There were two instructors in class, with one adjusting. I've never taken a Bikram class with this level of attention (ah, German engineering at it's finest) and I feel like this class alone was a booster pack to my entire decade + long practice. If your idea of relaxation is torturesome detoxification, then I strongly recommend a grueling session at Yoga and More. (the relaxation is the reward). The studio itself is beautiful and the heated room has hardwood floors which is always preferential to carpet. 10 Euro for 10 classes intro special makes even one class cost effective.

The Swami has a calm and genuine radiance that let´s you know that you are in good hands, whether you are a newbie or advanced. Should you have a deep urge to learn about yoga, his traditional upbringing and understanding of yoga will spare you many many years of practicing yoga with "unknowledgeable" modern yoga teachers. This yoga school is different than any other yoga school/establishment I have ever visited. It is located on a corner of two busy streets, however, once you walk in and are greeted by the beautiful and calm sent in the air, you know that you can now leave your frazzled and busy thoughts behind. And you will! The studio is located on the second floor of an Altbau house, which comes with the charming hardwood floors, high ceilings and large windows. Yet it has a traditional and practical ambiance and impresses with its simplicity. People there are friendly and welcome you immediately and one has never the feeling of being a newbie. The yoga sessions are taught in one room, which fits approx. 15-20 people. The neighboring room provides additional space for more people. The sessions are different each time. I think that Swami works on these things rather deliberately and one gets the feeling that he has put thought into preparing a yoga session. In addition to the regular asanas, one day it could contain singing mantras, the other breathing exercises, or a focus on meditation and relaxation, sometimes it could be a few minutes of philosophy and one can learn about Indian medicine or alternative remedies. It is all well balanced and you will leave the session with a smile on your face. Promised! The website provides updates, class schedules, dates on retreats. One can also get a yoga license here. The prices vary depending on flexibility and frequency.

It only took two visits for me to fall in love with Lokahi Loft!…read more In my opinion, it is literally one of the best fitness clubs in the whole city. I love that there is an entire floor dedicated to strength training. The best part: I went here the other night at prime time and the place was empty! As a long-time patron of Superfit, I can say without a doubt that it does not even belong in the same category as Lokahi Loft. Obviously, the membership is going to be a little more expensive, but it is truly worth it if you want to actually be able to work out at all times of the day (as opposed to waiting around for machines in the evening at Superfit). I bought a groupon for the CrossCircle classes and have nothing bad to say about the two courses I have been to so far. The trainers seemed really knowledgable and were big sticklers on proper technique. This is great; a lot of Crossfit style workouts are criticized for being dangerous because the instructors neglect teaching good form -- certainly not the case here at Lokahi! Side note of little importance: the instructors are extremely attractive and have physiques that truly prove they not only talk the talk, but walk the walk....;D In addition, they have a really large wellness area, including multiple terraces and a library-lounge. The personnel is also really friendly, much unlike at the other fitness clubs I have visited in Berlin. Two small downsides: one, the club is situated pretty far away from where I live; and two, I wish there was a bit more functional equipment available for use outside of the CrossCircle area (which you have to pay a separate fee for). Despite this, I am still heavily considering becoming a member because of all the positives that Lokahi Loft has to offer!

The equipment is well-chosen and versatile; the space is cheery, immaculate, and well-maintained. There's a room of boxing equipment, and I think brand new leg machinery since I was last here. The owner and trainer is friendly, helpful, and just a constant source of positive energy. Love this place. One small eccentricity to be prepared for: as part of keeping the place so clean with no staff, you are asked not to wear shoes you've worn on the street into the gym. Bring training shoes in your bag and change into them once you're inside.

The gym has all the necessary equipment, be it weight training (machine and free weights), cardio, or even boxing. Everything is kept in super clean and well-functioning state. I also really appreciated his tips around workouts here and there (and I know he also has personal training program as well). Also included is the protein shake you can get at the end of the workout, which I thought was a great plus especially for travelers like myself. More than anything, this is not one of those commercial gyms where they only care about taking your money or the equipment can be hit or miss. It felt like I was working out at a friend's place with a super nice gym. Overall, I can't recommend it enough for anyone whether local or visiting Berlin and Schöneberg area.
