I know that the money goes to a good cause but if they sold things cheaper maybe they would sell more. St Leonard's Hospice is in York and I think they have about 6 shops across York too. They sell various things between them including furniture, clothes, and books. This particular one is in Haxby, which is a nice area, and the staff in this one always seem friendly.

RSPCA charity shop in Leeds is located to the lower end of the Headrow in the Eastgate area over…read morethe road from Argos. It is only 5 minutes easy walk from the bus station and main market. It sells a range of used and new items for charity and unlike some other charity shops they do not over charge. Everything is in good condition and it is a great place to pick up books and DVDs. There is something for everyone in here, I would have a look in as you never know what you are going to get. The staff are so nice and helpful too and there is a bus stop right outside if you want to get up the Headrow easily!

The shop is up a side street sort of behind marks and spencers which is the middle part town near kirkgate market. The entrance is quite wide and there are no steps so there is disabled access which is good. The store is nice and tidy if not jumbled with goodies - they sell all the usual second hand stuff from books to dvds to clothes, etc. They also sell rspca branded things like christmas cards and calendars and pens and notepads which are a good buy. The staff are lovely and very friendly and go out of their way to help you. I have on occasion asked them if they get any good horror books in to put them to one side for me and they have done that which is nice. Well worth a visit as they have some goodies to be found.

The staff are lovely and always strike up a conversation with me when I go in. They sell a number of new items also for charity and I believe are somewhat specialists in the dolls house field ( I'm no expert I'm afraid - but have heard this from others). They have a range of the dolls houses on sale as well as all the furniture and collectables for them. The window display is well laid oun and always catches my eye when I walk past.

It's kept tidy, and the staff are nice. It has that distinctive dusty charity shop smell, but they all do! I think it's one of the best charity shops in town.

This is another good charity shop based in bradford - this one raises money for the ymca which is…read morealso based in bradford and helps the homeless - so, buying here is good because you are helping the homeless in your own city which is always a plus for me. The shop is half way down ivegate which is quite a steep hill which does get very slippy when wet weather so be careful - its always best to get to from the bottom rather than the top of the hill. There is no disabled access but apart from the hill there are no obstacles and no steps into the shop and the shop itself is pretty easy to manouvre about in. The goods in the shop vary from the usual clothes and accessories, cds, videos and dvds to books, toys and games and are all checked to ensure they are good quality before they are put out for sale. While this shop isnt the cheapest of charity shops it is a good place to buy things from but be prepared to spend a while rummaging as there isnt much order to the chaos. The staff are nice and polite and eager to please.
