So I truly never write negative reviews but I am truly disappointed with this experience. I have used this marina for about 7 years, but will not be returning. I called 2 weeks ago to have my boat dewinterized for the season and was told that the boat should be ready on the Thursday after I dropped it off (also that the trailer lights could be checked/fixed). I dropped my boat off on Saturday where indicated, and did not hear anything the following week. After the week went by I called to check on the status and was told that they did not have a work order for me and they would have to call me back. The following day I received a call trying to find out where I dropped the boat and what I needed done. After reviewing with the caller I was told this would not be a problem. A few minutes later I get a call from the service dept or manager telling me that the boat would not be ready for a month and a half! When I asked how that could be based on the previous 3 conversations I had with other members of the marina, I was told that they don't take appointments and that no work order would have been placed until after I dropped off the boat and then called in. We went back and forth for some time where his position was that I would have never been told a time that the work would be done until calling after I dropped the boat, and that the work order would have only been for the trailer because everything else was booked out so far. I will cease ranting now, and refrain from using expletives to describe my feelings toward the gentlemen that I spoke with, but needless to say I would look for another shop if at all possible before going to them. read more

We had a great experience with this company. We rented a pontoon boat that fits 10 people in August and the boat was clean and new (2019 version). We didn't have the pay for any deposits before we rented the boat. We stayed in Ithaca so it was a bit of a drive to get to the boat place but it was totally worth it! The prices are so much more reasonable than renting boats on the Cayuga. They operate on Owasco but they said they are willing to drive it to another lake if you do 3 days rental. The day rental is much longer than other places. We rented the boat from 9am to sunset. Most places makes you turn the boats in by 6pm. Totally would rent from them again! read more

Rented a pontoon boat for a daily rental and was very pleased with the boat and staff. I had originally rented for Saturday due to weather I called and asked for a boat on Sunday and fortunately there wasn't a problem.The boat was new and easily seats 8 people For a daily rental of $329 with a full tank of gas it is a great deal! My daughter comes up from NYC for the week and this day is her favorite summer day. Dave in the office and Kevin who helped us move our stuff onto the boat were great! Friends and I were in Skaneateles for the weekend and we wanted to rent a boat at Skaneateles Marina but they were all rented out! We called up Owasco today and luckily someone had just canceled and we were able to take the boat for half a day at $199 plus propeller insurance $12 and tax. The staff was super nice and friendly and showed us how to maneuver the pontoon. The boat was new (Bennington) and came with a full tank, life jackets, USB port, radio, places to hold out drinks. There is also shade that you can put up or down. It was pretty nice for a leisure day out on the lake! We cruised all the way to the other end and hung out on the lake for a good 4-5 hours. We are all female in our 30s visiting from NYC and found the boat easy to drive around and safe. Would definitely recommend this place and come back if we can. On weekends the office is open from 10-2 so after 2 you just dock the boat and leave the key. Someone comes around in the evening to check. Had good cell reception on the lake and highly recommend making a rsvp! Great deal if going with a group of friends or family! read more

Hello, this is Lenee Ford, John's daughter. My dad created Owasco Marine back in the late 70's. I grew up on the marina. I called there today for the first time in more years then I care to disclose. I left New York over 20 years ago. I am going home this summer with my husband and daughter and hey we want to check out my old stomping grounds. However I called I called Owasco Marine and talked to Bill, I wanted to know about boat rentals and Baylor's (as I remember) I'm told it has been named Christie's, now something else. I was ashamed of the customer service I received over the phone. My Dad would never approved. I hope that when we arrive in the finger lakes region this summer we will receive better service. read more
