massage") or Center & Balance (my favorite). If you never tried Pilates, try it at this club. It might just change your life.

I've had two knee replacements since joining and if it weren't for this place, I don't think my recovery would have been as successful as it has been. I am more flexible now than I was in my 20s and thankfully, my balance is improving in spite of the fact that I used to be called Weeble's wobbles growing up. The people that come here are of all ages, body types, and fitness level. No matter where you are in the journey, you will always Feel at home here. Very grateful for the Studio!

Great studio, great location, great instructor!…read more How did I find this place? Funnily enough... Yelp. I don't live locally but visit family frequently enough to want a go-to studio in Virginia Beach. I found 3 on yelp - none of which had any reviews. Chose Pilates Fitness Club solely based on the website: it was really easy to find the schedule and the class options are super convenient. Plus a prominently featured intro deal for new clients: 5 classes for $25. Worth it? Yes. I haven't tried the other studio to compare, but I'm fairly positive I made the right choice. Not intimidating at all (the other studio pretty much required you to call in advance if you were a brand new student) and awesome instructor (Chris) - whether there are 2 students or 12, he really focuses on making sure you're doing the movements correctly and makes the 50 minutes of class fly by. Proximity to the oceanfront is an added bonus.

The instructors were very good and took you through the movements and made the appropriate adjustments. They made the class fun and approachable even for beginners like me. They had a $25 for 5 classes for first time customers deal so you really don't have an excuse not to give them a try. Be warn though because you'll likely come back often. The classes are generally scheduled every hour and can be easily booked through the website. On the last day, I brought my 60 year old mother to class and Christopher took his time to work with her on the various Pilates positions. She has not even heard of Pilates and she had a great workout. This is on my to go list when I am in the area.
