People on holidays come & get in line several hours before opening & buy them out. They are located in old corrugated tin building in "Old Town" nicely landscaped, along side Wells Creek that run through town. So worth the 130 mile round trip from Nacogdoches! We tried the banana blueberry and the pecan praline. Both were yummy and very sweet! We are about half and then asked about 'real food's to balance the sugar high! Luckily there are several good spots within walking distance. read more

This place is so friggin cute! Stopped here to get a couple of slices of pie and it's a antique shop too! I love! The mom and son ( I'm pretty sure it's a mom and son) are so so sweet. They were out of the pie I wanted and she says oh I will make another do you mind coming back in an hour? Heck no I don't mind! We went for a nice little drive and came back to pick up our slices of pie... Walk in immediately get recognized... Y'all back to get your pie!? Yes we are lol. I love little Texas towns. We got a cream cheese cherry pie and a blue berry banana pie that were super yum yum! Especially the crust! My husband who isn't a huge sweet eater devoured it so fast that I was actually shocked how fast it went! They will make you whole pies too! Just call ahead ! Oxbow has amazing pies! Everything I've had was wonderful and makes it hard to pick what to get. Most of the time I end up walking out with multiple items. The storefront is what you'd expect to see from a place that makes such amazing homemade pies. Feels like you've stepped back in time. Definitely worth the drive to Palestine. I've gone there 3 times. First time I had a Carmel praline pie that was utterly yummy. On a separate visit I tried the chocolate cream pie. Oh no don't ever try it. It was more like a cake dough than a cream pie. On my third visit I had their cherry cheesecake. The flavor was great but the presentation was less than desirable. Friendly, quick service. read more

It would be a good idea to update the schedules, we came from 3 hours to find out that they close at 3pm and on the website it says at 5pm

We were on a road trip and we arrived to this bakery Thursday a 4:50PM and it was CLOSED.( the sign says 5:00PM) It wasn't sold out because we saw some pies that were out on the front counter, on the rolling rack, and in the fridge. Oh. My. Goodness. I think we just found the best pie in Texas! My dad goes to Palestine a few times a year to pick up wood for our smoker. He was up there about a month ago, and Mom happened to see this place on Facebook. Of course, Dad was dispatched to pick up a few slices to try. What did we think? Well, he was back in Palestine yesterday, and this time returned with 2 whole pies... for a house of 3 people! Either they make really great pies or my family has a really big sweet tooth. Maybe both... Our favorite is the banana blueberry. It seriously tastes like heaven. I've had other pies that are basically a thick, bland crust and a ton of sugar and whipped cream. Not this one. It's a cream cheese filling, but it isn't overly sweet. And the fruit combination is pretty unique--I haven't seen another place with banana blueberry pie. But it works--the blueberries help balance out the sweetness. The graham cracker crust is crunchy but not too thick. My parents were just as impressed. We'll probably finish the whole thing by tomorrow. We also got the cherry cream to try. Since we were hypnotized by the amazingness of the aforementioned banana blueberry, we haven't tried it yet. However, there was some vague mention of having cherry pie for breakfast... and we never do that! That's how good this place is... I'll update after I taste it. I'm sure it will be just as good. Please, please, if you live in the area, give Oxbow some business. A lot of small businesses are struggling now; this gem of a bakery is too good to lose! read more

We traveled here during the fall of 2015 & had a variety of pies to take home for dessert. Every single one was delicious and well worth the cost. The owner son was wonderfully patient as we took a long time deciding of which 4 pie slices we would take. Their is a consignment store on the other side which we enjoyed browsing through. My dad insisted that we go get a slice of pie one day while running errands in Palestine and I must say they have the best lemon icebox pie I have ever tasted with the most amazing homemade graham cracker crust. The store reminds me of the very best of small town Texas and the folks working there couldn't be nicer. A definate Texas treasure and worth the drive! read more
