I was denied on my initial disability claim, so I came to Ozurvich & Schwartz and filed for my appeal hearing. O&S made sure I filled out all my applications and paper work, informed me of all the records and paper work needed to help my case. Fast forward to the result of my case, "fully favorable!" My hearing was canceled two days before it was scheduled I received a letter shortly letting me know the finding was fully favorable to my benefit. I then received an award letter detailing my lump sum back pay and what I'll be receiving monthly. I'm convinced the detailed advice I was given by O&S helped me convince the judge to give me a favorable decision without a hearing! Makes me extremely sad to not have any updates ever, a phone call or an appointment scheduled. This review is not for the attorneys but the incompetent staff who NEVER have answered any questions. How uncomfortable must one feel to avoid calling the office just to avoid sassy attitude. It's been like this since day one, but I feel it's getting worse. My case is complex and the Workers Comp company that covered me, BBSI is possibly the most unethical and irresponsible WC Insurance company in California. But Lynne has been a Rock Star and fought for me every time they tried to deny treatment or disability funds. Lynne represented me against one of the major motion picture studios (I'm not sure I can name them so I won't) and helped me win my worker's compensation claim against them. When I say helped me, I mean she and Dave Gerard did EVERYTHING. I got my file released to me after having so much arduous problems dealing with Mr. Schwartz. After finally having the time to carefully look over my files, I see a nice handwritten notation on one of the legal documents by someone at Mr. Schwartz's office. Whether it be himself or not, I don't know. Anyways, the handwritten notation refers to me as a PS F***bucket. I'd post it here but since it reveals too much personal info I'm happy to say I made the correct decision in firing this firm. My worst decision was hiring them in the FIRST place. ---------------- Haven't dealt with the other attorneys in the firm but Mr. Schwartz is by far the worse attorney I have ever dealt with. Complied with his every direction only to have him fall flat on his face when the defense attorney comes out swinging. Sent him letters to get him back on track and it's like I'm fighting him now too. As if I didn't have enough with the defense attorney or the investigators they hired to fuck with me. If you have an injury, I highly recommend you use your primary care provider as opposed to dealing workers comp insurance carriers. Case took way too long and settlement offered is an insult. The paralegals that work under him are indifferent and could give a rats ass whether you live or die. The worker's compensation system in California is utterly broken and screwed up beyond repair. I'm 2 months away from being homeless and poverty (negative and in major debt) because I followed the advice of this attorney, and I didn't even get the medical care I needed for my injuries. DO YOURSELF a HUGE FAVOR. Don't hire these guys. Look on avvo.com and do your research by trying to look up every possible feedback on the attorney representing you, especially in a jacked up clusterfuck such as workers compensation. After multiple appeals for disability, I was convinced that there was no way to win. The last thing a truly sick person needs is the beat down feeling from people not believing what you are really going through. I was getting nowhere with the government and was even denied when the government pulled and included someone else's medical records, really! With my husband helping me, the process was still a frustrating emotional and physical drain. Not to mention the loss of income and increase in medical expenses.
